  • You slowed everyone else down, what did you expect to happen?

  • so explain this to me: you get to pick when you want to have the option of zipping past someone in a cycle lane when you feel like it but if your impeding traffic then you have the right to not use the cycle lane? The cycle lane is for your safety. don't complain about people opening doors in the lane your not using either. The armor of the righteous doesnt slow down cars.

  • You complete and utter pillock.

  • another knob who "needs" a flashing led front light ,probably have one on your helmet too so you can blind people when you look at them ,them create a fuss when you get full beam back :-(

  • Why dont you ride in the cycle lane!?

I cant stand cyclist like you, you think the world owes you a favour. Get in the cycle lane prick!

Dishing out someones number plate on youtube who has got pissed off with you because you are a acting a prick is just about the biggest demonstration of being a total cunt I have ever seen in my life!

    Unreal wanker!!!

  • The cycle lane is there for a reason idiot, you don't get cars driving down the footpath do you. Some pillocks on push bikes think they own the road..

  • @locouk what reason is the cycle lane for? It can't be for cycle safety: its right where cars turn in, turn out, block and open doors into. That leaves "makes it easier for lazy people who have issues" to get past. In which case: why opt to risk your life by using it?

  • correction I meant Cambridge. they are only 12 minutes apart at the speed I drive so I get confused

  • There are far too many bikes in Chelmsford. They all get in the way of me and the misses when we are following each other around in seperate Jags as she needs to be home 5 minutes before me to be able to watch the repeat of easteneders. Cyclists are in the way and a menace.

  • @kentcyclist

Correction Cambridge. Since it only takes me 6 minutes to zoom between the 2 I get confused which one Im in

  • You need binoculars to see that bike lane

  • if i spent 3 minutes filming an unsolved Rubik's cube it would look as good as this.....

  • cyclists bring out the worst in most drivers most of the vids here show that

  • @taninofbane

yes my stress levels in my jeg would be less if cyclists didnt block the road.

  • I would would have sparked him in the face! Break his glasses!

  • GET IN THE F**K**G CYCLE LANE!!!

  • you gat a cycle lane use it moron ..or are you special...

  • fuckin bikers... get a proper job and buy a car u bum.

  • @bobbygrewal47

Get out of your tin can fatty

  • @BleedingSunday im not fat Mr Blood filled Sunday...! cars are for those who can afford and maintain them. a bike is for bums...! so get off ur pole with tyres and become a respectable citizen and buy a car.

  • @bobbygrewal47

Why dont you lose that belly and start cycling to work? Cars are for fatties.

Any bike is better maintained and cared for than the average car, wanna try again?

  • @BleedingSunday i have no belly Mr 2 Wheeler...! the Luxarys of cars can never be beaten... only desired. and i own garages... so my cars and many other cars are kept well maintained, U wanna try again...?

  • @bobbygrewal47

    Oh sure

What about the "luxary" of a boxed prison vs the liberty of freedom, think about that in your next trafic jam ;)

  • @BleedingSunday ok ok Mr BikeRider, i see u are a fighter for ur Infamous bike riders association... while its raining/snowing/G-force winds... il be sat comfortable in a WARM... Leather confined... Music Blaring... Car, while U... well u get the point...!

  • @bobbygrewal47

I have water/windproof clothing and heated handlebars, so im perfetly warm and fuzzy in my suit yes.. And im halfway to where im doing while youre still messing with the heating in your car.. and when u get out, you get wet, i dont take my clothes off outside ;)

Warm in a jam, or warm at work already, you pick!

  • @BleedingSunday hahahahahahhahaha... U are indeed a ... Soldier of road wars...! heated handle bars... now thats Luxary...LOL. does ur Bike... have a name??? and just to let U know... My cars have electronic climate control... so when i turn on the engine it automatically sets the car to the right temp. whats ur TOP Speed?? Whats ur System like??... Sony, Kenwood or Alpine?? do the Ladies Love sitting on ur Bike?? ps... I have garages... and umbrellas... i CANT get wet...!

  • @bobbygrewal47

I guess i call it my bike, that good enough?

So when u get in, with the engine turned of youre still freezing your balls off while im wearing my warm clothes..

    Honda made soundsystem ;)

And yes do they, but its not a toy so non bikers not allowed, you dont want them to fall or something, most dont realize the weight.. So you open that umbrella INSIDE your car? And when its windy you wrap yourself in umbrellas?

