HRE is the Holy Roman Empire.. I think he died. (so sad). Actually, HRE's grandpa is Germania, coincidently, but I think Germany descends from Germania? I don't know XD. All I know was that Germania (aka, Germanic tribes that sacked Rome), defeated Rome.
Er.. scratch the fact that Germany descends from Germania *laugh*. He descends from the Order of Teutonic Knights, (germany does, as a country), and I think this vid is about how Prussia thinks that Germany reminds him of HRE? I think that's it ^^

and, I was also looking through a bunch of maps the other day..(I'm such a history freak :3) and it turns out Holy Roman Empire and Modern Day Germany are in the SAME place!! So..um..yeah.

Thanks to the napoleonic wars HRE was defeated and not able to act as a country anymore. After that there were a lot of little german states.
Later forming with the help of prussia the "german empire" also called the "great-german empire" till WWI. Then the weimar republic was created till the natinal socialistic time.
