There was a version by Manfred Mann which reached the top ten in the British chart in 1965. Both these versions are equally good.

I was/am a Blue-eye'd Soul Brother and Maxine was one of the most elegant and endearing Sister I was lucky to be introduced to.
The fact that her song has been sung by so many famous artists is testimony to her talent.
