  • This dude is past 90 by now and still ripped.

  • His forearms were insane.

  • what a fucking idiot

  • "Do something about it!" That's it, Jack! Love you, man.

  • Hey! Have you ever tried intellectus 424 diet (do a search on google)? Ive heard some unbelivable things about it and my father lost a ton of weight with it.

  • God I love this guy :)

  • benedikt magnusson could deadlift that haha

  • So I'm going to play freshman football this year for the Steele knights (they won championship last year) and for training my dad had my brother and I run 10 miles in 105 degree heat with a backpack full of bricks on. I got through it by remembering all the strong words of Mr Lalanne. Thank you sir, I hope you and Jesus are getting ripped up there in heaven.

  • @ThatsMrTroll2U dang dude, you can get in shape without killing yourself.

  • @ThatsMrTroll2U jesus is already ripped

  • "May I have your undivided attention?" You sir, are a reference for me.

  • tell that ryan kennelly

  • Uncle Jack!!!

  • I love this guy. he knows what hes talking about. Its kinda like when bruce lee said. I wouldnt fear the man who practiced 1000 kicks once, but rather the man who practiced 1 kick 1000 times

  • Will be thourougly missed what a great man

  • such an inspiration i was and somewhat still am overweight but since november 19 2010 i have been eating right and bodybuilding properly. i currently happy to say i have lost about 40 pounds. i would to thank jack for inspiring me to become a healthier person.

  • 6 people are overweight losers

  • God, he was such a badass

  • i'm disappointed he didn't just just deadlift the whole box

  • @kelly980 lol That would have been great. But he does have a point, he did life a 1000lbs.

  • @RandomYTProductions he died at the age of 96 about a month ago due to pneumonia

  • Six people don't have the heart.

  • I based my whole routine on this concept: Do one 300 pound bench press, or bench 30 pounds 10 times? Doing many low weight exercises instead of a few heavy weighted ones has given me far more strength than my peers!

  • This is a very simple concept, but sometimes hard for people to grasp. We will never forget you Jack. Your inspiration lives on.

  • Thanks Jack, inspiration today from yesteryear.

  • Rest in piece, Father of Fitness.

  • ♥ you

  • a great man, R.I.P

  • the original tony horton

  • Thank YOU! for posting these Lalanne videos!

  • I wonder if he's got a similar trick to do those fingertip pushups.

  • 6 People can't lift any pounds.

  • "Just what makes that little old ant, think he'll move a rubber tree plant. Everyone knows an ant, can't, move a rubber tree plant." Jack had High Hopes!

  • This guy put Chuck Norris to shame, he died on the 23rd because of pneumonia if you didnt know

  • Arnold called him an Animal !!!!

  • i like this guy, i used to hate all the stupid 1950's health training, but jack knows his stuff

  • The man who put "fit" in fitness!!!

  • I remember when i was 5 and 6 years old watching him. wow! he's the man. i'm still watching him and working out. thanks jack!!

  • The Billy Mays of exercise!!!

  • 1000 pounds! Wow, he really shows us that nothing is impossible! He was an inspiration to so many people. I just saw this other video of him at 94, still saying the same things. youtube.com/watch?v=CKEHWISVi9U

  • this man was the best / he changed my life / R.I.P.

  • R.I.P Jack

  • This guy and Tony Horton are awesome.

  • I was expecting a 98 pound weakling to carry the box off at the end now that he threw out the 20 lbs of weights

  • RIP Jack. We will miss you.

  • Man, was this guy years ahead of his time, or what???

    RIP Jack...

  • Love it then and love it now you were my introduction to these excersices - R.I.P Jack.

  • It only took me about 1 month of weight training 10 minutes a day 3 days a week to get back to feeling and looking great again.

This after having an angioplasty for the blocked main abdominal artery and a bad Crestor reaction that almost did me in the year before.

I did weight train years back though, and for us, it comes back quicker.

  • I just now him as the Juicer Guy

    RIP

  • If you don't like Mr. Jack Lalanne, you are an unhappy person!

  • You will missed! It's nice to know we can watch clips of you on YouTube.. R.I.P. Jack.

  • RIP

  • RIP jack...!

