I agree to him being a low to mid content. He was definitly not a pure wolf. He did look like a very nice animal though. Some one said in the comments below that they thought of possibly trying to reintroducing him with a wild wolf pack, good thing that did not happen as the pack would have killed him most likely.
I knew Chance for nearly a decade. he was the sweetest and gentlest creature. Ron and Andrea are both amazing, few people could have saved him as well and as lovingly as they did.
This Video is very encouraging. My wife and I rescued a 11 week old Wolf pup from a bad situation as well. Her name is Mia she is the most beautiful thing in the world, she has the best temperament. She has been an incredible addition to our family. I have a thousand questions lol.. if you would be kind enough to communicate.
I had the opportunity to meet Chance his "family" last night at a presentation in upstate New York. Couple of things: 1.) Chance is not, strictly speaking, a "pet". He lives with humans and is socialized into an "inter-species pack" but he'll never be tame the way a dog is. 2.) Chance is *terrified* of most people. When he was brought on stage, his ears were back and his tail was totally between his legs. 3.) Chance is BIG; maybe 8 hands at the shoulder and 150+ lbs. Not a good pet choice!
Roman said at the presentation I went to that when Chance was picked up by the SPCA--wearing a collar and clearly half-socialized as someone's "pet"--he was going to be destroyed the next day: At a year-and-half old, he was too old to be introduced to a wild pack. There are sanctuaries for wolves or wolf-dog crosses born in captivity, but they are ALL full. So the only options were A.) adopt him or B.) euthanize him. I'm glad Roman and his wife chose to save him.
Bad! No, do not do that. Wolves are NOT just "big dogs"! They're not dangerous to people, but they are much, MUCH more work than a dog ever could be. Wolves run 10-40 miles a day, every day. They do not ever get "full" (i.e. they'll eat and eat as long as there's food around) and they are highly territorial (i.e. they'll mark everything in sight).
You tell your mom that is not a guarantee. Just because he is a wolf doesn't mean he will suddenly go wild and try to be Alpha. Though they have instincts, not all animals are the same. They have personalities too. I hate it when people look at them as nothing but killers.
Wow, I'd like to adopt an animal like that, I just hope the pets I have now can dig it, I'm the king of pet owners, I got a dog, cat, a few finches and a rat
very nice

I would only do so if it wasn't possible for that animal to be re-introduced to the wild anymore. Otherwise, I am going to go for a hybrid.

I'm so very glad you and Chance are living so well together. Most of the time these attempts to keep a real wolf like a dog end in disaster.

Do you think that Palin's aware of this?

Yeah, most wolves are wild, but I think Chance is an exception.
