Spoke to Pete Watts today (21/12/11)..said I'd get him some wood for his woodburner...Nice bloke who deserves to be a wealthy man but the managers had it all, same old story...Rock on Pete and keep on walking.......
I am a Ross lad and Terry and Pete Watts are child friends of mine, as is Bill Griffin. Ross /Bridstow Youth Club produced some great musicians such as Martin Chambers. I was backstage at this concert and enjoyed it from the side,
This music still makes my rock n' roll heart beat faster! These guys need to share this with the whole world again! Man I love this stuff. Please come to the States.
I've noticed that Rock is like sports...you just can't do the same things physically when you're 50-60 as you did in your 20s...So you have to lower the key because you just can't hit those high notes. People don't give credit to how much physical effort these musicians put into their performances
WOW!!! This brings the memories flooding back. I was there that night, (Row Q Seat 57 of the stalls). I never ever thought I would get to see Mott the Hoople. My all time rock 'n'roll heroes. I wish I had the words to describe what it felt like to be there after 35 years but your video does that instead. Fantastic! Well done and thank you.
Ta for the steady hand. Didn't know I'd be sitting right next to such a stellar cinematographer, Ofifoto. The sound is awesome. So nice to revisit the show.
The Mott reunion exceeded all expectations & was well worth the hop across the ditch. Kudos, dude!
Not only an awesome gig, but a family gig. Joe a great pal to Ian & the band. (Tireless promoter of Mott!) Mick Ronson's daughter Lisa singing backup (not sure what Ian's daughter looks like - probably there too - the Ronson/Hunter kids grew up together....) What a great gig. Really hope they'll continue and come to Canada, where we LOVE Mott the Hoople!
She's the one (Tracie) with the almost white hair of the 3 standing on our right. She goes to the mic to talk to her dad during the song. Ben Ralphs was singing backup also.
Buffin was recovering from recent surgery. Although in a weakened condition, he played during the encore each night of the five-show London run. He didn't play at either of the two warmup shows in Monmouth the week prior.
Who are all these people that come out in the middle of the song?

Man, Ian at least had to be in his late 20's if not 30 when this band broke the air in the States damn near forty years ago!
What kind of camera did you shoot this with?
Excellent video!!

@AttilaThe1 - A Sony DSC-T100 that was 3-4 years old at the time. Makes decent vids.

This is great.
I saw them 1970 open for the Kinks & Grand Funk Railroad at the Capitol Theater in Portchester N.Y.

Buffin is suffering from Alzheimers so was only able to play some of the set. Martin Chambers from the Pretenders sat in for most of the gigs.

If this didn't bring tears to your eyes, you're made of stone. Love to all Mott fans everywhere.

I'm sure the girl who sings the duet with Ian is his daughter Tracie Hunter who has a great band of her own.
Sad to hear about Buffin's health problems with Alzheimers and wish him all the best.

Why the two drummers??? Is Buffin not able to tow the line??? Just curious -- I love the band, and would have loved to see them.