    I bought the juicer machine...!

  • RIP Jack. Thank you.

  • R.I.P Jack the most fitist person in the world

  • Such a good message

  • RIP Jack.

  • thtat's amazing :D

  • this/PRMR85PRMR85 is a really dumb ass he just dosent get it

  • thats cheating jack..

  • dude his juicer is shitty the breville is the best

  • Could he run marathons and things that take a lot of endurance?

  • hes so healthy lol he has his own juicer machine thing lol

  • this guy is my hero

  • wish there was someone like him nowadays on tv

  • they should have reruns of jack lalanne shows on every single american channel, so everyone can stop sitting on their ass all day and help their health

  • @300MUSIC I guarantee you 100% of Americans already know to lose weight, simply re-running this show won't motivate them to actually do it.

  • @AJVersatility19

100% of Americans? You mean a 6 week old baby knows how to lose weight? gosh....... babies are talented these days :P

  • @MrPsyxxx lol Exaggeration. Don't be so literal

  • @AJVersatility19 lol, yeah sorry, I was being obtuse :P. But I agree, everybody knows how to lose weight, there's so much information out there being pushed all the time and it's so available -

some people might say "But I've tried everything", it's not how many things you try, but how hard you try. Willpower!

  • @MrPsyxxx Haha "Obtuse" i remember that from that one scene in The Shawshank Redemption, i still don't know what it means. But yes, willpower. I also remember that Batman Begins quote(Yes i'm a movie junkie) "Training is nothing. WIll is everything." Obviously that's a bit specific, but it still states that if you lack will and dedication, you won't get anything done. I have even trouble going keepin my gym schedule lol i'm not fat tho, just want to gain muscle. But no dedication =/

  • @AJVersatility19 Yeah and the Family Guy spoof. "no, now you're being acute", as he sits in a position with an angle less than 90degrees.

Yeah, totally get the BB quote.

Gaining muscle is quite easy - slightly up your protein and calorific intake, and accept that to build up, you're going to have to fuel the growth, then cut down, so like, 3 steps forward 2 steps back, but the one step you've covered is quality lean muscle.

  • @MrPsyxxx Haha yea, now i remember Family Guy lol. That's the thing with me, i don't eat the proper food for gaining muscle. I can blame my metabolism all i want, since i eat everything and never gain weight, but i should try protein shakes and what not. I've had a gym membership for 4 months now, the first 2 months i went 4days a week every week. The last 2 months i've probably been there a total of only one week. It sucks to lose dedication so fast.

  • @AJVersatility19 100% of people besides babies know how to lose weight but but 100% of americans don't know how to get healthy, losing weight should just be a side effect to gettting healthy

  • @ERICLEEPARKER I think they all know how to be healthy, with all the information in everything we read, everything we watch, everywhere we go. The information is everywhere. I mean i'm not saying they're experts as in how many calories must u intake and then subsequently burn, but as in they know what to eat, what not to eat, how many times to eat, etc. some just don't do it.

  • @300MUSIC And while they're at it, maybe air some good old fashioned WWII propaganda

  • There are men that can lift more than 1k today. I never thought I would see the day when anyone could bench press 700 lbs; now the world record for the bp is over 1k!

    Sheeeeeesh.

  • @bindinglines yea with suits on. they can't really lift that much.

  • Epic

  • jack can do any thing

    bless him

  • It's good that he explained it properly. Fat Americans nowadays expect an instant solution to everything. The truth is it's going to take effort and nothing that billy mays is going to sell you is going to make it any faster.

  • he gets me so amped!!!!!

  • This show is so old and outdated, but Jack was so far ahead of his time, it's amazing, and his vids would be relevant even for decades to come

  • This guy got me goin again, I hadn't worked out for 2 years I used to be in way good shape 6'2 200LBS was my set weight I am 240lbs right now, I started jogging earlier tonight and started working with dumbells here I come. What has helped me in the past is don't see it as this huge project thats going to be hard and you will have to sacrifice. Just see it as little things here n there, spend 5 minutes walking around the block, then you will start to run, slowly you will eas into it easily.

