But I play the saxophone too and a bit of drums. I'm 18.

When I'm writing a song I usually start off with a lyric and melody in my head about something that's bothered me, and fit the chords around it. Or I just muck around on the piano till I find a nice chord progression and find the words and melody to fit...I don't know if that helps though.
