Dude love the vids. Did my chains about the same but only 8 cross chains on 2.2 proline AT tires AWSOME for my rustler no skis. did front and rear but unless 4x4 just need the rear. #16 chain and also did a triangular stud pattern. Keep up the good work.
hey dj, i know you probablly wont even read this but i just got a traxxas rustler and im wondering how to give it more accelleation because i damaged the motor by running it in some thick dirt and i got a new one and now it doesnt do wheelies is there anything i could do to get that back like maybe adjusting the slipper clutch?? i really need you to respond soon please????
you should use stiffer shocks cause when you or out on the trials your not gonna have a lot shock movemnet and stuff like that just putting it out there i like it though.
I like the look of the 2 different colours on the chains. I had made mine last year with all brass coloured chain but after a couple runs and sparks on the pavement the cross-links just turn a nice rust colour when they dry. Easy fix is just run them again and they polish right back up. Either way, the paint won’t last too long. The dually chains are going to be seriously bad a**.
hey medic just wondering how are the rc4wd mud slingers in the snow. and i have a 100$ budget. would that be enough for rims and tires. just wondering because my flatirons are bald and there not going to do much in snow. especially when you live in Canada hahaha!
how many links for the bigger (silver) chain? I want to put this on my Dingo. so far im getting 4 links for the smaller chain for across the tire and to hold the chain on the wheel...
hey medic. me and one of my friends built some tire chains yesterday. thanks for making the vid to us how to make them! cant wait to see them in action when it snows!!! keep up the great work
dude your awesome just got my frist leafspring truck to start a project any hints to help with flex for rc4wd trailstomper its super stiff (thats what she said) thanks man for the great vids!
@djmedic2008 I have recently become very intrested in rc cars and I have been looking back through your channel and watched the tamiya TT-01 build, I am thinking of picking something like this up, but which would you recomend: TT-01, TT-05 or the brand new: TT-06? Please help me! :-)
realy good idea but i made the same ones last winter and i uploaded a video of it its not very good but its a video ans i used the same chains and i have noticed that the chains get caught on parts of the truck and i broke many dogbones with the chains on!
hey i use tire chains alot in real life and if you take some small links and open both ends {use about six links} and place them evanly around the tire then get a small rubber band to hook on all the links the tire chain stays on propperly and longer because you can do the same thing on the inside and outside of the tire without getting cought on the axle housing
No need for snow chains or sadly the brutal looking studed tires here but I just love the idea of it all. I think it was wise choice on the two tone chains.
i am lookin for an upgrade motor for my losi mrc and was woundering if you recomended anything? lacking some wheel speed and idk how many turns the stock motor is.
Maybe an idea for a build after overkill, a speedy off roader? Hpi firestorm, savage etc? Be interesting to see how you would build it and put in them.
sure, it would cost a bit for you to manufacture them and send them, but i would actually pay that price! both, as a little 'donation' to your future projects and it would be really nice and 'one-of-a-kind' to have snow-chains hand-made, by non other than mr Medic =)
@Josnow68 Sorry my friend, the costs of the Chain, and my Production Time & Shipping Costs - are more than what people would want to pay - So not really worth it for any of us. I dont sell RC products - and think viewers, and myself actually benefit more from me showing you "how to fish"then actually providing them for you ;)
Hey Medic thanks for the tutorial, it'll come in handy when I go to make tire chains for my 2wd Evader DT...I got it waterproofed, so no reason not to do some snow bashing after I'm done overhaulin' it.
Hey man what about the Dually Snow Plow? I think it would be kinda cool if you could put a hopper in the bed of that Topkick for spreading salt on your driveway when ya plow....Just my mind wandering...Peace man!
And If like me you live somewhere where its not too likely to snow you could also use these chains on the mud. Flat irons or something similar lack aggressive mud tread but with these chains... I wonder :)
i made a set last winter for my flat irons and used the same stuff you showed 3rd. then i moved up to a 2.2 on the honcho and decided to make my chains bigger so i started that process today. just about out of chain though so i have to get some more.
way way back in the day i used to use roofing nails for my spiked ice tires when i lived on Mt hood in Oregon id pop them threw old wore out tires and ca glued the heads to the inside of the tire then used duct tape around them on the inside worked great and never had one fly out or come loose and were on my old buggys and did a few with a midnight pumpkin tire