  • @vexun11 yep the hardest step is usually the first one. keep at it and you will continue to make progress. I now plan to competitively bodybuild and I started exercises to get a little bit stronger. Keep at it and if you fall off track a little, don't become disheartened, use it as motivation.

  • try picking them up at the same time asshole

  • He is such a good teacher.Watching his videos amazes me how interesting is what he does and says.I have no doubts to believe that exactly this show, with small make-up, would be an instant hit on tv today.Impressive.

  • yes we know the metaphor but this reminds me of self help books of course if i work towards my goal im closer to achieving......WELL NO SHIT SHERLOCK

  • i just heard about this guy today- and he is now officially on my top 5 man crush list along with Fedor Emilianenko, and Jet Li, and a few others i can't think of right now...

  • arnold

  • i like arnold but he isn't on my man crush list.

  • cnorris

  • i love how he says not even the strongest man in the world can lift 1000 lbs. ever hear of a guy called paul anderson? he sqautted 1200 lbs. not once, but twice. shows how much you know lol.

  • wihedoserth you idiot this was so many years ago

  • and your point is what? im not talking about jack lalanne, im talking about another poster.

  • @thedaft92 yeah i know this guy is just some douchebag who has an obsession with old dudes from the 50's, look at all the posts haha

  • Firsly, he said 'one of the strongest men'; secondly, squatting 1000lbs is very different from lifting it.

  • not really. last time i checked a squat is a type of lifting, nice try though.

  • Comment removed

  • @Uxoriouswidow deadlift would be considered a LIFT right?

  • @PRMR85PRMR85 Yes, it would. That's what I was saying. . .

  • @Uxoriouswidow "squatting 1000lbs is very different from lifting it" yes i know both CAN be done, some obsessed lalanne fan reckons i said it can't be done but the funny thing is i was quoting his GOD Lalanne and trying to prove me wrong he proved his god wrong, i mean ronnie coleman does this shit for fun and he aint even a powerlifter and i think scott mendelson is hitting nearly 1300 pounds

  • LOL! dude this was Yearrrrss before Paul ever did that.

  • Comment removed

  • he did it in the 1956 olympics. which i believe is 2 years after this show started.

  • Your an idiot

  • nice retort. by the way it's "you're" not "your". the irony is hilarious.

  • LOL! you must be in High School. I can tell that you are not very intelligent. That is ok, because you have many years to gain wisdom. If you are going to make fun of my punctuation, learn to capitalize the beginning of a sentence, talk about irony.

  • Comment removed

  • not capitalizing a sentence and using the wrong form of a word are not on the same grammatical level, at all. you're a fool to think otherwise. and it still doesn't change the fact that you've been owned.

  • LOL! Gotcha!!!!! Mark another sucker off the list. You are just too little too late buddy! You cannot take it can you? You may need a refresher course in English with the 2nd graders. LOL

    Now talk about owned.

  • Sad, too dumb to realize how much of an ass you look like.

  • shut the fuck up jack would kick ur ass in a heart beat back in the day hes not an ass

  • im not talking about jack you retard

  • @viper2808 and whys that? you're the one making a complete ass out of yourself. but you're too stupid to know that so you don't need to cry you 10 year old. but if you want to reply and look like a bigger jackass, be my guest.

  • Jack in this video is using the weight as a metaphor for making big problems smaller. It's quite simple.

  • yeah, um, no shit. i was explaning the same thing to a different person on here.

  • @FordGT555 yup 1 step at a time you can get where you want and you can do it! great message

  • @FordGT555 its the basic concept of algebra, but it applies to everything.

  • @wihedoserth and you try to tell me his not outdated, get off lalannes cock and buy some protein powder instead of getting it from his semen

  • @wihedoserth OMG you really are a fucking moron you have just proven my point perfectly because my quote was from your own jizz supplier JACK LALANNE, that you are now disagreeing with BLAHAHA Game over goodbye

  • wihedoserth is right, the number 1000 itself isn't really significant to the point of the fact that you must do it at a bit at a time..

  • yeah this buffoon is here insulting jack lalanne and calling him a pencil neck and he doesnt even know what he's talking about. who is this peon to insult jack lalanne? he's nobody, he's a peasant.

and yeah, he totally missed the point of the video. like a true idiot he is taking it literally.

