  • god, it's great up til the end, then it turns into the star trek theme.

  • A-r-m-o-r-e-d C-o-r-e

  • You know, this cant be good for me. I felt like taking on the whole world after I started playing this.

  • I love this outside-of-Earth theme towards the end, Nobuo is just a sheer musical genius.

  • this and the distant worlds version sound a lot like hawaii five-o.

    i love it.

  • @Chewkakke I had thought the same thing when I heard it in concert. I am glad it isn't just me :)

  • The first 10 seconds of this song just blow me away. So subtle yet so menacing.

  • VOICES IN THIS, SON OF A GENGAR <3 <3

    AND HORN SOLO :D :D :D :D :D

  • and I thought that in advent children could not hear better ... I was wrong 3:)

  • Sephiroth :"mother how could u have an awesome theme?" (jealous)

    Cloud:"just, let´s click dislike partner"

Sephiroth:" right u pay for this mother"

there you´re, the 2 dislikes XD

  • sounds a bit like Bond theme or MGS theme...it doesnt convey the same feel from the original which fits fighting a weird-ass alien :D

  • Your mother wishes her theme music was this awesome.

  • it's a cool arrangement, but i expected it to be a bit more heavy =/

reminds me of man with the machine gun arrangement too

  • @DiagramOfTruth Shame you weren't at the performance in London on November 5th, it was far more powerful than this version.

  • @Xyrgra shame is right =(

  • @Xyrgra This one is way better, they cluttered the shit out of it in London.

  • AC is better :P

  • For some odd reason, this reminds me of Hawaii Five-O....

  • 0 people are just...a puppet.

Wait, doesn't quite work if no one disliked it...

  • 1:46

    no... just no...

  • Did not expect the funky twist that came in the middle of this. Nice surprise.

  • Sydney 2011 was epic.

  • ...This played in Baltimore...over the summer...I am two hours away from Baltimore...AND I MISSED IT! **sobs** I missed something so awesome such as this...*sobs even more*

  • Sephiroth: Mother.........

  • wow this arrangement is beautiful!

  • 1:55 Limit Break: Percussive Strike!

  • Materia is copyrighted to me.

  • Was at this show last night. This song got me pumped.

  • Beyond epic...

  • They came to Vancouver last night and it was AWESOME!

  • @drummerdickens hell ya xDDD it was awesome!

  • If jenova was a bond villain

  • ah nice lol. In actuallity I'm starting to like Masashi Hamauzu more than Nobuo Uematsu. (FFXIII's composer) like if you listen to some of his best pieces like "fang's theme" or the XIII-2 e3 demo theme.

  • 0:05 gives me chills everytime I hear this

  • Why can't Distant Worlds come where I live? CURSE YOU ALABAMA AND YOUR SLIGHT LACK OF POPULATION AND FINAL FANTASY FANS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • J-E-N-O-V-A=K-I-C-K-A-S-S

  • Kind of a Death Note-sy feel to it, specially in the beginning. Interesting.

  • This beats "Jenova Returns" from the OCRemix Album that came out not so long ago

  • I feel that this song as a general rule requires at least some synth... but this is a solid version nonetheless.

  • @survivalofone Agree. Still a good version, yup.

  • O: the BM version :P

  • 0 people needs to...oh wait, no one disliked the song :D

  • @lightsaberthrust CURSE YOU JENOVA!!!!

  • @lightsaberthrust i bet this one guy just disliked this to anger you XD

  • @lightsaberthrust

2 people should be horsewhipped for spoiling this line.

  • @lightsaberthrust and comments like that make people dislike it out of spite...lol.

  • @lightsaberthrust see what you did?!

now 4 people disliked just to keep up appearances!

  • they did great adding a chorus, but in my opinion battery was a bit weak, bit it's still pretty awsome.

  • only song I like from FF7 -_-

  • Beginning is so awesome!

  • funny how the orchestra version actually has less harmonic variety than the midi version in the original game

  • Omg I heard this when they came to Atalnta last weekend. This is one of my favorites they played!!

  • Went to hear this concert tonight in Atlantat; actually got to speak with Arnie Roth and Nobuo Uematsy! Truly an amazing experience!

  • Saw them yesterday at the Atlanta Symphony! I stood 10 feet from Nobuo Uematsu!

  • At first it sounded like something out of a Tim Burton movie, then it turned Kingdom Hearts with that choir, and ended like the score of a James Bond movie. EPIC!

  • They're coming to Atlanta on May 6 and 7...I'm going!

  • This works surprisingly well. I would prefer a mix of the original rock guitar and some orchestra, but this works very well.

  • Materia is copyright to it's respective owners.

  • @helloimAERHI the planet?

  • @helloimAERHI In Soviet Russia the respective owners are copyright to the materia.

  • SO FUCKING GOOD!

  • its so nice but i prefer the simple soundtrack in the game which covers u with the sense of fear and darkness .. i can't find this feeling here

  • Heard this at the NYC Show Night 1, man it was freaking fantastic!

  • @KrisKleiber I know! i was there and that was amazing! the battle on the bridge was also great!

  • @DISSIDIAcosmos Yeah! I actually was a big fan of the fact that they used the scenes in the game that matched up with the songs, Though I was thinking they would show more Jenova clips during this one... It was such an amazing show overall though, but me and my brother were mostly impressed by the amount of music from VII and VIII we heard.

