It was 1996 when I bought this CD, I was in high school and played this CD at a 2 kegger we had at my parents small house. Nobody knew who it was but LOVED it! Hearing this takes me back completely! Thanks for posting!
She's been playing this with the Breeders- theres a video of them playing it w/ the guy from deerhunter...p.s. Frank Black can suck my dick, first $500 boxsets w/out even any new music then to say that one of the best recording outfits on earth is only playing to make paychecks?? thanks jerk-O you LOOK AND ACT like a total PIG
I must have bought this album four or five times. I bought it when it first came out and then loaned it out to people who never returned it. Thanks to youtube, I won't have this problem again.
The Amps and GBV were my soundtracks for the late 1990s. Shame about Kim Deal losing all hope after this album. Would have loved to have heard a Pollard-Deal side project (Under the Bushes Under the Stars doesn't count).
Dont mix things. The Amps and the Breeders are one thing, the Pixies another. Kim Deal is a far better songwritter than Frank Black. All Deal musics rock.
Hey man, Frank Black was awesome. And they are great together. Kim Deals amazing but don't say she's far better than Black. I love Kim. But I like Blacks songs better. Her voice contrasts so well with his. She just needed to sing more with the pixies. The Breeders, The Amps. Great. Not as great as the Pixies though. But yeah, All Deals music rocks. Don't forget about Black. He's the man too.
i think, other than a handful of songs, i find solo Black infinitely less pleasing. the breeders/amps have a set sound that works well. Black seems to be on more of a robert pollard by way of they might be giants, cornucopia approach. Pacer is one of my favorite all time albums without a doubt. it's nice and cool where, say, Teenager of The Year, is too beefhearty and cloying.
I read this cd was unpopular and sold so few that they only charged about a dollar each 'cos they made to many... Wish I had been around then 'cos i paid 10£ for mine today xD
I met Kim in 2002 and she was the coolest and nicest person in the music scene. Just really down to earth and good vibes all around. I've seen the Breeders 3 times and she plays a lot of Amps songs too. It never gets old. They are the only band I really go see. Their shows are always great!! No posturing no aloofness they are just having fun. I wish more people were like Kim in general. the world would be a better place :-)
fuckin love this forever

The chorus melody is one of the prettiest I can think of. Sing it to yourself; even without music backing it, it's a great series of notes.

@Mike1967b That's not very nice. The Kelley Deal 6000 were totally decent.
