I have the right to judge construction bc I am an owner of a company. The realestate market dropped its been almost impossible to keep workers on the payroll. If a home is selling for 300 thous and it cost me 400 to build the math is easy we do not work.the unions did nothing to help lower their rates so we can keep working.they would rather have men sit on the bench. This is the case in most southern states, you have union and non-union members working side-by-side. The only problem I have with right-to-work laws is the fact that those non-union members usually benefit from the contracts that the unions secure for their dues-paying members.

Sounds great to live there, then. In Colorado our right-to-work bill was defeated, pretty much every business that HAS a union must REQUIRE its members to join.

I worked at Safeway for 6 months without joining the union because hey, I was a bagger and didn't want to pay the fees. Then my boss found out and said he would get in trouble if he scheduled me any more hours before I joined the union. I met with the union representative and he told me I owed them $500. It was BS.

Im a union electrician in New York City. I make 49 dollars an hour, and my benefit package is 31 dollars an hour. Out of 52 weeks a year, i am unemployed 12 weeks out of the year. If employees are able to unionize easier or gain this "leverage" Obama is talking about, then prices of EVERYTHING will RISE! Unions do often act as monopolists, improving wages and working conditions for their members at the expense of capital holders, consumers, and nonunion (unorganized) labor. The higher wages unions win for their members either reduce business profits or get passed on to consumers in the form of higher prices.
