@ClassicsCafe You want to do an espresso type grind for this if you're using the standard basket; but there is a pressurized as well that is not as picky. As long as you heat everything up to the right temp, the sourness can be non-existent. Just gotta make sure you do so - Kat
Thanks! You convinced me and I got one at a nearby shop here in Amsterdam. Works great! I find that I use the maximum of 21gr of coffee ground on the Ascaso Isteel (on its finest setting) that you demonstrated in another video to get a slow flow with lots of crema from the MyPressi. I like your informal presentation style, feels like your shop is just around the corner that way.
@HomeDistiller Well, you could theoretically use this with a hotel room kettle, so a stove top wouldn't be required and not true for the stovetop maker. Also, the resulting coffee is very different. - Kat
Does anyone know a source for trouble shooting my Rancilio Silvia? It does everything right except heat the water. How do I know if I burned my boiler out?
We have a repair center if you want to send it into us, the guys can take a look at it. Feel free to send me a message if you'd like to do that. - Kat
You ladies are a riot. I have a penchant for checking out you ladies for a morning laugh while I'm enjoying espresso from my Duetto. :)
All fun aside, I have a serious question. I've heard mixed reviews about the Capresso water kettles. I assume that is what you're using. Do you notice a bad chemical taste or smell from the kettle? Many people have complained about the odor diffused through the water. Do you notice and chemical smell or taste? Thanks in advance.
We haven't noticed anything yet, but the one we used is pretty new and been used just a handful of times. That may be something that occurs over time? Not sure...but we'll keep our eye on it. - Kat
I think the inability to take cylinders on the plane is a dealbreaker for travelers. Who really wants to go out hunting for nitrous cylinders when they arrive in a strange town after a long flight?
I know that the manufacturer said they've had customers mail them to their hotels so that isn't a problem. And you *may* be able to check them, but the TSA in the US wouldn't firmly commit to that. - Kat
I still prefer my Handpresso! It has less parts, requires no preheating, uses no N2O cartridges, weights three times less and can go on board an airplane! With the Handpresso Domepod I achieve the same crema !
I agree that the Handpresso is a little more portable...but having tried both of them several times, I do think the TWIST gives a better shot. It may be the difference between single & double shots, though :) - Kat
Also wanted to say that with proper preheating and fresh coffee, I feel the Mypressi can easily make a shot comparable to the Rancilio Silvia. Really I think it's on a whole new level compared to the handpresso. :)
Here's some tricks I learned after using it for a few days:
#1 - Preheat the reservoir as it sits in the handle (without the basket) for 30 seconds. Preheat a 2nd time for better temperatures. Leave about 1/8' of air at the top. Don't fill it all the way to the top.
#2 - You can also preheat the basket. Put the basket in a little bowl and let that soak in boiling water, then dry with a towel and tamp.
#3 - Don't use the spouts. Pulling a naked shot helps maintain the temperature.
Awesome, thanks for the tips!! We pre-heated everything before pulling any of the shots, but didn't do the spouts. We'll try that in our next round of testing. - Kat
Hello! I have only one question... How many cups I can make with one cartridge/sparklet?
Thanks!

@SeattleCoffeeGear OK, thanks! It is possible to say how long stand by the pressure? for example when I make only one coffee...
BebeBicy 1 month ago
@BebeBicy It seems to retain it for each use until the capsule runs out; I have pulled shots days apart without issue - Kat

Hey again Kat!
Two questions here:
1) What is the grind setting for this?
2) How often did you / would you find it can go 'sour'?

We're not carrying them yet (will be within the next couple of weeks) so you can pick one up from MyPressi directly for around $170. - Kat
