  • Its my first time in university so Im having to cook for myself. Missing my mom's pakistani food! Anyways we'll see how this one goes! Thanks!!

    Reyhan

  • wow wow wow ... !

i have never boiled an egg in my life and now i have made this deliciously delicious chicken karahi following your recipe :)

i dont know your name but thank you very much :)

    Ali

  • @carpediem43

i jus wanted to ask why you dont put onions as i always heard onion is one of the main things but i dont really cook and want to learn as i hate using onions it takes soo long.

  • @Gumnaam3 onions are not used in chicken karhai...but its a must for most of other pakistani dishes...it makes the base for good taste in pakistani cooking :)

  • What's all this about Muslims and Indians? Now I can't see any of the important comments, the ones that were actually relevant to this video and whether or not the recipe was good. I just wanted to cook something for my family as a surprise, not read a lecture on Muslims and Indians. -.-

  • My cousin followed your recipe and I must admit she made such a delicious one and I fell in love with it-so I asked her recipe and she showed me YouTube;) and I love your style for the simple fact that you make it so easy to follow and very simplified instruction. Thanks.

  • This has turned out soo good! I almost never ever cook but I made this right now and I'm going to surprise my mom with lunch when she comes back from work! I hope she likes it too! :D

  • thanks for the video.....tomAto or toMAYto lol

  • wow, a bitchfight over FOOD. Whats next?

  • how the hell did religion come as an issue in a cooking video?? you sickhead people that bring the bad name to islam. i'm a muslim myself but i am against extremist like this.. just stay in peace like how the religion want us to be and just watch the damn video or atleast let us watch in peace! sickheads!

  • @blablablablyful exactly!! dunno why ppl just fight everywhere. Muslims live in India too.

  • some asshole can't live in peace. Now they bring religion even in food and cooking. try and open your mind and live a little more

  • Hi just watched your recipe :)

I would like to know can I use a chinese wok to cook and also flame sould be kept medium or high when u cook it

    Warm Regards :)

  • i dont know y alwayz every where u ppl started a conflict of hindu muslim or indian pakistani...... n y u all forget da main thing da video for which u r here... we all r here just to c da recipie of chicken karahi... so its better to watch it n comment abt it.. sooo ive just had ma lunch n i cooked dis chicken karahi n its awesum thanku so much for sharing your wonderful recipie.

  • thanks alot, i made this today, and it was yummy and spicy :)

  • In the name of God/Allah/Bhagwan pls do not fight whether it is pAkistani or indian recipe .It is good one so enjoy it.

  • what ever, hindu muslim or blah blah blah....., nice recipe. keep it up.

  • Do you use any Lemon or vinigar

  • @steven596 ,no we dont use lemon or vineger in karahi.

  • @carpediem43 if you wanna make Cikofte then make it is very nice

  • @EverythingIslam don't be so proud! There are many other religions in India, other than Hinduism. Being Indian does not automatically mean you are a Hindu. And another thing, "delicious food" doesn't rely on race, it lies in the person making the food, ok. So no need to be so racist.

  • @evleenjeet I am not proud, I want credit to be given where it is due...I can't see how saying a dish has a Muslim background is racist when before I started commenting, everyone else was arguing about whether this dish was Indian, Pakistani or Afghan. Guess race has nothing to do with that!!!

  • yar tm na to is ma onion dala hi ni is ki kaya waja ha

  • @bazigarkhan hahaha true desi!! onion in everything :P

  • thanks for the recipe :)..

  • is ko nahe pakana ata

  • nice demo. and lovely voice of you

  • this looks so delicious

  • This is an amazing recipe I have to say! Just tried it and its finger lickin' good =)

  • what is zera, can i get it at any grocery store?

  • @faruqi Zeera is Cumin. And yes, you should be able to get it from any large supermarket or Indian/ Pakistani / Arab grocery store.

  • I tried it but chicken didnt seem to have soaked the spices properly?? Even though curry was gud but chicken came out bland from inside..Do we need to marinate?? Any suggestions from ppl who have tried the recipie and if they faced the same problem??

  • What's this nonsense about Indian food. Indians have falsely promoted all meat dishes cooked in the Subcontinent as"Indian" , but the truth sis its against Hinduism to even eat meat!! All meat dishes from the subcontinent were originated by Muslims, (doesn't matter where they came). Muslims used spices in the areas they ruled to create delicious food. The Hindus with spices at their disposal, never had the sense to cook proper food. Now they cheat the world claiming every good idea was theirs!

  • @EverythingIslam Itna zeher. Itna ghussa. Allah maaf kare!

