mr abyudun keyowle or wutever he came to my job at the hospital to talk to kids amd he was teaching my class for 2 days and hes inspiring but i hate him his theories are to harsh and he announced the same crap he tols these kids and made us sing this same gay song
Ok "skaterboy" Just because it has meaning dont call it gay just because it isnt N.E.R.D, Linkn park or whatever you listen to. Just because someone is pro black their either racist or as you put it "too Harsh" in their theory. Come on White boy or black boy with white boy mentalities whichever you are or in between. Wake up because the revolution is coming and brothas like this are trying to wake you up because your future relies on it. God bless the griots!
yea he came 2 my hospital 2 we sang this rap where he says somethin and we gotta respond then he sang this butterfly song. i think hes cool but he started trash talkin white people and i kinda felt insulted cuz im half white but other than that he opened my eyes to alot of things
This is wonderful. The first song is so uplifting. If black kids could say that instead of the pledge of allegiance every morning in elementary school they might start out on a better note. And the second poem... makes me want to be a teacher cause I know our youth are being miseducated everyday.
The video isn't racist, I love the Last Poets, but the notion that poetry = feelings, while rap = meaningless random words is very racist. Such an evaluation is ignorant in many ways, as it reduces everything made in the category of "rap" to nothing, while promoting everything that has been made in the category of "poetry". My opinion: rap IS poetry, and there is good poetry AND bad poetry. Tupac is just as valid as Emily Dickinson.
I can see where you are coming from but on the real, HIP-HOP is poetry, rap is the meaningless random words. There is a difference just take a listen to they lyrics. HIP-HOP is a way of life. Simply put rap isn't to be honest.
great history lesson brothers

I'm so sorry that I missed this event. I moved out of Brooklyn in 2005. This was very entertaining.

Yes I can see how my comment could be misinterpreted as calling the Last Poets racist. Sorry! Let's be internet friends again.
