This is the pitch i have a lot of trouble with, either it;s my natural arm slot or what but it does not seem to fade away from my natural arm angle like it should. I throw it and sometimes it curves the opposite way =(. Sometimes i get a cutting action too but i can't seem to get the sinking action. I have seen a few grips for the 2 seam fastball, 1 is when you place your finger right on top of the 2 seams, another is when you actually place your fingers between the 2 seams. Any tips?

@flasheagle13 Im a shortstop not a pitcher so i cant say that mine will work against a hitter, but ive found while messing around during warmups that if you grip the ball just off the laces (to the right if you are a righty) and release the ball at the lowest point possible in your motion you can maximize the tail. then again it differs for everyone based on delivery and motion.

your right i threw a2 seam fastball and i thought it was a regular fastball until you said that if you throw a 2 seam with the right hand it cuts to the right
@ePiCsCenEzZ yea he tought us wat do you think "put your fingers on the 2 seams" meant, on a two seam there really is no special way to throw it, you throw normal overhand or put more pressure on one of the 2 seam if u want, now if he did this for say a curveball then he didnt teach us anything but the way to grip it.
My guess is that you may be trying more to snap your wrist on the 4-seamer. I used to have that problem where I would turn my wrist in on the release and it would break almost 6 inches, like a screwball. So I can't throw a 4-seam fastball, but I can throw a 2-seam and a wicked screw...not a bad thing I guess.
im 13 i only throw 60s but speed doesnt matter... if u can hit ur spots and u know how to change things up u will do fine. i was 12 and threw about 50 mph and i threw a 1 hitter with 14 strike outs, obviously it wasnt speed it was my location and breaking balls
@HLx04 I made up my own stories about an Orioles scout watching me when I was in highschool; nice try. If you throw in the 70's you aren't being scouted. A sophomore in my area throws low 90's and he doesn't have a scout watching him.
Small tip that'll help you out bigtime...While you rotate your hips and start your arm forward to throw it, pull your glove hand in towards your body...Trust me there will be a drastic increase in your speed and accuracy as well as movement in pitches. hope you took this as "constructive" criticism im only trying to help because there are many who would look to this video and copy every little thing...and what your doing will create arm injury in the long run...

I play Baseball and Cricket. Cricket is way more popular then Baseball. But i like Baseball better. Cricket is a lot harder to play. When batting in Cricket you have to judge the swing, bounce and speed of the ball.. A Cricket ball hurts a lot more then a baseball. Baseball is more demanding physically. I have arm problems but i put up with the pain cos i love baseball too much to not play it. So Cricket is mentally harder, but Baseball is Physically harder.

i really like this guys instruction but as a pitcher u want the exact same release and finish on every pitch. i notice major changes on his release point making him kinda predictable.

The 2 seamer is an unbalanced sphere so its flight is not true. The 4 seamer is equal and balanced. Thats why the 2 seamer jumps around.

I play Baseball and Cricket. Cricket is way more popular then Baseball. But i like Baseball better. Cricket is a lot harder to play. When batting in Cricket you have to judge the swing, bounce and speed of the ball.. A Cricket ball hurts a lot more then a baseball. Baseball is more demanding physically. I have arm problems but i put up with the pain cos i love baseball too much to not play it. So Cricket is mentally harder, but Baseball is Physically harder.

dude, I am an aussie and love both cricket and baseball. Each game is unique in its own way. But your saying there is a cricket bowler that can bowl over 160mph?!?!?! That has never been done, nor will it ever be done!! Brett Lee's fastest bowl was JUST over 160KM/H .... which is barely breaking the 100mph mark. IMO you can do a lot more with a baseball than you can with a cricket ball. But having the ball bounce in cricket does make it difficult to judge.
