Great video, this is for the do it yourself person. Truthfully after you by helium for around $150.00 and then rent the gauge and buy the balloons you save yourself $50-$75.00. Hire a Balloon decorator and enjoy your event we are a decorating company in Chicago IL makin memories 4 u .com we can decorate for you .But if you have the time this video is great shows you in detail how to. Good luck. Ken
what a great video.. I have a question.. How long does helium usually last ?.. I am planning my son's first bday party and i dont think i would have the time to do that the same day..Is it possible if i did the arch the day before ? Thankss

Does anyone now how can i make a pipe and wood base stand for my balloon column? its gonna be an outside party. And i cant find any instruccions or videos.
@TheBRIGHTSIDE86 u can go 2 homedepot, buy a piece of wood and get them to cut it. U can also get the screws, the medal piece u twist the pipe n & the pipe there also.... U will need a drill to screw the screws n though. I think I purchased a 2x2, 1/2 inch thick. I was able to make 4 out of that 1 piece of wood.
this is so dump ......, you dont need high float or hellium and the way you do it is so dump... it only take 30 min to do a balloon arch,... just air only air and a string
You can build with regular air, but you would need probably a pvc pipe to hold the balloons in an arch position. If you use helium, the balloons will arch themselves when you attach each side to a heavy weight on the floor. With normal hair you need something to hold them up with.
whatever. i used to make these back in high school for school functions. we didn't use that high float substance, though. and we'd use just two balloons at a time tied together, not four.
awful technique, you need at leats 2 days to do that arch.... why helium? normal air it´s cheaper and you get a better form of the arch... for me that arch takes me 5 minutes to build...
You are a friggin moron. Have you ever blown up a balloon with your breath? Ever noticed that it doesn't float or especially float away into the sky if you let it go??? Do you know why? NO HELIUM.
Helium is lighter than air-that's why balloons filled with helium float on a string at parties and balloons you blow up with the breath from your lungs do not.
No, YOU are a friggin moron'. He's right: this IS an awful technique. Professionals usually use some kind of rigid backbone to attach the balloons to so they can control the shape of the arch and don't need to use helium. The arch in this video looks ugly, non-uniform and unprofessional. If I hired someone to create an arch and they gave me this, I wouldn't pay for it. So, you managed to post a condescending reply with is also completely wrong. YOU FAIL.
I HAVE made balloon arches before using the method I described WITHOUT using any sort of rigid backbone, etc. Simply string, balloons, & helium. all that is ever needed. Watch ANY of the other videos here & there are no rigid anything used.
So explain again exactly how do I fail when I have already WON??
the helium from the tank will fill the balloons faster than your breath, true, but also the helium it was gives it the arch shape. you fasten the ends of the arch properly, but the helium makes the balloons rise without needing any other support.
Thanks so much for posting this..I'm planning a party for my baby girl she will be one. I am looking foward to trying this. I will like to know what kind of strings do i need for this?
IF using hi-loat, you will need to make the balloons big enough to offset the weight of the hi-float.; do not underfinflate them. Personally I don't use hi-float on a spiral arch as the balloons do not dry uniformly. Just use bigger balloons. Also if you ARE using hi-float, do not tilt the cylinder back as in the video as it will run back and block the valve.
I do this for a living at my business and none of this is as easy as this person is telling you... for one thing you can use ANY size balloon that you want and you do not need to use the Hi-Float if the arch is only going to be up for a small amount of time.
It depends on the size of the balloons, your experience level and if you have help (it would be nice to have a few other people to help you out). Even if you have another person to help and go fairly fast it will still probably take you a full day.
Your video was great! How many balloons of each color should i buy to make 2arches (same size you made them) and 2 3ft pillars?

i think you have to do it with helium because theyre in a string, and the string donst have an arch form...

Pricing depends on the area in which you live, size of arch and type of arch. We currently do not offer these services; check around locally.
