the ufc is filled with a bunch of ground and pounders mostly ex ncaa wrestlers who know how to do that kinda shit, there stand up sucks shit, they can't throw punches or kicks well, that's why the ufc sucks so much it's basically watching a bunch of guys rolling around on the ground like a couple of homos and when they are stood up to fight you see how weak their striking skills are compared to a lot of martial artists
one of the things also about Le is his endurance his endurance really is not that good and if he isn't dominating and you can neutralize his offense he does get frustrated
aside from Silva and Shamrock he realy hasn't fought anyone of note in the UFC either, I know he's got a great kickboxing record against most probably suspect oppoenents as well
he's good but i think a bit overated esp. after a high mileage fighter like Silva pretty much handed him his breakfast, lunch and dinner all in one fight, i don't think he should rematch silva
have to agree with modernfreestyle, his kicks, although he throws them a lot and with great technique, don't seem to do a lot of damage, more than anything they just seem to give him good range which sets up his hands and keeps his opponent guessing, doesn't often knock people out with kicks and certainly didn't have any effect against wanderlei...

His kicks aren't that powerful. If they were, his fights would be over a lot sooner. He connects a lot with his kicks, but his opponents aren't getting knocked out or incapacitated by them. Anyone who knows and understands hand-to-hand combat well can see that he's actually doing a lot more damage with his hands than with his feet. He's a hard puncher, and that's what's really working for him.

It was only Silva´s desperate rally to STEAL the round that won him that round. Whatever it is, Le´s last fight was not he greatest ever showing, he came to the UFC pretty late.

You are right, he is an American, now. He's originally from Vietnam, where he escaped with his mom, under gunfire in a helicopter right before the fall of Saigon. After a few moves, his mom & he eventually immigrated to the U.S.
Le has mastered Yang but he needs to develope Yin to be unstoppable; flexibility/holds. Raw power is not enough to win all fights. Also putting your head down is probably the worst thing to do in a fight with a Brazilian. He is going to choke you and knee you in the face. Royce Gracie was a master of Yin fighting. Le should learn from him.
Cung Le is rusty on the ground. He is pretty predictable, and doesn't handle grappling pressure well. Does well in Strikeforce, no way will he ever be a great UFC fighter. Too much flash, not enough foundation

@josephserda Also, he has a great chin, he ONLY needed to last 7 seconds more to get the round. If silva won the 3rd round, Le still would have won the fight. It was only Silva´s desperate rally to STEAL the round that won him that round. Silva obviously thought that he would the round and threw a fury to steal the round and it just happened to work, even though Le has good defense. Whatever it is, Le´s last fight was not he greatest ever showing, he came to the UFC pretty late.

Le has mastered Yang but he needs to develope Yin to be unstoppable; flexibility/holds. Raw power is not enough to win all fights. Also putting your head down is probably the worst thing to do in a fight with a Brazilian. He is going to choke you and knee you in the face. Royce Gracie was a master of Yin fighting. Le should learn from him.

Cung Le is rusty on the ground. He is pretty predictable, and doesn't handle grappling pressure well. Does well in Strikeforce, no way will he ever be a great UFC fighter. Too much flash, not enough foundation

Cung le's kicks are pretty damaging, but he rarely uses it as combination and that kinda slow awkward side karate checking kick will not work on wanderlei silva for sure. and his punching techniques belong to weakass strikeforce. not UFC.
