I know precisely what I am saying. I was unfairly indoctrinated with religion by my family when I was growing up too, but at about 9 or 10 I really started to question "God" and the whole basis of religion.
I, unlike you, am not some brainwashed sheep. I nearly became a product of religious propaganda - so that is not an aspersion on yourself - I just merely wish people would reject, or at the very least seriously question the dogma that they repeat.
Great so at 9 or 10 you were already a genious , so now its time to really reflect on your deficiencies, before bad mouthing our religion, cause no body is offending what you lack.

Man you sound like my brother. He doesn't want me to go on a mission because he thinks our folks "brainwashed" me into. He always told me to do what I wanted. Not what Mom and Dad wanted. Yet even after I rebelled for some time; partied, fooled around, experienced the "glories" of the world, he still scoffs at me when I tell him I changed my ways because I desire to go on a mission and live the Gospel. You may not be brainwashed, but you certainly short of enlightened by any means.

When I was serving at the Primary Stake Presidency we organized a choir of children for Stake Conference. The kids sang this song before the last prayer...I never felt so much reverence in a Stake Conference again! It was beautiful!!! Kids are beautiful!!!

I personally think that there is evidence of God's existence and power everywhere we look. Just look at the human body. I think it has such beauty and complexity as could not have come into existance on its own. Sir Isaac Newton himself said that the human thumb alone could convince him that there is a God. Of course, whether or not one believes in God is their own choice. However, there is too much complexity and wonder for the exclusion of even the possibility of God to be rational.

There have been a lot of people who try to ask for proof that there is a God. There is no proof. In other words, no one could introduce you to God in person on earth. The only evidence we have are the fact that millions of people have professed that there is a God from the beginning of time, and our own experiences. That may not be evidence enough to you, but it is enough for us. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints encourages everyone to find out if something is true for (con't)
that God exists and that the church is true. You cannot take our experiences away. In addition, we cannot transfer our experiences to you (who want proof). You need to work to find out for yourselves; don't just ask us to prove it for you. It wouldn't hurt to go to church and listen a few times, but you should also pray and you need to sit down and think. When you really want the Savior in your life, you'll feel his presence, and you'll have the "proof" we have. That's all the advice I have.

I know precisely what I am saying. I was unfairly indoctrinated with religion by my family when I was growing up too, but at about 9 or 10 I really started to question "God" and the whole basis of religion.
I, unlike you, am not some brainwashed sheep. I nearly became a product of religious propaganda - so that is not an aspersion on yourself - I just merely wish people would reject, or at the very least seriously question the dogma that they repeat.

Man you sound like my brother. He doesn't want me to go on a mission because he thinks our folks "brainwashed" me into. He always told me to do what I wanted. Not what Mom and Dad wanted. Yet even after I rebelled for some time; partied, fooled around, experienced the "glories" of the world, he still scoffs at me when I tell him I changed my ways because I desire to go on a mission and live the Gospel. You may not be brainwashed, but you certainly short of enlightened by any means.

When I was serving at the Primary Stake Presidency we organized a choir of children for Stake Conference. The kids sang this song before the last prayer...I never felt so much reverence in a Stake Conference again! It was beautiful!!! Kids are beautiful!!!

I personally think that there is evidence of God's existence and power everywhere we look. Just look at the human body. I think it has such beauty and complexity as could not have come into existance on its own. Sir Isaac Newton himself said that the human thumb alone could convince him that there is a God. Of course, whether or not one believes in God is their own choice. However, there is too much complexity and wonder for the exclusion of even the possibility of God to be rational.

Actually, nobody gave me this idea of "too much complexity." I came to it by thinking for myself. You're making the mistake of implying that science disproves religion, when in reality they're just two different realms. Science attempts to explain the "what," while religion is more concerned with the "why." Neither can really prove or disprove the other. As I said, one's beliefs are their own choice, and I chose to believe. You can make what you like of that.

There have been a lot of people who try to ask for proof that there is a God. There is no proof. In other words, no one could introduce you to God in person on earth. The only evidence we have are the fact that millions of people have professed that there is a God from the beginning of time, and our own experiences. you all realise of course, that there is no God, no Jesus and that it is all made up? Only a child could really accept all of this. The all powerfull looking down and accepting one of many different faiths. This faith is composed of some really good people, but also a log of hypocryts and bigots. Please, people, just think about it a little.
