  • Saxual violence.

  • comment \o/

  • So excited for their tour

  • wheres the rest of this song??

  • The Best

  • Three of my most favorite musicians are in this band. I began listening because the music was good. Realized that Carter Beauford was hands down about as good as a drummer can be, then that the bassist could freaking play too, then that daves voice soothes my soul. id give anything to sit in a studio with these guys and watch them make this stuff

  • J'adore !!!!! =D

  • most incredible mix of sounds ever...

  • 3:16 is that lyrics in front of carter?

  • @1ostinspac3 yes

  • I want to hear where it's going as the video ends!

  • 06:55 - he knows what's about to happen... :)

  • The fortieth first song on every fine playlist.

  • blowing minds in 2012!

people never heard of real music? send them this way! :D

    thanks DMB.

    sincerely,

    fellow music addict

  • Niceee

  • one moar view felipe

  • best jam ever!!! carter and jeff, great connection

  • My Favorite song from DMB. Loved them since the first time I heard "Crash Into Me". Such a memorable experience to see them in concert! Amazing.

  • I love this band so badly *.*

  • Fodasticos forever !!!

  • Now imagine how many times they played this. No matter how much fun it looks like they're having that shit has to be repetitive. LMAO. My favorite song by DMB though :D

  • One of the greatest examples of great music is the ability to play the same song , when necessary, differently according to the venue, atmosphere and energy exhchanged between the musicians. I've said it before and I'll say it again; the DMB is one of the absolute greatest bands, especially in live performances , that we could or would EVER witness. Pure Musicianship, personified!

  • Every comment make me watch this song again! Keep'em coming, guys!!

  • @felipeviegas Comment :)

  • Im sorry wait no Im not,t hat may have been the greatest........solo / video I have heard / seen on youtube!! TOTAL EARGASM!!! :)

  • man I love this drummer awesome!!

  • Eu ainda não vi música mais loka que essa!!!! Um espontaneo mais fóda que esse! PTQP!

  • 6:50- 9:10....too funky

  • CARTER + JEFF = EPIC!!!!!!

  • Jeff Coffin straight takes over this song and makes it one of the top 2 or 3 #41 if not THE best #41 I've heard.

  • I love their sound lately. Coffin's *hot* sax style, Ross adding some needed brass, and Reynolds on electric guitar. It's definitely a big change from "Under the Table and Dreaming" and "Crash".

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • how can you NOT play so beautifully when you have that sweet-faced drummer's smile in front of you? he is so cute!!!!! :D

  • E tem gente q fala q CINE, RESTART, LUAN SANTANA, JUSTIN BIEBER e Cia. são musicos... VSF! MUSICO É ISSO AK CARALHO! O dia q esses porra fizer metade desse som ak, agente conversa... ;D

  • A cried. Thats it

  • If there ever was someone sounding so sexy while being violently raped over and over. it would be the sound from Jeff Coffin.

  • The day Carter Beuford hits a beat wrong, the planets will fall out of orbit. His rhythm is the tightest thing in the universe! The other guys aren't bad either ;)

  • @vitchb for this reason he's one of the best in the history...

  • each time I see Coffin playing the sax like that i'm thinking "ok, he's gonna have a stroke any second now"...

  • Yes indeed, Tears did flow. I can't lie. Jeff Coffin and Beauford interplay was absolutely phenomenal. This entire version in my opinion has to be the best I've heard them do. (DMB)

  • 10:13 every time the light flashes you can see the huge smile on the face of every fan in the audience. gotta love'm

  • This is my favourite song. The dmb is my favourite band. This video is amazing to say the least! I love dmb!

  • Um... wow?

  • R.I.P Leroi, i truly respect you. But this is BY FAR the best live performance of this song, IMO.

  • sabe algo de saxo jeff jajaja no puede perdon no pueden tocar asi estos culiaa...

  • I wanna press the 'like' button one million times! OMG

  • the thing about saying this is the best version is that you can change your mind about 5s later when you hear another version... and then another 10 seconds later you change again... and it goes on....

  • the bassist is totaly unterrated!

  • simply amazing

  • @RafaHidalg0

Coffin is probably a better saxophonist. I'm not sure he's a better musician.

I will say this though: LeRoi played with soul and added more to the bands music.

  • Jeff and Carter could have their own show. They're just brilliant.

  • I love dmb

  • I wish that solo could last forever!

  • They're so amazing because they truely love what they do. You can just tell. I've seen them and they're just ecstatic to be making their music.

What more can you ask for?

    DAVE FOR PRESIDENT!

  • i think they need to mic the trumpet and not use a stand mic. dude plays too soft and goes w/ what the sax is playing.

  • I feel thankful that this 1 was caught on video...

  • Mr.Saxobeat

  • As usually Coffin KILLED IT!!

