I dont think it is confined to acapella. I think it is more about the scales and the way it is sung and they have used 1 voice with a response from many as a reply which is very typical of its use in mass or even in monastic daily life. In church for the sung mass in Latin, it was accompanied by organ music, in a monastery, it was possibly more likely to be acapella. Gregorian chant actually has many facets to it ... and like most things develope or evolved over time...
gregorian chant is all about the harmony of the voices, the humbleness ok the naked voices - adding a enya style backgroung to the chant ruins it... deprives it from its form.
Thank the Lord for the old school tradition ;))) All ways that lead us in a good direction for sure but please God, do spare us from more Chill Out Moments - Kyrie eleison !
This is very nice, and with my head phones sounds even better.
Thanks for the upload.

Love it - the fact that is so non-trditional - so not "DRY" or boring - this is inspiration.

Perfect music for a supermarket or an elevator. Those who produced this insulting garbage should be buried alive.
