rap actually has distant roots in blues, because rap grew from disco which grew from funk which grew from soul which grew from r&b which grew from blues.
Like it or not. Music comes from people of all colors and styles... I dont care for M&M... but he is obviously talented... Rap or Blues or Rock or any other type of music can be enjoyed by or turned down by any person. shut your eyes and use your ears.
Biggie n Tupac displayed remarkable talent as to any background music. Eminem shows that a violent lifestyle is reason for their deaths. Be it gang violence or carelessness of not seeing the bigger picture which is essentially the question of "Why am I trying to live if I am just living to fight?" Why were two past friends that angry to let there egos destroy life so beautiful? "Be not deceived, God is not mocked; whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he reap."
too bad they raped this song. as "yet another white guy dying to be an old black man blues player" everyone feels a down time in there lives and if the kind of music anyone of any race makes reflects that "down time" and writing music to embrace that emotion of sadness/despair is blues, the most soulful down to earth music around.
from a black guy (me) that is really unfair. Yes blues started with blacks, but blues is universal, everybody experiences the blues. You dont have to be black or white.
Tragic isn't enough to say how bad this is.. From what he said about the history of ot, it seems like the new one has a complete opposite meaning too.
The chorus of the tupac/biggie rendition has more to do with the fact that they both died and the whole chorus has a somber mood to it, which death usually does. They both died to live. Eminem could've used better verses for both artists but especially Biggie. Atleast Tupac's verse had something to do with somebody who died in a result of just trying to live by any means necessary.

Edgar is obviously happy because at least a few more people got to hear his favourite song, but the treatment of it is a horrible travesty.