  • @BleedingSunday hahhaha My bike.... ye thats a good enough name. who gets into their car freezing??... unless ur wearing next to nothing??... i wear Bear... and sometimes Serengeti. i open umbrellas wherever... thats the joy of umbrellas and a car, makes u feel like ur in a scene from mary poppins...! Honda hey... the japs did very well there. so how LONG does it take u Bikers to get to Warp Speed...?... and do the Gears need oiling occasionally or just on the off chance they may fail...?

  • @bobbygrewal47

Well there i tricked you; youre either wearing a coat, and thus sweatting balls, or a shirt, and thus cold outside..

Do i need to explain the basics of a combustion engine and how they work on your car.. i hope not?

  • @BleedingSunday NOPE... i now about engines and how the Cooling (Radiator) System works... thats why we have AC for summer and Eco for winter... now do I have to explain that to u?? i hope not. iv got an idea... il meet u on the M1 and we;ll have a race...! or even better.. see who's Stereo is Louder...! OR EVEN BETTER... see who can fit more women in...! hahahahahahahaha...

  • @bobbygrewal47

If you wanna race.. go to the tracks, its not expensive at all :)

you can fit 40 women in your bed but only make love to one.. qulity over quantity

  • @BleedingSunday hahahahahahha... quality...! actually my bed can only fit 5... and iv tried fitting more in. whats "Qulity"??? and i do race... where ever and when ever.... only the fast can keep up. BUT u have got me thinking about having 40 women in a bed...!

  • @bobbygrewal47

Well i especially dont race reckless drivers... Or just race them till the speed limit ;)

  • @BleedingSunday if ur ever riding thru Birmingham on a sunday night... WE race thru Handsworth. theres normally about 40 of us... admiring each others motors and its custom parts. im sure we could admire a 6-7 gear bicycle... do u have hydraulics or ABS systems??? only joking...! i know u dont... hahahahahahaha

  • @bobbygrewal47

No mine doesnt, i took the liberty to be able to control my vehicle without fancy stuffs ;)

But most bikes has abs now that youre asking

  • @bobbygrewal47

cyclists have no right to opinions as they dont pay tax or insurance. No pay. No say. Petrols too expensive. Keep cyclists of roads. They cause too many accidents

  • @kentcyclist I wish that was true...

  • @kentcyclist too right... cyclists should have their own paths... like underground or on roofs...!

  • @bobbygrewal47 Too right!

  • @BleedingSunday

if cyclists were banned and the cycle lanes used to widene roads then there would be less road conjestion.

  • @kentcyclist

Pay more attention at math, please.

  • any of you moaning about him not using the cycle lane notice the cars parked so the door opens into the cycle lane. have you ever been behind a driver that only indicates theyre turning left once they reach the corner and not look? doesnt seem like it. as a motorcyclist i was told, give room for the car door incase someone inside opens it. how can you do that in the cycle lane as a cyclist. undertake a car that does not signal correctly and does not look in their mirror. then see what its like

  • I can't get over these idiots who think that just because they are on a bike that they deserve to be right all the time. What sort of a tool are you! And as for getting the POV of a 5 year old girl... Oh please!!!! Did you pay her off with sweets to say that?

  • why aren't you cycling where you suppost to.

on the left side on the road, on the cycle lane for example.

cycling on the lane for fast traffic, and complaining?

    makes no sense.

you're not driving a motorcycle so stay on the cycle lane.

  • @iedanus i ride a motorcycle. nearly taken out by a car who indicated as they changed lanes and took a corner and didnt look for other vehicles. you think he would survive a car turning left over the cycle lane if they did that? no he wouldnt. some drivers need to use their eyes more. not only in front but behind and to the side. blind spots are blind until you actually look

  • @trauma1134 about the blindspot thing i could'nt agree more with you.most cardrivers are asholes asgainst bikes and motorcycles.

i ride bike myself, so im very aware of that.

only i ride my bike where im suppost to.

not like the ass in the film.

itss like driving a moped on a highway, and then start complaining about the cars.

really funny, but makes no sense.

driving in traffic simply means be aware of other people mistakes.

and drive where you suppost to.

  • The car driver is quite right, at the very start of your film clip 10:00, car was stopped right at front of line at lights waiting to go and you cycled around and in front of him. So then he has to follow you all the way along the road even though there were bollards to seperate cyclists lane from other traffic, you chose to use the roadway. And you wonder why he was abusive. Read felch1974 comment. EXACTLY! he is spot on too.

  • this is why people hate cyclists...... dude u got a friggin cycle lane after your kind nagged and cried and u dont even use it.... they should run u over more like.... hows that for a mad driver??

