iv just been given a flute for xmas and im really struggeling to teach myself, would anyone out there like to give me few pointers via skype? my user name is tootingtheflute,
I'm taking band this year and I got an artley Elkhart from my school. I was wondering the price range if I wanted to buy one in the future and if anyone knows a cheap place to get one. Thank you :)
for beginners, is it okay if i buy the not so expensive and not so cheap flutes? like 600-700 dollars?( SGD) thanks and how long is it to learn the basic notes?
@atlsweetie1521 My parents owned a bed and breakfast and a guest gave us a 1967 artley elkwood flute. the local music shop said it needed alot of repair, but really it just needed some grease to put it together, and it plays fine, concidering it is 40+ years old!
@6120rocks i sure what you mean but if you mean buying the flutes with a reasonable price then i'd say that's fine. learning the basic notes takes 5 minutes, literally. i found my old flute at the back of my wadrobe a few days ago and forgot all the notes but i took a look at an old learning book of mine and now and i'm playing like a pro :) it's alternating between the notes that's hard, it takes some getting used to.
@6120rocks also, make sure you look up how to assemble a flute the correct way because 75 percent of flutists don't actually know and when all the parts are alligned correctly, the flute's sound is beautiful and the flute is easy to play. If the flute is not assembled correctly i can assure you that you'll find difficulty getting a sound out of it. I remember when i was a kid i had a silly teacher who don't show me and i had to find out myself off the internet a few years later. x
Thanks again! And by the way... I think you're very charming too :)

What if you fell more comfortable with your hands the other way around. Le your left in on the last three while, your right is closer to your face?

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it, and if so many people thought it was good, your probably just jealous!
