Really neat. The ceramic knives are 1st rate. What I want to know is what brand and model of cutting board that is with the neat removeable bowl and where can I get one?
I wear goggles when chopping onions. Laugh if you will, but it is my solution. I got them for less than a dollar almost 20 years ago and works great. Cheap solution from getting onion tears. I don't use candles for fear of creating a fire. I tried using a fan but it blows dust all over the place and dust eventually gets to the food. I settled with my goggles even though it isn't attractive to wear and very cheap. I don't have to keep buying candles or matches and don't have to waste electricity.
One trick I use when chopping onions is I have two or three lit candles very close to my work surface. They seem to eliminate the vapours that cause the tears. Another trick is to have a strong fan running very near your surface. However, don't combine candles AND the fan!
i'd like to know also. that is cool that the corner can be pulled out like that, so you don't have to try to put it all on the knife to transfer it. it can get messy.
Where can I get that cutting board? I've gone through pages at Amazon, and can't find anything like it.

@rey619yomama It's a ceramic knife. He's got a deal with Kyocera. Some people like them but they're not as good as steel for most everything.

@lettuceeattogether I heard if you chew gum while chopping onions you would not get watery eyes or tears..try it and let me know...

Ming Tsai is the master of kitchen shortcuts.
robtapli 4 years ago
kitchen shortcuts? this is terribly standard, theres nothing 'revolutionary' here buddy.
phixxwutwut 4 years ago
It might not be revolutionary, but it is still a valuable lesson for the novice cook. Great demonstration.
DigitalOberon 4 years ago 8
i agree, it is great for the novice cook. but it isnt a shortcut. how else would you dice an onion?