  • xD lol

  • That was bad calling you a spastic.........he should have called you a dumb fucking retard. So thousands of pounds have been spent building that cycle lane for you and you don't use it? sorry, but you are a prick.

  • Get in the freaking cycling lane, dumb-asp! Your bike should be impounded and you should be locked up for impeding the flow of traffic for everyone's safety. Bike Lane = Bicycles. The other lanes or for motorized vehicles. I imagine people constantly have to tell you off for your discourteous behavior on the road. I imagine the road rage might not stop at telling you off one day, either.

  • another cyclist with a helmet cam, riding like an ass and looking for some little piece of shitty video that he can post .. up yours mate

  • he couldnt care less? about what? some dickhead riding in the road with a helmet cam on? nobody cares about you or the 'rush' you get from riding in traffic. i fuckin hate cyclists, they think they own the road and they think they can keep up with actual vehicles when in fact they are a hazard to themselves and everyone on the road. get a motorcycle if you want to hang with the big boys

  • the fuck is the point in having a bike lane and "cycling" on a road meant for gasoline vehichles. I hope you get hit by a motorist. maybe then youll start using the fucking sidewalk dumb ass.

  • I like how you use the cycle lane only after you've been yelled at. Fair enough, the cycle lane was obstructed with car doors, buses, etc, but it's there so you should use it.

  • i was very mislead by the title xD

  • @sesitty Me too. He just want some attention. Hahahaha

  • Vehicles pay tax to resurface the roads and create the cycle lanes you dont use but you moan about something you get for free. On your bike messer!

  • Don't move to New York. You would be run over.

  • are english cyclists all ragers? seriously look at magnatom now this guy

  • Get a car.

  • god i hate cyclists... they are fucking retarded... they get to use the roads... but refuse to abide by the rules of the road... suck it

  • too poor to own a car ? i would've hit u with the front pumper of my 454 gmc and fucking beat u poor faggot making cars traffic behind u.

  • Your own video proves that you are the douchebag.

  • Consideration for your own safety and that of others is the key me thinks... Traffic flow comes second IMHO. Cyclists get INSTRUCTED to take up the "primary" position (middle of the road) on narrow roads or in slow moving traffic because it's safer. With no traffic any more, the cyclist was probably about to take up "secondary" position (50-100cm from kerb) after bollards... just after impatient twat started beeping at him. Relax yourself driver.Cyclist was prob doing near enough 30mph anyway!

  • CYCLISTS: Roads too dangerous we need better driver education

COUNCIL: Here's a cycle lane for you, even though you didn't ask for it.

CYCLIST: Thanks but it's too narrow, places us in danger, is potholed to hell, full of grids, glass, stones. We'll stick to the roads we pay for.

  • *cough* *cough* King Tool of all things Tool like.

Stop your whinging and just get on with it, it is common courtesy for a "Slow" moving vehicle to move over and allow flowing traffic past. However you feel the need to Cycle bang in the middle of the road stopping the flow of traffic past.

Not far from me the Council has removed the Cycle lane on a country road as there were too many accidents. They made the footpath wider costing in excess of £100,000. Most still use the road? Game on!

  • Yeah, see I didn't get what you're trying to say! Yeah, he was a bit of a dick, but then you were in the middle of the road! You've got a cycle lane, so use it!

  • im a cyclist and i stay over on the side of the fucking road in america, i suggest you do the same

  • 2:40 - Cyclist admits error, later proceeds to compound by posting to Youtube.

  • I think everybody needs to have a thorough look at the law regarding cycles. They haven't got a motor, so they aren't required to be taxed, licensed etc as it is pure leg power. If your going to tax bikes, well you might aswell tax pedestrians and give them license plates too!! ITs not compulsory for a cyclist to use a cycle path, and believe it or not its legal for a cyclist to use the pavement, as it does not have a motor. I didn't see this cyclist do anything wrong on this video.

  • CYCLISTS: Bloody roads too dangerous we need a cycle lane.

COUNCIL: Heres a cycle lane for you.

CYCLIST: Cheers, we're not gonna use it but thanks anyway.

  • @felch1974 That's because all the piss poor drivers who smash into each other trying to gain a 2 second advantage over other drivers on the crawl to work. This leaves their broken window sweepings in the cycle lane. It's also quite impossible to cycle in cycle lanes when cars use them to park in.

  • @felch1974 When people ask for a cycle lane, they are referring to a proper lane designated for cyclists only, not a strip of paint at the side of the road. Look at the cycle lanes in Holland for an example of a proper cycle lane.

