  • so i just downloaded mine onto my computer and eos utility will open, and ill select "select and download images" well then i will choose the photos and click download and they will download but in dpp they will be all gray with a thin darker gray x thru them, and it wont let me see or edit the photo, help ASAP, thank you

  • DPP is awesome!!! Helps streamline my workflow as the first step. Thanks for these tutorials.

Would love to see some videos of examples from other Canon Featured Photographers. =P

  • Why can't I select picture style and other options under 'raw' ? :( Its like gray and not clickable..

  • @ricojacksonp that is happening to me too, did u figure it out?

  • This Great!!!!! You made my Year!

  • Have just bought the G12, a truly remarkable camera! I am looking forward to shooting raw and using this editing programme. Thank you to the people responsible for this post.

  • bullshit this crud doesnt work

  • Ive used DPP for more than 2 years now, this is a very much user friendly software than LR. The operation is very simple. I can manage all my color corrections using only DPP then for further process it can seemlessly transfer the file to Photoshop

  • is there a feature in the software where I can put bordering or frames on my photos? thanks

  • I wish future update of DPP had a AUTO exposure correction button/option for quick exposure fix.

  • I have misplaced my software....I have an Xsi. Whatbcan I do to get this program??

  • i just took some photos in the park in RAW mode

i plugged in t2i to my pc in windows 7 the browser could show my the thumb nail pics but when i tried t use Digital Photo Professional .. there was NO way it could open or even know where any imge files were...

WHAT a piece of crap program OMG!!

  • Possibly not a fast enough shutter speed altaever.

Keep taking pics at different settings and try to learn about apertures iso speeds etc

Try and get it to something like 125/sec at least on a normal lens.

Set the iso higher if need be to get the faster speed but it does degrade the quality.

Around 1/30 sec is about the slowest you can get without camera shake on a hand held shot.

I always shoot in manual mode.

  • when i take pictures in high resolution (not raw) and watching pictures on computer and i zooming to actual size the picture gets blurry why does that happens on all my pictures i takes btw im new on this photo world so. thx for answer

  • Ok I take my words from the previous comment back, I've upgraded my DPP to the latest version and it seems that Canon managed to put some nice noobproof "tools" there like: noise reduction (non destructive compared to LR), lens aberration corrections (too bad this doesn't support 3rd party lenses like Tamron, Sigma etc) etc, that were missing in older versions, now it only needs some selective adjustment tools/brushes and it will be PERFECT

  • DPP's raw conversion is better than LR.

Convert with DPP then import into LR or Aperture

  • imlove the approach and i own LR too..but this is for those who dint want to invest on photo editing software..but still can produce better result..i love this and i recomend it for all canon user..but i loke to mention that i have developed some great picture using DPP..

  • ..screw dpp, Lightroom is 100x more user friendly so you don't have to search for oddly placed options, selections and stuff not to mention LR has a better looking interface and more built in tools unlike this, I've had my Canon with this "DPP" software for about 3 years now and to this day I haven't figured out how to remove dust from the images with it,and almost every time using DPP to correct my images they came out 3 stops darker at print, and it's still as odd to use as Ms DOS was for win95

  • Yes you'r right. DPP is one of worst applications ever made!

RTFM. You can't compare it with LR. They are total diffrent basic approaches. And DPP is free software and so on....

  • @ChristopherKblog hey, i cant download dpp :'( i just got my 7d .. i installed the eos utility already .... then i download the images .. but the instruction manual said that the dpp will launch after the images have finished downloading .. but somehow mine doesnt...

  • @Szeba86 It just goes on to show how much of short sighted you are to be a photographer.

DPP is still the best software that you get bundled with the camera and has lot more fnctions than most other camera makers fail to provide in their s/w.

You can almost take it as a courtesy or not.

If you are still using DPP after 3 yrs of being unsatisfied with it . . God knows how you live your life!

  • @MrRebelxs unsatisfied?! LOL OK, I have to admit that they improved DPP tremendously in the past 2 years and it now has all the functions a photo editing software needs to have...for free. But have you used that software back in 2006? the really old version? my remarks were for that one not the new updated version in which they also included the crop rotate function after all those years...

  • For anyone who has DPP these are really worth watching all the way through. Never used DPP before but this tells you everything you need to know quickly and clearly. Thanks you for putting these on.

  • Thanks for this. This is great. I will watch all of them.