  • 10:25 my cat spraky made that sound once when i stood on his tail

  • 10:50 is DEFINETLY the Zenith of this Song. Damn this is so crazy... LOVE IT !

  • this is my favorite song of dave matthews.band i watched 3 shows of them here on rio de janeiro. marvelous!!! very exciting.

    congratulations for the post!!

  • Just aint the same without LeRoi!

  • The crowds reaction says it all at 10:58

  • The crowds reaction says it all at 10:58

  • This is so pure!!

  • Carter and all the others keep getting better and better with time... And their songs do too... Just Tim spoils a little bit the atmosphere... However Is this the best performance of this song 'til now? What do you think? I think it's full of emotion and technically perfect... PS Stefan enchants me with his playing... Just so magic...

  • @LeoTadde It's hard to say which one is the best performance. I think one can say the best solo. And IMHO, the best solo ever made in this music is the one from Europe CD, also in my videos (just the sax solo). The new version from Live at Wrigley Field (also in my videos) it's a great version too!

  • @felipeviegas Well, maybe looking at the fact that they always change their songs maybe it is impossible to state which one is the best performance of a song...

  • @felipeviegas I love the solo done by Victor Wooten to this song. Very old recording of it.

  • @MikeGipsonUSAF 1998!!!! Perfect bass solo!!!!!

  • @LeoTadde I just don't agree with the hole "Tim spoils the atmosphere"... I think he adds an edge that i always missed in the band... I think he adapts very well to the feeling of the band too. I honestly miss his guitar when the band is playing without him. But its just my opinion...

  • @edusonek Well, "de gustibus non disputandum est" latins would say, everybody has his own taste in everything... By the way I think Tim should play only some songs... I think that he is perfect in some songs and a bad add in other ones... Just my opinion obviously...

  • @LeoTadde The version of #41 at the Mile HIgh Music Festival is pretty dang good. Especially the jam parts towards the end. LeRoi was still with them for that, so the sax part is pretty epic.

  • @LeoTadde Tim Spoils? What? How do you even begin to write that sentence? Tims all over that on the studio version playing that same riff.

  • @LeoTadde Thanks for posting!!

  • Its crazy, because Jeff is a Beast, but his tone is not Leroi!!

  • @LeoTadde how does Tim spoil the atmosphere?

  • @darazmusen18 Simply the electric guitar doesn't fit most of DMB songs...

  • @LeoTadde It's an incredible performance.. but I think that one of the best versions is one from 1998 at Centrum Centre, featuring Jeff and Bela Fleck

  • @jorgeignaciohuarte the 4/20/1998 version that clocks in @ like 38 min..?

  • @andy98258 You're thinking of 4/20/2002- 32 minutes.

  • Esplêndido quando os músicos criam a sintonia que o batera e o saxofonista demonstram neste SHOW! Simplesmente perfeita!

  • This is why I play music. This is why when life fucks with my head I keep going. I don't kill, steal, I don't do drugs - jeez, I don't even drink. This is my high. This is how I cope. This is why I cope. Thanks guys.

  • This performance right here should win a freakin grammy award.

  • Awesome riff from Bela Fleck & The Flecktones' "Sojourn of Arjuna".... so much groove!

  • what effect is tim using during the violin solo?

  • AMAZING!

  • Am I bastard for thinking that Jeff Coffin is a way better saxophonist than Leroi was...?

  • @RafaHidalg0 Not in my opinion. I think you are absolutely right.

  • @felipeviegas I think that way too, but I like LeRoi more, just for the person he was, but I agree with you, yeah Jeff Coffin is better

  • @felipeviegas I agree something about Coffin's playing is to magical not to like. No doubt Roi is missed but I think as far as replacements go there isn't a better one out there.

  • @RafaHidalg0 Alot of people say that...it seems that this is the consensus only because Jeff actually moves around stage and brings a level of excitement to his playing...But if you said he fits DMB better than ya you would be a bastard lol

  • @RafaHidalg0 not better, just different. their styles aren't the same. Jeff Coffin might be a better jammer than Roi was, but Roi was the soul of this band. He brought a lot of emotion to the songs.

Jeff Coffin does rock out though! i'm glad the band found someone so they can keep playing and making music.

  • @RafaHidalg0 You aren't, especially if you're basing that off of this song. Jeff and Roi play(ed) with very different styles. LeRoi was great at this kind of funk stuff, but he really shined on the quiet solos when he was sort of whispering. Jeff, on the other hand, lives for this high energy, fast-paced groovy stuff.

  • @RafaHidalg0 yes, yes you are.

What i will say, Jeff is great, but LeRoi is the only saxophonist to fit with this band. Jeff is perfect for the Mu'tet and Flecktones. No one can replace Roi, nor play with his grace

  • @RafaHidalg0

    No. He is better.