  • @felch1974

After months of roadworks to build a cycle path out of my town, cyclists argued that they couldn't possibly use it because there's sometimes pedestrians on it which slows them down. I don't think the irony was truly appreciated.

  • @felch1974 Funny but cyclists never asked for too narrow cycle lanes full of parked cars, or right next to the parked cars (i.e. the door zone). From what I can see most cycle lanes are there because some numpty in the local council has been given a cycling promotion budget, but totally fails to consult the people who it is for or look at national guidelines about designing good safe facilities (as published by the DfT), but goes ahead anyway & paints some random lines on the road.

  • @felch1974 No, the dialogue is as follows:

CYCLISTS: Bloody roads too dangerous we need a cycle lane.

COUNCIL: Nahh - we can't be arsed. But we'll put a white strip of paint down the road, cos we can make money off it. It won't protect you of course: drivers can turn left and pull out across it, drive into it to undertake, and just to make it more interesting we'll let them park in it too, so they can open their door in your face.

CYCLIST: Thanks for nothing, and f**k you very much.

  • @teesee03

Lol.. Just to make it more interesting we'll let them park in it haha:)

  • @teesee03 you should be glad u got a white line. No Pay no Say

  • @kentcyclist

But I do pay. You don't seriously imagine that what you pay for your your tax disc represents any significant contribution to the provision and upkeep of the roads which you think you own, do you?

As for the white line, they can get rid AFAIAC. The person who decides where it's safe for me to ride on the road is me - not some arse on the council, and certainly not you.

  • @felch1974

    Hai car driver

  • @felch1974 fucking spot on

  • @felch1974

Agreed. They are such a waste of space. Im all for increasing the speed limit in built up areas to 50MPH. Its perfectly safe with modern air bags I will not die.

  • One of the main reasons I gave up cycling.

Around where I live, there are hardly any cycle lanes and even if there were they would be filled with things that aren't bikes.

  • I love how drivers complain when cyclists ride in the primary position seeing as the reason we do it is to stay safe from impatient drivers desperate to gain a few metres. If I was confident that car drivers wouldn't try and squeeze through tiny gaps ultimately putting me at risk I wouldn't need to ride in a way that prevents you from being able to get past me.

  • @maskofsan1ty I love it when cyclists complain that when cars overtake them, they should allow plenty of room. And yet, when it comes to a cyclists overtaking a car through traffic, they manage to squeeze through very tight gaps and think nothing of it. Make your minds up, either you need lots of space between yourself and other vehicles, or you don't!!

  • @QED1964 Has is not occurred to you that a car passing you from behind is very different from you passing a car?

  • If you were doing that kinda bs in america I would be pissed too. Cause I hate cyclists riding in the car lanes.

  • im not the one wearing it gay lord

  • @jolianthom

If you've been dreaming about lycra, it isn't me wearing it.

  • Why wasn't he in the bike lane? simple question should come with a simple answer.

Not '' the road is a shared space '' You have your specific lanes to not cause accidents or congest traffic. Cars can kill you so gtfo of the way.

  • @cleve101

Normal roads are intended for all types of traffic, this includes pedestrians and cyclists. Cars are the primary cause of traffic congestion, because of unnecessarily enclosed and wasted road space.

Perhaps you might explain why even on roads where there are no pedestrians or cyclists, motor-vehicle drivers have demonstrated repeatedly the ability to clog motorways for hours with considerable ease.

If more people cycled rather than drove, there would be fewer jams.

  • @pseudotruth Cars are the main cause of congestion? the only time cars cause congestion is either from an accident, off work hours or tourist hot spots. Bikes have rules to follow as well. And to stay on topic, highly populated places, pedestrians and bikers cause stress in drivers do to there carelessness of road rules. weaving in and out of traffic, jaywalking, ect. ( example ) the guy in the video is clearly not fast enough to go the speed limit = congesting traffic.

  • @cleve101

In many countries there are more cars than their roads can carry. Congestion deters drivers. The same does not apply to cyclists or pedestrians. It is the wasted space enclosed by cars that gobbles-up road-space, causing congestion. Cars also gobble-up vast amounts of space for on road storage, off-road storage=parking lots.

Gridlock is a term associated with high car ownership.

You seem to assume that drivers never break traffic laws. Then there is the body-count.

  • @cleve101

What about the increase in congestion due to the 'school-run'?

    Your 'logic' is flawed.

