Excellent variant of Patrick Joseph (P.J) McCall's 1899 ballad about a girl wishing and singing to wed. The earliest recordings of Newfoundland songs appeared around the 1930s. Among the most popular were those made by The McNulty Family, an Irish-American group that appeared frequently on radio and visited the island for concerts. Thanks for sharing. :-)

The Mcnulty Family was an Irish American group from the forties and fifties. They were very popular in Newfoundland and did many shows there.