  • amazing remix

  • I think this is fine, some people wanted maybe a more grand version...but the song is REALLY simple if you think about it, strong Brass and drums is all you really need with this song along with the underlying string parts.

One of the best versions of this song and to be honest, I NEVER thought it'd work this way but it works amazingly well!

  • It sounds like it must be a lot of fun to play. For the brass at least :P.

  • Playing this late at night...the beginning especially had me creeped. Still gorgeous though :D

  • JENOVA? With a real orchestra? And a choir? Who would have thought! I love it.

  • did they really had to put chorus?

  • @clouduseomnislash It just makes it that much better.

  • 1:06 - 1:30 is EPIC!

  • love the intro!

  • I dont get how this sounds like james bond -_-

  • The name's Hojo, Sephiroth Hojo.

  • @LavosAdvocate more Crescent..but not Hojo

  • This track was always a favourite in the Final Fantasy series, i can't wait to go to Distant Worlds in London in November! :)

  • @FinalFantasyLov3r124 I got a ticket!!! im even happier XDXD

  • @paulsky1 Hang on they've still got tickets?! They lied to me on their facebook page!!! :(

  • @FinalFantasyLov3r124 well about 6 weeks ago i phoned the hall directly and they had 20 tickets left that were only available by phone

  • @paulsky1 Guess there won't be anymore then =[

  • @FinalFantasyLov3r124 you can try phoning them but i think there may be standing gallery tickets left

  • @yaoiXlife I'm glad they had a competition to get two extra tickets for November 5th. This is something that I would NEVER want to miss!

  • @FinalFantasyLov3r124 well it would be so awesome if they came to America. like the east coast XD

  • @FinalFantasyLov3r124 Yep, you wouldnt want to miss it, trust me. I just went to the Australian one back in April and dude.....omg.

  • @FinalFantasyLov3r124 that's this month now I believe. And somwhere in southern California in September. I want to go to it sooooo badly! My brother tells me that I should go see something like Gackt instead.

  • @DartUchiha as much as Gackt's music is okay I'd much much rather go to this over Gackt.

  • @GenmaTheSamurai He just doesn't like listening to music from games. I like Gackt to but I actually like Miyavi and Dir En Grey more. I don't know why I like VGM so much but I do.

  • @DartUchiha it's cuz it has alot more nostalgia put into it. That and Nobuo is a musical genius.

  • @GenmaTheSamurai well I also like new stuff to. Like Amanaguchi, who did the music for Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World: the Game.

  • Not as good as Voices of the Lifestream, but then again that would require it to bump into the next tier of holiness, holyga.

  • I think I can make some awesome colorguard work with this!! Lol

  • sounds like a James Bond theme

  • @TheEnchantedCereal No, James Bond theme sounds like this

  • J-E-N-O-V-A was always an upbeat track and I love the big-band style this got in its makeover. It's less of a fight song now (unless it's a really over the top, flashy fight) and almost feels more like an airship song. Personally, I really like the Distant Worlds II album and I feel like, also with Dancing Mad, it makes the tracks feel more dramatic with use of more chorus.

  • @ToornioNoxulias lMAO Airship!! More like Final Fantasy meets The equalizer

  • @Devansell09 I was actually thinking that too, but it's the trumpet part that reminds me of the Blackjack Airship theme and Setzer's theme from FF6.

  • Honestly, i would have preferred a more grand full orchestral version with timpani instead of rock drums. But this is still nice! In a rock-jazz sort of way. Its closer to the AC version that the original, i suppose.

  • @xaonrider92 Yeah, well, it's the AC version, that's why they put the drums! I was shocked too at the beginning hearing drums. xD

  • Heh, what a funny creepy joke One Winged Angel at the first Album and J-E-N-O-V-A at the second BOTH are Track Number 13...mwehehehehehe

  • Do I detect a little bit of choral underscoring of some of the melody?

Also, sweet trumpet at around 1:45. The piece has been given almost a jazzy revamp for this album.

  • @SidheRelik The choral part reminds me of seymour's theme

  • dam. i would have prefered timpani, not rock drums. But on the drums should not go through the whole way. I would have liked some contrast, which i think is implied at 3:08. And i would have also 'beefed up' the brass section, but still a good listen.

  • this version seems more like the "Ok, this is the last stand guys!" one

  • Really good overall, but I sort of wish the orchestra could make the intensity rather than the addition of a rock drumset. Same goes for Dancing Mad and the entire 4th movement.

  • @redcloud02 You're 100% right, Distant Worlds II isn't as daring as the first. This isn't bad but; I would have love to see them really turn this into something nice. The rock drums in this and that synth or whatever it is in Dancing Mad (which is slower than the game version, so much so that I cringed) don't add to the pieces.

  • @redcloud02 I got mixed feelings. While yes, more intensity might do something, it'd be changing a good viewpoint of the original. For what this one sets out to do, I think it works. Not saying different is bad, just that giving a little twist while staying close to the original feeling works out alot of times.

  • The percussion adds a twist. More action packed and intense.

  • This version is great but im still liking the Guitar version from AC.

  • This stuff's gettin' crazy.