  • "gotta get your vestables"

  • you arent right about anything. all youre doing is making yourself look like a total fucking idiot. youre obviously far too dumb to realize it though apparently.

  • wow pmr you have no idea how fucking dumb you look lol what a retard

  • HaHa funny how this was not a replied comment..grow some fuckin balls jackass..trying to offend behind my back because you know i am right....Hilarious

  • I respect Jack because he is the foundation upon which the entire fitness industry grew. Open your eyes. There was history before you.

  • wow i just realised i can lift 1 million pounds...i just have to do it 100 pounds a time..am i the only man ever to lift 1 million pounds??.....stupid

  • totally missed the point idiot

  • what point..please explain oh wise one?? these methods are completely outdated as you can tell by his physique..good for his time but a pencil neck compared to todays standards...waiting for your reply LOL

  • not even the strongest man in the world can lift 1000 pounds..i believe ronnie does that for fun on the weekends and he aint even a powerlifter...completely outdated oh wise one LOL

  • the point is that you dont look at a big task as having to do it all at once, you do many little steps to get to the ultimate goal. like a weight loss program. the 1000lbs is just a metaphor. god youre dumb.

  • and you need a pencil neck from 1927 to tell you that...so you mean if i slowly take little steps towards my goal i will be closer to achieving WOW jack thats deep no mortal man could have thought of that..and you do know what dumb means...right?...god you're stupid..also learn some english jackass LOL

  • for being 95, he looks 70. the man has lived an incredible life.

shows you how taking care of yourself pays off later in life.

  • he knows that

  • he's not dead...what the hell is wrong with you?

  • Comment removed

  • thanks for the advice jack , im gonna start doing exercices since today 11-02-09

  • VERY GOOD!!!

  • A man a way ahead of his time. I hear of body builders not but Jack is in great shape for being his age.A lot of his preaching is good end even fit todays noram folr pracical fitness, Pure genious....

  • Jack's great, but he fails geometry. You really think he can fit 200 five pound weights into that cooler? Nah.

    But he's having a blast!

  • I know Jack isn't really selling anything, but for some reason he reminds me of the late Billy Mays. The way he acts, moves and speaks. They both seem alike to me.

  • Chuck Norris is his apprentice

  • pure inspiration

    thank you Jack Lalanne.

  • how old is he when he made that video?

  • He was in his 40s

  • The Jack Lalanne show began in '51, Jack was 36 on the first few episodes. I can't find a date for this particular one. The show was on for 34 years!

  • just the man!

  • This is the only real solution to the health care problem. Exercise and nutrition.

Too many people sit around and eat cake.

If more people did half of what Jack does healthcare costs would go down dramatically.

  • Too bad the pharmaceutical captains of industry don't want you to know that, so instead they fill the media with medication to do it for you! ;)

  • i think we should give any money to fat people, seriously in fact i think we should probably tax people for every pound they're overweight, that'd fuckin motivate them

  • I love Jack Lalanne.

  • Jack Lalanne= God

  • You're right he is nowhere near Gods level, Jack is actually real.

  • History shall erect a monument to this a man. He's one of the great figures of modern American history, no question about it. Obama should recognise this legend of the first rank.

  • Jack had the most incredible taper: At only 5'6", his 47' chest narrowed to a 28"waist . Quoted by no less than Steve Reeves as his inspiration to keep a tight waist while adding muscle. LaLanne & Reeves were the premere examples of healthy muscular fitness in the fifties, (and considering the unhealthy practices of bodybuilders afterwards, they -still- are).

  • hes got the point ;)

  • He's gay, but he's straighter than you.

  • He never said it had to be lifted all at once. Good point. I think Jack showed class in turning down that celebrity boxing challenge by that other mean guy in his 90's too. Jack doesn't want to use his strength to hurt people. That other guy looked evil.

  • this man is 94 and still could kick my ass.

  • @guitarman1219 damn right he could haha.

  • I can show you how to lift 1005 lbs. All you have to do is lift 5 lbs at a time. now i gave you the know how

  • past: jack lalanne

    present: chuck norris

    future: i don't wanna know

  • Such a fun guy to watch! I wish this show was still on! God Bless you Jack!
