i love this machine but i dont want to get the grinder (same like you) either. so how does this machine work? is it good? and which ground coffee do u use? please reply fast....thx
It simply looks like the water extracting the shot isn't as hot as it should be. Could be the result of cold espresso grinds (should be room temperature) or the portafilter is not hot. Run hot water through the portafilter a few times before the actual extracttion to warm it up. The espresso should come out like dripping honey and should be a reddish brown colour. When not properly extracted it goes blond quickly.
Thank you for your note. I do not have a grinder and I really would not want to get one as it would contribute to further complicate my espresso experience. I changed to Illy Black ground coffee, I increased the amount of coffee used, and the results are good, but i am unsure of how long should i preheat the machine. DO you think 15 minutes is ok?

very poor shot. Little or no crema. Grind is off and not enough espresso used. Also, portafilter looks like it wasn't pre heated.

You can get cheaper espressos and better than Illy. All is about marketing.
