I wish you were right about the 2 months of antibiotics. I was on oral antibiotics for 5 months and thought i was doing better. Now a year later I am worse. I cannot get out of bed and I have over 20 white matter lesions on my brain. No MS. Well Folks, tried the Zithromax and it nearly killed me, just like the Doxycycline. It's a slow process, but I am back to just juicing veggies, only water, Salmon and chicken. Coming out of it. I think for me at least...and possibly others, sugar is the killer here. No fruit, honey, sucrose, fructose, and thing sweet. I am now able to drive, no pain, no dizziness. Many symptoms leaving. Weak still, but able to get about and not have to be cared for. Driving my car again.

I haven't tried Zithromax yet, but I've wanted to. What was your side effect? I have Doxy but it makes me very nauseous. I do find that cutting out sugars makes me feel good, however, I know it's no cure for Lyme. I've had it 10 yrs+.

Zithromax worked before for me. Until I started having cake every day. I am about to start it again for two weeks at 500mg daily. Will let you know. I also will be juicing only veggies and eating as stated below. My skin stings and I hurt when I get really sick. It takes time, but I am determined this time to never slack off again. For children it must be even more difficult. In Boston, a top Lyme Doc in country says eat alkaline diet for meds to work better. Google Alkaline diet.

I have to admit, you need to give this guy a break. Has anyone used a diet very restricted to only veggies, no sugars of any kind including fruit? Some free range meat and deep ocean fish. Only water. No packaged foodds? I have had this over the years and recently diagnosed. I crash when I go off diet. It is lack of will power on my part. But, I need to choose life and remain on this diet indefinately. When I get better for a bit, I can eat sugar in moderation. I binge and get ill.

I would like to say they got better but although it is good to eat healthily YOU NEED POWERFUL LONG DURATION IV ANTIBIOTICS or recovery is impossible. If you have been infected for 3 years you will need 3 years of antiBs to treat EFFECTIVELY.. You don't have a glue, research shows this disease continues in most victims after this simple approach.(Specially if not diagnosed within short period of infection) The Bb can be cultured in many individuals afterwards and you apparently don't understand the multiple stages of the Bb. Some stages are immune to various antibotics and they wait out the short treatment to come back and restart the whole process over again.

Boooo - If Lyme disease is really so benign and so easily treatable, then I would challenge the good doctor Ryder to allow himself to be bitten by an infected tick until evidence of a bulls-eye rash appears, to then further delay treatment FOR OVER TWO YEARS (as happens to many tick-bite sufferers), and then to limit himself to three weeks of antibiotic treatment for his no doubt by then agonizingly debilitating symptoms.