  • @pseudotruth That can go the same way as in '' what about congestion due to the pedestrians in Tokyo streets? And obviously you yield to a school run. But lets stay on topic '' the video '' he clearly cannot bike the speed of the traffic behind him and as I say again, he causes congestion due to HIS SLOW ASS BIKING.

Then cyclists complain people over take them dangerously... simple answer has always been, they're too slow.

  • @cleve101

No, motor-vehicles are too fast for urban environments with vulnerable road users. Therefore, they should either be constrained to drive slowly, or be kept out entirely.

  • @pseudotruth ....... too fast? this video and many others prove that cyclists are too slow. Even when I agree impatience and anger is totally in the wrong( drivers tisk tisk), there is a reason drivers aren't fond of being behind a bike. I live in Canada and most of the city speed limits are 50km, Not a whole lot of bikers go that fast in the cities or towns, if they started riding their bikes in the road like cars it would cause some serious anger for drivers.

  • i wish they would fix all the pot holes in the cycle lanes where i live. Anyway was that a man driving a Mini???Lmao

  • It is obvious that u should stay in ur lane!!!!!

If that was me, i would care so much that i would get out the car and teach u the law, take u back to 1930s

  • Nor the car driver, nor you are bullying. You're avoiding the pathetic excuse for a cycle lane, and the driver doesn't want to be held up. Both of you should take this up with the city; if there's not enough room for a standard spec cycle lane, road markings shouldn't suggest so.

Door zones & questionable tarmac are less of an excuse; they require restraint speed & rugged tires.

  • @Nomasain u don't get rugged tyres on road bikes. thats the trouble with road bikes they are not made for the unkept roads/ cycle lanes of the UK

  • @phipperrr When planning a road layout, it's generally thought the ideal solution is to seperate the different forms of traffic, hence cycle only and bus only lanes. In an ideal world everyone would have their own road to travel on. However the world is not ideal & we don't have the space to do this, & different vehicles "cross" others piece of road. Cyclists on that road have been given their own lane, I can't see any reason why he's not using it. If he's afraid of being "doored" slow down.

  • @mailpauljonescouk. Well this mailpauljonescouk imbocile decided to buy a helmet cam, wire himself up with it (including sound!), and in one of his home videos, he blames a tanker lorry for "coming inches from my handlebars". If ou watch this pricks videos, he is just a trouble maker. Where else is a lorry supposed to go on a narrow road with cars coming the other way? The arrogance of cyclists really suprises me when they are so vulnerable to injury or death. Roads are for cars first im afraid!

  • @whysohardto

I'm afraid the imbecile is you.

It isn't the arrogance of cyclists, it's the incompetent arrogance of motorists, who feel safe cocooned in their metal coffins and don't care if they kill or injure a cyclist.

  • you self righteous bellends ought to employ some common sense you want to ride a fucking push bike in the dark whilst raining through rush hour in a built up area is suicide it may not be fair or correct but thats fucking life and posting shit like this on the internet is pointless the only people who give a flying fuck are you lycra clad mincing fags your vastly out numbered out there so best of luck. oh and just a tip stop talkingto little girls it doesnt bode well

  • @jolianthom

Your fixation about lycra and little girls show you for what you are. Take your sexual inadequacies elsewhere.

  • Once again Paul, it's amazing to see how calm you remain when you get bad treatment from drivers such as in this video. I have an intuition, though (judging by your voice & demeanour, which reminds me of that of my martial arts instructor's), that, had you really wanted to/had it been unavoidable, you could have administered a physical "correction" to this guy without any problems :)

  • @longtalker erm, why would you want to beat a guy up who was driving along the road and had to get past a moron on a bicycle in the middleo f the road, OUTSIDE of the bike lane??? Martial arts...please!

  • @whysohardto You are absolutely right, no reason to beat anyone up, I just thought, when first watching this, that the driver was about to get out of the car and get aggressive, in which case you have to defend yourself. As for riding outside of the bike lane when there are parked cars to its left, I think mailpauljonescouk has already explained the reason for it in this and other videos (staying out of the car door zone).

  • @whysohardto As a cyclist, I used to always use the cycle lane, and *have* got doored once as a result, so now, when I drive, I respect cyclists who prefer to stay out of cycle lanes that have parked cars next to them. It's different, of course, when the cycle lane only has the kerb to its left: then there's no reason not to use it.