  • Comment removed

  • @EverythingIslam I agree that all meat dishes did originate from Muslims as Hinduism is against eating meat and animal products...though we shouldn't be rude to say they cheat the world..It's not necessary.

  • @AcccountDisabled ....You just want to be politically correct and I like to be blunt...OK, they don't "cheat"...they just "subtly avoid telling the truth about the origin of most of their meat dishes" ...good enough for you???

  • @EverythingIslam I agree with you 1000%, mashallah very wel said brother I want to talk to you more regarding such matters.

  • @getlive7 sure, send me a message on anything you want to talk about.

  • @EverythingIslam really! who told you it is against Hinduism to eat meat??? only Brahmins dont eat meat and their population is like 4% amongst Indians. Educate yourself brother.

  • @EverythingIslam you really are an embarrassment to Muslims

  • @ummix3 why are you embarrassed about the fact that a Muslim created the dish called chicken karahi?? Are you embarrassed to be Muslim???

  • @EverythingIslam dear 'highly pissed off' - religion does not create cuisines, cultures & regions do. I am sure the Holy Koran has no instructions about cooking Karahi chicken. and i hope you will agree that Muslims belong to a variety of cultural background, for eg the Bengali Muslims or south Indian Muslims or Indonesians have no attachment to north Indian or Pakistani cuisine.

  • @dasalekhya

FYI, religion DOES create cuisines. Religion dictates what kinds of foods you can have and so gives the focus on creating cuisines based on permissible foods. Muslims may belong to any culture but they are Muslims first as there is no place for division amongst Muslims on the basis of the country they live in. Islamic culture overrides country culture. You may want to divide Muslims but Islam says Muslims are one whether they are in Bengal, Pakistan or North India.

  • @EverythingIslam Hence even though you seem to be sensitive about Islam, your argument actually devalues it by bringing it down to issues of cooking. Furthermore, indeed meat eating in south Asia increased phenomenally with rise of Islam, however these cuisines were developed by Muslims OF South Asia. They were NOT imported. I have lived long enough with Arabs, Turks and Persians, they have similar dishes, but nothing like these, which are unique to S-Asia [hence pan-Indian].

  • @dasalekhya I don't think talking of food in terms of religion devalues it because our religion is a way of life and it discusses each and every aspect of life in terms of religion. As long as food is hailed as "Indian" and "Indian food" is promoted fiercely all over the world it is a matter if of Indian cultural pride, but the minute you talk about Islam's footprint on a dish, Islam is devalued!! What double standards!

  • @EverythingIslam and lastly, the present day Republic of India has 161 million dedicated Muslims (which is about 11% of all Muslims); it has had continuous Islam for the last 1100 years; the 2nd largest mosque & 1 of the 3 most important Islamic seminaries - so if something is labelled as a 'Muslim achievement', then by default it is equally an Indian achievement as well.

  • and lastly, Muslims live all over the world, not just in India, Muslims are one nation. How desperate are you to claim everything as Indian! If something is labelled as Muslim it does not "by default" become Indian. All Muslims do not live in India, so all Muslim achievements are not Indian achievements.

  • @EverythingIslam How desperate are you to claim that things are not Indian?? And..oh! I wonder what they call Muslims who live in India...hmmm..MUSLIMS?? or INDIANS??!!

  • @EverythingIslam haha are you saying the 200 million muslims in India (second largest in the world) aren't Indian? Since when did Hindu and Indian become synonymous?

Ofcourse there's no arguing with the fact that Mughlai cuisine had a large influence on Indian cuisine.

  • @EverythingIslam stop talking rubbish cunt

  • Comment removed

  • @EverythingIslam I would suggest you to read more about India or travel around in India. Then only will you be able to appreciate the stunning diversity present in India.

  • @EverythingIslam @EverythingIslam You are wrong. It is not against Hinduism to eat meat. Since Hinduism is not a set of rules elaborated by a book that it's followers have to follow. There is tremendous variation in customs and beliefs among Hindus. A majority of Hindus have been eating meat and fish for thousands of years. Many ancient inscriptions show for example people eating fish. Traditionally Brahmins, Vaishyas and people belonging to the Vaishnavite sect do not consume meat/fish

  • @EverythingIslam agreed.

  • @EverythingIslam You are right. Hindus don't eat meat because they believe in reincarnation and that when someone dies they can even be reincarnated into a chicken...lol screw indians.

    Pakistan Zindabad.

  • @drdukeful erm, no, Afghanistan was a part of Khurasaan and part of it was Caucasus. This recipe comes from the Northern, Caucasus part. Above that, the script and language of Afghans is nothing like the one spoken in Pakistan or India.