  • @RafaHidalg0 I'm sure there are better reasons ;) But you're not wrong either!

  • @RafaHidalg0 yeah ur a bastard,, but then again, so am I

  • @RafaHidalg0 most sax players would probably agree with you. but idk me personally i like the way leroi played.

  • @RafaHidalg0 you should hear him play some jazz charts. Very nice and knowledgable guy.

  • This is the best video in all of youtube

  • My God, the tones of all the instruments are just so warm and inviting :)

  • Jordan Rudess on sax

  • i play the tenor sax and jeff coffin is my inspiration!

  • The best video with excellent quality but with bad sound of the drum I didn't heard the power of that drum like in the other videos.

  • I could just loop this video from 0:08 to 0:45 and listen it from now to eternity...

  • Haja pulmão!

  • Sem palavras.....ouça essa musica 10 vezes por dia no minimo, fantastica!!

  • was there that night it was amazing

  • my Now wife and I first made passionate Love to DMB and now everytime we listen to it together, there's something that happens in our hearts and we just look at each other and smile to no end!!! Thank you DMB, i know LeRoi is up there happy to know that he was part of such a beautiful thing!!

  • this song makes me cry with emotion

  • I hear this song at least once a day, otherwise I can't go ahead

  • @roinestolt Exactly!!

  • @roinestolt I do the exact same thing..

  • excelente

  • 4:48 hahahahhahahahah

  • @felipeviegas At the break Jeff plays the song "Sojourn Of Arjuna" :D great lol

  • @riahclaire96 Oh! Yes indeed!! I wrote that down on description! Great song! Great intervention on #41!! Love this music! And more than ever with Coffin!

  • @felipeviegas Oh ahaaa lol now I see that you put it there haha word

  • What is that trumpet players name? :)

  • @robciks4 Mr. Rashawn Ross

  • I love this song, this performance

  • Leroi was always better.

  • carter can do more with one hand than most drummers can do with two

  • he throws in some heartbeat intro at the end too, very nice

  • This is the best live version.

  • Waow, so much passion with those instruments

  • Carters expression at 7:33 is why the the world plays music. Sheer joy and a feeling that you can only get when having a conversation with someone through instruments....absolute perfection

  • Great upload brother.

Any more you could put up from this concert?

  • Wow this is amazing. I just met Jeff Coffin today, and it was an experience of a lifetime.

  • dankk

  • Simply amazing

  • Vi um solo assim em portugal, no Optimus Alive, simplesmente genial !

  • Pero Jeff Coffin se la come...

  • Quieran o no, hace falta LeRoi Moore =/

  • Orgasmo musico-mental D:

  • I love Leroi, but thank god for Jeff!!!!!!! This band is Amazing!! Best Band EVER!

  • man.. they're making love.. carter and coffin

  • Wow. Geez. Wow. This is one of the best performances of this song I've ever seen, well one of the best performances of any song at that. The musicality between Beauford and Coffin is completely unbelievable, and outright amazing. Even if you muted the sound you can just feel the music between them by watching, but don't mute it, there is not one second of this performance worth missing!

  • @GeddyPastorius It is indeed incredible. But you have to check my other video of this song, just of the sax solo, recorded on Luca, Italy. I think that one is the best sax performance of this music ever. And there is really a talk going on among Coffin and Beauford. Amazing! Thanks for watching!

  • This is fantastic.

  • I was there. WOW.

  • that man behind the drummkit is totally sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @bibox8 The one and only CARTER BEAUFORD! :D

  • Does anyone have this as an .mp3 they can send me? Definitely one of the better renditions of #41. It would be GREATLY appreciated.

  • @Bunst16 go to keepvid.com. You can rip the file right off you tube and then drag it right into itunes.

  • Thank You. Incredible sax. I've seen DMB a few times, but never sober. I vow next time.

  • Genial!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The best band EEEEEEEEEEEVER!

  • THIS IS FRIGGIN AWESOME!!! IM JUMPIN IN MY CHAIR! IM A DRUMMER BUT THAT SAX IS KILLIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @4lgiiu I am a drummer also. And a musician, first place. That sax is perfect!

  • holy sax i just had a musical orgasm

  • @ellendigsyou and i had an eargasm

  • I love this video! :D

  • @bettywaung...sax player's name is Jeff Coffin, not Collins

  • only jeff collins can make that overtone for practice only stuff into music

  • @bettywaung it's actually pretty common in any form of jazz

  • @bettywaung coltrane does it in nearly everything, and he's... well... coltrane... so i'm not surprised other sax players have used it

  • fuckidy fuck fucksticks why the fuck did i miss this gig gah !

and ya sax @ 07:30 onwardsis a killer, Hes done Leroy Proud

  • freaking awesome sax!

  • yeah