It's always good to understand the point of view of other vehicles that take part in traffic, and I think videos like these (sometimes) help towards that purpose :)

  • Cycle lanes are there so cars can drive past you without you being an extra obstacle to them. It means you can both go safely on your journeys. To cycle on the road when a cycle lane is there because it's "not good enough" simply says that you couldn't care less about the obstruction and unnecessary hassle you cause others, as long as you're alright. Unfortunately it means you can't complain if people walk out in front of you without looking.

I'm a cyclist as well btw.

  • On so many cyclecam videos we see cyclists complaining of others in "their" lane. The cyclists often reeling off licence plates in a bid to name & shame car drivers. How nice it would be to see cyclists with some form of licence number that they too could be named & shamed instead of hiding behind the anonimity of being just another cyclist. U could pretty much bet then, that had someone with a camera been following u, they would have named & shamed u for riding in the car lane, & not your own.

  • Have you ever considered that the road might be shared space? For people. Walking, cycling, driving etc? There is legal restriction in the UK: no driving in a mandatory bicycle lane, just as we don't drive cars along the pavement, but apart from motorways or roads with specific restrictions, do you know of any road space in our cities which isn't for sharing? Cyclists can choose whether to ride in the door- zone-gutter-bike-lane or not. A better bike lane would get used. This one is no good.

  • @mailpauljonescouk On the old road (there is another route) between my village and the neighbouring they spent thousands building a nice broad cycle path because the roads are so winding, blind corners etc and so dangerous to cyclists and drivers alike. The stupid cyclists don't use it - they still go on the road... endangering lifes. What about them riding two abreast or even three abreast holding up traffic... selfish to the extreme and dangerous. I drive with respect time cyclists did.

  • @mailpauljonescouk Yes. There must be space for everybody... THAT'S WHY YOU SHOULD NOT CYCLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET!!!! Stay in the side of it... A car cannot drive at cyclist speed.

Than if you want your space complain with your city not with the car's owner!!!

  • @mailpauljonescouk

Have you ever considered that you're effectively squatting? Drivers pay/paid for the road. Freeloader!

However, cycling is a marvellous idea. If we all used 2 wheeled vehicles there'd be more room on the road, less pollution, less accidents etc. I wish there were no cars. I really do. That's the idealist side of me. But, the realist side of me points out that you're squatting, and motor vehicles come first. That said, there's no need for driver rudeness.

  • @BledZeppelin oddly enough I pay 2 x road tax for 2 cars but choose to cycle and leave the cars at home but the road exposes some motorists unwillingness to share space

the bike lane here is a joke - so narrow in the gutter door zone - using it when cycling at any speed is positively dangerous

  • @BledZeppelin COUNCIL TAX pays for the roads, and guess what - pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders have a common law right to use them. Drivers have a licence, which may be revoked.

Ever heard of a pedestrian or cyclist being banned from the roads? No, neither have I.

  • @PeowPeowPeowLasers Yes, councils do indeed pay directly for upkeep of roads, but motorists pay for what is effectively a permit to use them. Cyclists don't, so it is reasonable that you should have less of a voice in such matters. Make do, unless you want equality via a new law that would make cyclists cough up. Fishermen who haven't got a permit get penalised. Cyclists are just like pikeys who just take what they want and blame wider society for their own ills. Roads exist for motorists.

  • @BledZeppelin Your opinion is entirely unreasonable. If tailgated by a vehicle which pays more in VED than you, do you always pull over and get out of the way?

Cyclists, pedestrians and horse riders have a common law RIGHT to use the roads, most of which were built not for cars, but for pedestrians, horses, carts, and in the 20th century, paved for cyclists.

    Really, get a clue.

  • @PeowPeowPeowLasers The scale of payment isn't important, it's the lack of ANY contribution that's the issue. To use income tax as an analogy, a bloke earning £200,000 may pay £100,000 in tax, a bloke earning £15,000 may pay £3,000 in tax, but they both pay their way, and both deserve respect. A pikey 'acquiring' £50,000 a year would pay no income tax; no contribution - no respect. Guess which demographic that the pikey represents?

20th century roads were paved primarily for cyclists???

  • @BledZeppelin really, no contribution. I'll have to remember that when I pay my council tax bill.

VED goes in the pot along with just about every other tax.

    guardian.co.uk/environment/bike-blog/2011/aug/15/cyclists-paved-way-for-roads

  • @PeowPeowPeowLasers I though cyclists wore helmets, not blinkers...

    I'm done, bye!

  • @mailpauljonescouk yes, roads are shared space. that's why you have the bike lane as a shared space. your causing traffic and don't be selfish...

  • @QED1964 totally agree!!!!!

