@antimaatter That's your opinion. And it's the wrong one, btw. 90% of the songs are amazing and the remaining 10% are incredible. This is one of the best albums they've done (after TIOR ofc). Just because of 3 members leaving, a big percent of the "fans" have beforehand decided to hate this album. I'm not directly meaning you, but it's just a facepalm moment every time I read something like "Thiz sucks bcoz andolz iznt drumminh". Mark and Rob primarily write the songs. Every instrument.
@Henekkka I didn't say that this album sucks because of the line-up changes, did I?
You mentioned they have new members, I would never have known
Don't argue with me on this one. If you find this album great then good for you for being a true 'fan'. I just find it less appealing than their previous albums and I'm entitled to my own opinion. 90% of people on youtube FORCE their opinions on others. And that's bad.
@antimaatter No, I'm not forcing and you are entitled fully to your own opinion. I even said on the last comment "I'm not directly meaning you".
And no, you didn't say anything about line-up changes. Tho you didn't say anything else either, just a plain statement "90% on this suck". The line-up change comment (which just happened to come as an answer to yours) is my opinion on those who just judge it bad because of the members. I'd just like to hear the reason why it sounds bad to you.
@Henekkka@Henekkka Because, to me, it sounds like an almost perfect sum up of all the elements of Chimaira that I love. It just appears that the most of the people who think it's bad judge it by the member changes, without really giving any reasonable reasons. And that's bad.
@antimaatter Then don't listen to them? There are bound to find other bands out there that satisfy you with their music, so why not go for them instead of being the "big man" and talking shit on the internet about a band you dislike.
@BladedVaults nope, these are from some german website, the first samples ever released. The samples in iTunes are longer, one and a half minute, these are only 30 seconds.
Fuck man. I can't wait for the 16th! And unlike a large number of people, I'm actually going to purchase the damn thing. Not just rip it off someone or some website. It's people like that, that have ruined the industry. I know it's beating a dead horse, but it's true. You wouldn't steal shit from someone's pocket or their house would you? Well then, support bands that you love by buying their music. It'll allow them to remain as a band that much longer. Plus CD liners are cool. LOL.
The first time I listened to these samples, I must say my initial reaction was none other than dissapointment. But being the huge Chimaira fan I am (naturally), I've listened to it a bunch since then and it's definitely growing on me. I think these guys have knocked it out of the park.....once again. Yes it's different, but almost every bands albums differ from record to record. Sometimes the change is good....sometimes not. But these guys still deliver the goods....consistently!
definitely different .... but i like it .. i know ben schigel did the drums on the CD who is the producer ... he's a bad ass drummer, i swear i hear his vocals too....
No you didn't say it was *BAD* but i didn't say you did either so calm yourself princess ;) .... I do have to agree that it probably won't ever touch Impossibility of reason or the self titled, but that is the point in creating music (not doing the same shit over and over again). I actually had to warm up to born in blood but now that i have listened to it a few times it has grown on me.
From what i have heard from these samples though, i think were in for a pretty badass album!
@Gundrillsuckscox 100% agreed. At 4:08 in the 'Stoma' clip, you can tell it's about to drop into something heavy. I gave the clip a bad rating, but you can't tell what it leads into.........
After an epic album such as The Infection, this initially sounds so disappointing. And I hate saying that because I own and love everything else Chimaira has put out up to this point. Hopefully when I get the actual album I will b proven wrong and come to love it as well. Here's to hope!
@Vcell6 Agreed. But at least for me, new albums take time to settle in. It took a while to get into a lot of the new DevilDriver. I'm not too worried about this one. It will find it's place.
Thanks for the post. I'm feigning for some new metal. The album sounds a little slower with more effects. It def doesn't sound like the best album they made, but it's not terrible. If I were to rate the songs(^ = good, v = bad, - = neutral), I'd say 1.(Hell)^, 2.(Clockwork)v, 3.(Mind)-, 4.(Time)-, 5.(Snake)^, 6.(Grave)v, 7.(Blood)^, 8.(Stoma)v, 9.(Powerless)^, 10.(Trigger)^, 11.(Scapegoat)-, 12.(Samsara)^, 13.(Scum)^, 14.(Days)^, 15.(Wild)v------Just my outlandish opinion........Flame away.
Wow, this sucks ass. My friend told me I should check out their newest effort... Fuck - I hate nu-metal.

Not the best Chimaira album I've ever heard, but it's still pretty good.
Their self-titled is still the best, IMO.

@MetallicAtack Listen to the whole album before you judge sir.

@YearoftheDragon88 I'm not judging it yet. Comparing what I've heard now, It's not the old Chimaira I liked.
I never said it was *BAD*, now did I?
