@crisss543 People have drown in shallower water. One major factor is seizure induced paralysis/loss of bodily control. Seizures can be caused by anything from bleeding in the brain, to disorders such as epilepsy, to simply having low blood sugar. The other common factor is simply not being able to pull your face out of the shallow water in time. That's how Ray Charles' little brother died, fell into a wash tub and couldn't clamber out in time, because of the awkward position in which he fell.