  • ooo PHUULLLEEEZZZ this is not a proper recipe... y r u miss guiding ppls around here u never no how to make it... u already made a mistake in the beginning... who cook those spices 1st ? its a middle stage baby.... 1st is a oil > fry the chicken > "chicken wont break apart during rest of the cooking" > then tomatoes>spices> lil water> give it a rest on low heat for a while> add green chillies> garnish with coriander and julian ginger > serve wid naan....

  • @hafeez587 Mutton karahi is really tasty, you can use prsssure cooker for faster cooking,Boil thye mutton with salt and ginger garlic paste until soft, and then follow the same(chicken karahi) recipe.

  • @hafeez587 Thanks for liking, while keeping it for 15 min, keep the fire on medium, its ginger not garlic, plus fry it on low heat,it won't burn and will add the taste.

  • what is the total amount of time it takes to cook chicken karhai?

thank you very much for uploading! i am learning a lot from your videos!

Where do u get your pans for cooking?

  • Total time of cooking depends on your quantity. If the chicken is half a kilo ,then it should take approx.half an hour.

  • did you include half a kilo in your recipe?

and..this is a dumb question...but we can use chicken breast as well, right?

  • Yes roxy42lover,you can use any type of chicken meat, breast fillets will be as good.

  • not required. it was just a harmless answer.

  • was it intended towards me?

  • lol chicken karahi is a ancient dish. And btw its not from pakistan. Its from India. Chicken karahi originated in a place called 'India'.When chicken karahi was born there was no such thing as pakistan. Chicken karahi is more than 200 years old. Pakistan is 60 years old. Before that it was called India.Shall i repeat it?Duh people are forgetting history lol.And btw we Indians love our beef, goat and chicken as well.

  • Lolz. Try n be a little more tolerant.

  • Comment removed

  • chicken karahi belongs to Pakistans northern area, originated from Iran and afghanistan ,never part of India, and it is pathan dish eat with tandoori Naan which is also originated from that region not from India.

  • @saahfa no need 2 say that Saahfa Cos we dont say every now and than that Pakistan originated from India huh peace girl

  • @saahfa I am an Indian, and I agree with you. It's a kohistani dish. And I LOVE IT!

  • @saahfa and Pakistan originated from? Your uncle's land ? Pakistan was part of India - so my dear boy these dishes are Indian. Go and get them from your nearest Indian store and enjoy

  • @m1st3rh NO my forefathers land.PAKISTAN was part of India NOT northern areas, they came with Pakistan of their free will, they were never part of India and KARAHI originated there and Mugals took it to INDIA.Indian store??????.EWW everything smell like hing,no way jose

  • @saahfa And your point is???? I dont think anyone here has contested Karahi Chickens Origins! Duhhhhhhhhh

  • @saahfa : So?

  • Comment removed

  • "Whatever it is all the ingredients like the spices i mean Indian spices originated from my country . what would other counties invent about food. if they dint come to my beautiful nation. spice less colorless food!!! Jai Hind . Hell to the others to think we cant cook. Recipe is good !! " less

  • @saahfa lol pakistan didn't even exist 60 years ago :D so unless u r telling me that this dish was never used until pakistan separated from india, this dish is originally indian :D

  • Comment removed

  • im sorry

its not chicken karahi its just the way we cook chicken in our home Recipe and way of cooking chicken karahi is very much different

  • Authentic "Kardahi" belong to North of Pakistan that is NWFP or some part of Afganistan that region is

famous for BBQ , Kabobs, Tikka, and Kardhai"

Indian society is over all vegetarian that can't be authentic in beef / meat dishes such as BBQ, Kabobs , Tikka and Kardahi .

  • you make no sense. pakistan was a part of india. what the hell are you on about?

  • lolzz ur ignorant n funny. NWFP n Afghanistan was traditionally never part of India . This region was for sure part of Subcontinent . Thats the reason unlike "hindu" India, societies who lived across (North West) the River Indus for thousands of year were geographically n traditionally non vegetarian. (eat goat, lamb, cow etc) Later the same strong ppl became ruler of India when they crossed River Indus, brought different recipes wid them to India (UP/CP). still South Indian food is diff y?

  • bakbak bakbak bakbak!

  • No !!! to Onion in "Chicken Kardhai", n no turmeric ...otherwise, both will change the taste into "Chicken korma" , not "Kardhai"

  • Zabardast sister, it was great, i made it first time the way u cooked and it was yummy...

    thank uuuuuuu :D

  • Onion should be added to enhance the taste that brings much sweetness in Chicken Karahi. I have been to Pakistan and learn from the native cooks they have also added some corriander and little tumeric powder that brings out fantastic taste.

  • No onions :O

or I forgot to remember that you used it?
