The Protestant Reformation was not a waste. If it wasn't for that, the One True Church would of been still be charging for absolution. I really do believe, that Martin Luther is in heaven. But I believe Satan got a hold of what God intended and shrewed it so people would not realize what the true Church really is. Let us pray the Divine Mercy Chapel for all the Protestants converting.
@JD27076 --There were efforts within the Church trying to stop abuses even before Martin Loser came along; there was more to the prot reformation than "selling indulgences". Nationalism for instance.
quality over quantity... doesn't matter if were losing the numbers game, what's important is the quality...these are good Christians who are entering the church and i think they will do good as Catholics as well.
It is good for those "ex-catholics" who wound up in Prot. churches to return. What concerns me most is those cradle Catholics who fell into indifference towards the faith in the aftermath of the 60s & 70s confusions. I have both types in my family. People who simply don't go to any type of church any more. Atleast those in Prot. churches care about the truth in some way, they are reachable in a way the others are not.
God bless the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church faithful to our Lord Jesus Christs teachings for 2000 years by the grace of God and for his glory.
I am Catholic because I sincerely believe,by virtue of much cumulative evidence,,that Catholicism is true, and that the Catholic Church is the visible Church divinely-established by our Lord Jesus Christ against which the gates of hell shall cannot and shall not prevail(Mt 16:18),thereby possessing an authority to which I feel bound in Christian duty to submit!
-150 reasons I'm Catholic and you should be too!, by Dave Armstrong-
I am convinced that the Catholic Church conforms much more closely to all of the biblical data, offers the only coherent view of the history of Christianity(i.e.,Christian morality, spirituality, social ethic, and philosophy.
I felt good watching this video, because the video is actually about me. :) Although, I cannot claim that I was a "most devoted protestant deeply committed to scripture and prayer." I was definitely raised in a very faithful protestant home and had a good spiritual upbringing, but at the time I converted I was practically an agnostic... I love my newfound Catholic faith and spirituality.
As time goes on many Protestants are finally waking up to the fact that Jesus instituted only one church, one head(Christ)one body(His church) and some are disatisfied with how fragmented Protestantism is becoming with over 30,000 sects formed from the main denominations and continuing to fragment year by year.
Pentecostalism is now the largest of all denominations but it too is going in a dangerous direction for many, and so we will see groups breaking off and reforming more sects.
Thanks for the video. About a decade ago I began to sense things looked bad in the Catholic Church - attendance at Mass disappearing etc. I recently returned to the Catholic Faith, and while Mass attendance is still down, I sense an undercurrent of hope for the future. I've read many of Scott Hahn's books, I frequent airmaria.com, and I'm beginning to sense a shift. Personally, I feel like we're on the edge of something that's about to explode.
Like the apostate and heretical bodies of Nestorius and Arius before them, the Heresiarchies of Calvin, Knox, Luther and Elizabeth are disintegrating.
@catholicpeter: I doubt if Elizabeth was really a heretic, she just didn't care. Religion was a cynical tool of state craft to her. If her Calvinist supporters had ever threatened her enough & she saw clear bolt hole to Rome, I think she would have taken the expedient.
@sandlawn1 I'm terribly sorry for this problem next time I'll make it slower. Right now I suggest using the pause option by clicking the "play' button it will stop the video from playing vice versa. Thanks and God bless!
@sandlawn1 Very sorry about that I was using Picasa software that don't give enough time to delay the slide show, but you can pause them. You can also Google the title of this video for the complete text. Sorry for this delayed answered been sick for a lot. Thanks and God Bless! Jun(ior)
I think the rise of a/Atheism is due, in large part, to the failings of Protestantism. When I read a/Atheist literature, they are usually railing against Protestant teachings that would be otherwise addressed by Catholic teachings. The Church is also at fault. The sexual-abuse scandal has devastated the Church's credibility, and she is not doing enough to appeal to the young and teach them how to defend their faith.
there is only one home,.and that is the catholic church,.many have gone so far,.but time will come when they will realize and find their way back,.PROTESTANTS come back home and we are willing to forget all had happen before and accept you again,.so all of us will become one with Jesus in his body,.THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
We are living in an age of an information revolution. Heresies taught long ago and handed down to generations need to be reconsidered in the light of facts, which are now easily available.
Too much focus on a particular belief system and not enough on God. Why would Jesus care what church you belong to. Maybe its more about money and power than actual faith.
the correct translation of Matt 16:18 "..the power of DEATH shall not prevail against it". That is why Jesus also said this about religious people Matt 8:22".. leave the dead to bury their dead but you (who are alive) come follow me"
Jesus (Jehoshua: Strongs concordance 2424) had a similar problem with the church (synagogue) of his time. That is why He said Matt 15:8 "In vain do they worship me teaching as doctrines the precepts of men"
This is such a pedantic and uninformed "canned" statement that reflects a deeper anti-Catholicism that seems to be not only imbedded in our contemporary society but tolerated and even reinforced. I encourage you to look more deeply into this important issue!
@yarrw Jesus DOES care about which Church you belong to, for he founded only ONE true holy and apostolic church. This is historical fact. Anything thing else is a denial of the evidence.
In June 2001 There were 33,820* PROTESTant Denominations. Every week 5+ new denominations started per *Oxford World Encyclopedia ~ June 2001 (A Protestant Pub.)

Yes, excellent video, but please delete the music and replace with something less intrusive. Also the words go by way too fast to read it all, and some of the typeface can't be see through the photos. Great message, but just needs a bit more work so we can get the message more clearly. Blessings!
Never confuse religion with being born of the Spirit. Once you have reached the age of cognizance, you need to be born of the Spirit to enter the Kingdom. It's the way Jesus broke it down to us. Peace, A.
Because of original sin, we are born without grace in our souls, so there is no way for us to have fellowship with God. Jesus became man to bring us into union with his Father.
He said no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is first born of "water and the Spirit" (John 3:5)—this refers to baptism.
Through baptism we are born again, but this time on a spiritual level instead of a physical level. We are washed in the bath of rebirth (Titus 3:5).
This is a partial truth, for you have to include in the equation all those people who had relationships with God (read the Old Testament and the accounts at Jesus birth) prior to Jesus dying on the cross. We do have the capacity to communicate with God, but placing hard emphasis on the word COMMUNION that is only possible through what Jesus did by dying for our sin, and rising from the dead. Enjoy the Christmas time. A.

Jesus promised, "I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it" (Matt. 16:18).
Meaning his church (Catholic) will never be destroyed by bad members and anti-Catholics until his return.

We are baptized into Christs death and therefore share in his Resurrection (Rom. 6:37).
Baptism cleanses us of sins and brings the Holy Spirit and his grace into our souls (Acts 2:38, 22:16).
And the apostle Peter is perhaps the most blunt of all:
"Baptism now saves you" (1 Pet. 3:21). Baptism is the gateway into the Church.
The founders of the Born Again Christian Denomination distorted the meaning of the true meaning of Baptism
