you are so good.. and u do such a good job on the charts.. are they hard to do? i mean - it looks like it's difficult to get some of the stuff on? or is it pretty much the same as doing a real face? - and what brand of watercolor paper do you use?

Thanks so much! Face charts take about 3x the amount of blending and you have to be careful about dragging your hand through colors and smudging them...just take your time and use them to help you work on building a collection of your looks! Its nice to have a portfolio with some face charts. I just got a brand I saw at Micheals...it had baby blue packaging. I think I posted a pic of it on one of my face chart videos...Happy New Year!

yeah - i went to the store yesterday, bought the paper, and did one myself - it came out a lot better than i expected though - the only thing i had a problem with was the eyelashes.. can't seem to make them look real or thin enough to not cover the shadow i put on the lid - it is fun though =]

Yep, I use real lipstick, I then press a powder really lightly on top to decrese the stickiness. I use eyeliner to create lashes...I actually use shadow to "line" the eye (MAC Carbon, wet). I will try to get a video out on the stuff I use.

So you just use normal eyeshadow and stuff? how does the shadow grab on to the paper? Don't it just fall off? Great video, i'm gonna try it sometime!

You have to press the shadow into ther paper (watercolor paper) and blend it in really good. Use really small brushes. It takes longer than on an actual face, but you have a permanant copy of a look/style/technique to put in your portfolio.

I use watercolor paper I buy from Micheals...the department stores dont share (bitches! LOL!)...I got the image off of google images and I print my own charts!

Those charts are great. I love that you said to save money and play with makeup. the other day Owen napped for two hours, i sat in my bathroom and did about 10 looks..I even foiled my entire face with gold pigment just because! lol! Makes your pores show up though, not cute. Gave my face a break for about 2 days w/ no makeup after that.

Yeah, I do free-lance makeup, so its nice to have the charts to show people looks...it helps them visulaize colors and stlyes (center highlight, diffrent intensities, etc.).

What do you use when making your own face charts?

I've been making some of my own, mainly to remind myself of ideas I may have had but not gotten time to do, but I only have a normal 24 pack of pencil crayons so I can never seem to get the colors I want.

I use watercolor paper I bought at Micheals...I print out my own charts and I use actual makeup (eyeshadows, bronzers, blush, and lipsticks)...blending takes about 3x longer on charts, but you have a look you can keep forever!

By pencils, I meant makeup pencils (eyeliners and such). But for face charts, you can only use shadows (loose powders are a bad idea too!)...use pressed shadows and blushes. SMall brushes work best.

I have a little tupperware kit I keep in my car with a pallette, some charts and my cheaper brushes. WHen I go out to lunch by myself, I take it in with me and just practise. Its fun for me though...Im a makeup nerd! LOL!

I never thought of that... I may bring a few brushes and my 96 color pallet with me some time. That's much easier then taking all of my other stuff with me xD

Yeah...my husband works a lot, so I find myself eating alone a lot. This help me perfect my art and Im not sitting at the table eating a loaf of bread! LOL!
