  • @synolimit you couldn't be more wrong. one, you don't have to be set up for a blow thru maf to run a vta bov. two, a blow thru system can be used in conjunction with a tmic, not just a fmic. three, even if what you said was correct, it wouldn't not have an explosive effect on the engine. youtube comments still never cease to amaze me.

  • @stage3LGT holy crap you have no idea what you talking about! of course you dont have to be set up BT to run a VTA BOV. the video is proof of that. it sure as hell doesnt mean its save and his over rich shifts arent hurting the motor. dumping large amounts of fuel during shifts isnt good. OMG please stop talking, you can run BT with a TMIC? the tmic bolts right to the TB, where in the world are you going to install the MAF with zero room?? you dont even know what BT is do you?!

  • @synolimit BT needs to be installed in a long, straight and much larger housing then the OEM location. OEM being 66mm you need 73mm+. thats not big enough, long enough, and away from bends as you need to be. RULES- at least 18" from the TB, 18" from the BOV, 8"-10" from any bends. this will cut down on turbulance so the MAF doesnt get crazy readings which are impossible to tune around. same goes with a BOV in draw though, you cant tune around it, car runs like shit.

  • @synolimit you're without a doubt an idiot. how in gods name are 1/2 second shifts going to ruin you engine (not motor, motors are for rc cars). its better to run rich for a brief moment than to run lean. save me the time and go jump off of a cliff, do you have any idea how A/F ratios work? ask any tuner in the world if a vta bov will seize your engine. some aftermarket tmic have extended endtanks, longer than that of stock ones. so yes, you can run a blow thru on them.

  • @FTFCinema lol dude this BOV does chirp. You need a whole new BOV. Stick with this one you won't get flutter dump like the others.

  • @EthansOpinion92 recirculate the blow off valve. increases spool time between shifts and wont be so loud. thats the setup im gonna go with.

  • @littlemimus proud owner of a wrx wagon, with a 4 eat, bought the atuto one cuz i thought it would have a less abused engine annd swap it out for a 6mt, haha i know, big project. but the lady who had it before didnt really keep up with the oil haha, i was thinking the cobb one, im not gonna get one with this td04 cuz its kinda useless. haha

  • @EthansOpinion92 ya cobb makes good stuff. im a mazda guy and they make alot of good stuff for the speed 3's. good thing your swappin that tranny. i hear the wrx trannys are really weak

  • yea... it realeases pressure so theres no backpressure thus having your turbo spooled more of the time... or something like that...

  • thats a 50/50 though right? looks like his recirc is hooked up? i have an 06 sti full atmospheric made my car run like dodo and its stage two

  • your right, it mess's the car sensors. they say the stock bov is more than good enough up to like 25 psi. i have an 07 with the stock, at 21psi and it sounds good.

  • our engines werent ment to run full atmospheric. get a bov that recirculates back into the intake such as a tubo xs 50/50 or a gfb 50/50. as long as some of the air goes back into the intake ull be fine and ur car wont run like doodoo

  • yea i just threw the bov on for shits and giggles my buddy had one laying around it was fun for a day the stock bpv is all i honestly need

  • yea i know that the stock bpv is the best but im lookn for the sound but at the same time with the stock drivability.

  • the recirc opening on the gfb 50/50 is lower on the piston than the vent to atm opening so most of the air gets recirc first while the rest gets VTA still producing a good sound. car runs fine with no loss in performance

  • @srninjastar thats what is great about these GFB bov's is that you can make it recirculate or full atmo. and antwhere inbetween!

  • @srninjastar You are correct. But thats if your talking stock, or "mostly stock" ie if your running a stock turbo with a few bolt ons, youll wanna just keep your stock BOV. However, if you upgrade to a bigger turbo and plan on running more than 20psi, a V2A BOV isnt a bad idea, HOWEVER, that being said, you will need a tune for it so you dont run lean between shifts.
