No, liquid nitrogen is not perfectly safe to consume obviously. Although, liquid nitrogen evaporates quickly at room temperature. So, you are not consuming the liquid nitrogen. The liquid nitrogen only froze the ice cream, and is not contained in it.

@Strawburry100 Yes you can. In physic class last term my Physic teacher ate liquid nitrogen. To eat it put those grams cracker in the nitrogen and it will suck some and eat it. You will be breathing alot of white smoke and its harmless.

Good video. You can acquire some liquid nitrogen through your local welding supply store. Just Go there with a thermos and say you would like to use some for a school project and they'll usually give you some to you for free. It would also help to sound somewhat intelligent when you ask for it due to the fact that it is a very dangerous substance. If you can't spell nitrogen you probably shouldn't be doing this experiment.
