@85meggie But there is a HUUUUUUGE difference on "new" metal and "nu" metal.

New metal is what trends the metal scene of new ideas, hence the term "new metal". It was used on KoRn back then, and got transformed into "nu metal", which is now described as a musical genre, that spans KoRn, Limp Bizkit, Linking park and beyond.

New metal today is, on the other hand, bands that got a "djenty" tone, a diverse growl and extended range/experimental tunings.
