I was wondering, when you turn off your ac or fan does your recirculation light turn off and goes to open vents? Im having that problem and was wondering if its just how Titans were made or if I have a defect.
I don't know if this is a dumb question but, would a Ipod a/v dock have to be installed like this to watch the videos?....or would it just show up with the deck as soon as the ipod is connected???
Great question actually. I wish I knew. I have the cable with the usb/av connections that I hook up to my 4th gen nano and I still have not figured out how to send video through to the head unit. I have pretty much given up on it lol.
very nice man i have the same truck a 08 titan xe im getting a new deck soon and i dont want to pay to have it put in. is there anyway you can tell me or show me how the front faceplate of the dash comes out so you can get to the stock deck? thanks again Curt
It actually just snaps on and off, if you can fit your fingers in the crack on the top put them in there and pull towards the back of the truck. Be careful since your ac controls are connected to that panel. It will hang down on those cables but you don't want to mess them up.
The nav is a separate unit that you have to purchase. I did not get it. I hear it is designed to sit under your passenger seat though. I have recently removed the Zune set up and ran an iPod cord thru and connected it to my new 16gb iPod Nano. it does have a direct interface for iPod so I can change the songs and stuff with the touch screen, with the zune I had to use the remote and point it down towards the receiver. I am more than happy with mine and would recommend it.
What kind of kit are you referring to? I didn't need a dash kit, that is how my dash has always looked minus the stock radio. I couldn't find a wiring harness so I found a wiring diagram and cut the plug and spliced it all up.
nice work man, i got the 685bt too. looks like it fit nicely in your truck. i had to cut my dash to make mine fit, love it though. watch my video when you get the chance
nice nice nice but i have a question when u put the bypass it was because ur truck wont let u play videos while ur drive ot its a feature built in in the double din?
im asking u this cuz im about to buy the same model that u have and im womder if im gonna have to go trough a hassel?
Sorry for the delay, it is illegal for the driver to be able to view video while driving. All head units will have this feature. Honestly it was easier for me to run the bypass with the little switch than if I had tried to find the parking break wire and clamp into it.
I don't know, never really looked into it, I still take mine out and listen to it as a portable mp3 player and such so that never interested me. I know that I do have to change it to tv out every time i start the truck which is kinda annoying. But if you were to do that you would still probably have to reroute the led remote sensor since I don't have controls on my head unit and still use the zune docking stations remote to operate it.
how did you hook up you zune im having a hard time i tired using the supported usb but it show error 2 cose. i have an home av dock what do i need to do? Thanks
Use the Red/White and Yellow RCA cables and your source choice will be Aux, not USB. Keep the USB connected though as it will allow you to charge the Zune when ever there is power applied to the radio.
Hi there! By any shance do you know how to install or did you have it installed? If you did it would you be willing to do it for some extra cash?

Sounds about the same. I recently got a new Ipod nano and have connected it. I can't tell the difference in sound quality.

Hi, nice & neat setup you got there. I'm on the market for double-din with nav & usb/sd/ipod controller, narrowed down to :
-Clarion MAX685BT (don't have enough info about this one, also hows the nav?)
-JVC kw-nx7000bt (i would like to hear more reviews on this one too)
-Pioneer Avic-F900bt (really love everything about it but seems to have lots of probs)
How do you like your clarion and have you got any thoughts about the other 2 or maybe some other suggestions? Many thanks!

Can you also do this with one of the new Ipod Nanos?
caw6969 3 years ago
A lot of the new Head Units cater more to Ipod use than zune so it should be much simpler.

Does the zune have a permanent tv-out? I want to get a Zune if you can do this. I would dock the zune in my car and hide it out of view.