  • @QED1964 In many countries like the US and Canada its a cyclist obligation to ride on the road also many times there are cars parked along it making it unsafe. Also by law I am required to remain at least 3 feet from car doors (as car doors are the #1 killer of cyclists) and am allowed to take as much of a lane as I deem necessary for my safety. Though I do agree It would be nice to have an easy way to shame bad cyclists as they are just as much the problem as the bad drivers. Law binds us both.

  • @QED1964

there is no 'car lane'. cyclists have the right to use all the lanes of the road.

  • @QED1964

For someone who has such strong opinions, it would be nice if you could get your facts and spelling right.

There are in-general, AFAIK no car lanes in the UK. There exist lanes for buses, for slow vehicles and for bicycles, but cycle lanes are not mandatory for cycle users, they are only mandatory insofar as that motor vehicles are not allowed to enter. Read the Highway Code for details.

You could also google the Dunning-Kruger effect for why you are such a prick.

  • @QED1964

I apologise for calling you a 'prick', however, regarding your spelling, I suggest you re-read your original comment along with an English dictionary, or failing that, copy its text into an application with a competent English spell-checker.

  • @pseudotruth As suggested, I put my comments through WORD and the English spellchecker. My apoloigies for spelling the word "Anonymity" with an "i" instead of a "y", and using the word "cyclecam". However, most people know that cyclecam means a camera on a cyclist or bike. Using the letter "U" instead of "you", and "&" instead of "and" was done to shorten the comment to fit the 500 character limit. Had I realised that my grammar was going to be scrutinised like that I wouldn't have bothered

  • @QED1964 your comments are so right totaly agree

There is good and bad in every walk of life Cyclists are not saints

Mind if you ride a bike on uk you may soon be meeting the saints in heavan

Its not worth the risk cyclists always come of worsed

  • @QED1964 or how about we get rid of all registration in stead of being losers who have to tattle on people at all. free men dont need registration

  • @QED1964 What treat can us cyclists pose its u motorist that are always trying to mow us down

  • @Rhodey360 and yes what ever road has a biking lane some ues it but some of the time we cant if we have to make a turn so we HAVE TO USE THE ROAD ITS FOR SHARING with motorist and cyclists

  • @QED1964 What the hell is a "car lane"?

  • Yeah... I hate when idiots on bicycles ride in the street. Ride your bike on the sidewalk you dumb fucking idiot... stop fucking up traffic!

  • I live in the US. I own a truck and a bicycle, and use both quite a bit. That said, if it's dark and raining, I would probably use the truck. If I had to ride the bike for some reason, which I have, I be as courteous as possible- yield to the cars because they're bigger! The laws of any country can be broken, and they will be- but the laws of physics cannot. It isn't right but it is what it is. Stay safe out there guys.

  • Do you really think that you're above the law and don't have to drive in the cycle lane. If there is a cycle lane, DRIVE IN THAT LANE!!!

  • the UK rarely has cycle lanes!!! those lines they paint on the floor don't make it a cycly lane all they are is road narrowing lines, there are barely room to move in them lanes, total waste of paint, and to class them as part of a "national cycle innitive is a fucking insult made up by some tosser whos never riden a bike! and gives the type of tit in that car something to moan about, i personnally hate cycling but still think them lanes are an insult to every person in uk

  • dont ride down the middle of the road ya fool.. geez he should have run you over..

  • You say you stay of of the car door zone, why? You cant be afraid of a mere door if you think you are invincible against a 2 ton hunk of metal. Sure you dont have to use the cycle lane either but you might wanna try etiquette once in a while. The car obviously diddn't mind following you up until the road ahead was clear, I respect your right to ride in the primary position and condemn what the driver did but there was plenty of room to get past especially at the bollards and it looked safer too!

  • i would run ur fagg ass over u moron

  • why werent you in the cycle lane though.....? are you not cycling?

  • why wernt u in the cycle lane???

  • did you even SEE that cycle lane those of you who are supporting this 'get in the cycle lane' theory? 90 % percent of it is car door zone/ pavement and the tiny last bit the car was riding over- it is itself being about 30 cms wide and utterly inadequate. This country has APPALLING cycle lanes and dire roads for the most part, such a coupling makes it more dangerous than russian roulette with 4 bullets in my opinion.

  • @LordHandlebar are you serious? "car door zone"? (which was actually about 10% of this vid) if riding a bike alongside parallel parked cars is dangerous why would they put a cycle lane there? the cyclist has eyes in his head, surely he can see if some one is going to get out of their car? thats like saying no car should ever overtake another car incase they are in their blind spot! dont talk rubbish

  • Actually, I welcome videos from rude, self-righteous, guys like this. The more motor vehicle drivers see this type of behavior, the quicker we'll see a backlash from that much larger majority. I'm hoping drivers eventually get angry enough to urge laws banning all bicycles and bicyclists from public roadways. I'm saving each of these videos to assist as evidence in that effort. Others elsewhere should do likewise in their communities.

  • @stewartx5 YES YES YES! let's ban cycling! Genius! OOOh I'll just save these videos too as evidence to help you.

  • @stewartx5 Oh good grief.

  • I use three main transport options....car, motorcycle AND bicycle. Sometimes it is unsafe to use cycle lanes (like car doors open) but all other times a cyclist should use the lane provided! It drives me nuts that wankers like this give cyclists a bad rep.

  • This video shows why cyclists should be banned from the road, and FORCED to use the cycle lanes. What a selfish prick. And by the way, you're breaking the law with your flashing light.

  • @Andronk

Flashing lights are legal for use on bikes in the UK. See the 'Road Vehicle Lighting Regulations' for details.

I'm certainly no fan of flashing lights, but given the number of motorists who claim not to be able to see cyclists, I can understand they're being used.

You have the mind-set of an idiot.

  • another wanker on a pushbike holding up the traffic and then blames the car driver,us car drivers choose to stay dry and live longer and get home to our loved ones.i agree with the driver, your a spastic,do you want my reg number you self righteous wanker,id have knocked you off,and then reveresed over you to make sure it doesnt happen again

  • @blunderbuggy2

The main obstruction to cyclists and motor-vehicles is the presence of people driving motor-vehicles. You have been duped by the advertising campaigns of the motor industry. 50% of journeys are under 7 miles, easily cycled and people would be happier, healthier and a little more more wealthy too.

Perhaps you should stop being obnoxious and start cycling, rather than clogging the road with an over-powered, terribly inefficient and expensive piece of outdated technology.

  • @pseudotruth As you have commented on my grammatical errors, I feel obliged to do the same with yours. In reply to Blunderbuggy2, you stated "...healthier and a little more more wealthy too." Double use of the word "more" was totally unnecessary. As we can see, we all make grammatical errors when typing here, however, allowances should be made for this so as not to detract from the subject.

  • @pseudotruth i ride a motorcycle, hardly outdated, maybe its the cycle thats outdated,if you paid something towards all the cycle lanes id be happy,id be bloody ecstatic if they were bloody used

  • I FUCKING HATE BIKES i would have done the same thing

  • There is no law that forces cyclists into their lanes, they either choose to use them or not. There is a law that prohibits verbal assault which the car driver is guilty off. Right or wrong that is the law. The motorist was likely behind for a while and waited till traffic ahead had cleared before starting his abuse showing he feels cyclists have less rights on the road than others.

The high numbers of cyclists that ignore red lights and other highway code violations don't help this though.

  • Know that cycle lane well (being 1 mile from where I live). It's the arse-end of all cycle lanes. Full of debris, far to small, wiggles too much and forces riders to constantly re-join traffic. I never use it as it's something that causes more death and injury than it not existing in the first place.

You do everything according to the letter of the highway code. I've no idea why some people seem to think you have to get out of the way? Perhaps they should revist their driving test, for a fail!

  • @RadWagon1 Highway Code Rule 145. Do not hold up a long queue of traffic, especially if you are driving a large or slow moving vehicle. Check your mirrors frequently, and if necessary, pull in where it is safe and let traffic pass.

  • @TheWacoKid1963 Highway Code Rule 145 is as follows and applies to cars.

You MUST NOT drive on or over a pavement, footpath or bridleway except to gain lawful access to property, or in the case of an emergency.

Perhaps you'd better read the HC before quoting it. Possibly you'd then know it to be able to apply it correctly. Please don't drive until you do.

  • as a road cyclist myself.. i would have used the cycle lane as much as possible there.. thats what they are made for.. i know it is a potential hazard for somone to open their door.. but tbh.. you just have to keep an eye out.. its night time so you would probably see people parking-turning their lights off- then open their door. other than that.. the door isnt going to open.. unless the person is invisible and walks infront of u and opens his door returning.

the geek deserved as smack tho :)

  • road tax does not exits, then why do we pay for road tax, car insurance. WHAT do pay in the way of road tax or for the space that you take up on the road.

like many cycle user's who think they have a god given right, the lane was put there for your use, so use it.
