  • I love thunderf00t for using a clip from where eagles dare lol

  • He's kind of got it backward. Due to standardized testing, HIGH SCHOOL is where one learns to regurgitate facts, and post secondary schools teach one to analyze, manipulate, and critically apply the knowledge you gain.

  • If he's competing with the likes of RWJ and Lamarr Wilson ... he's in serious trouble. That's all I can say. He forgot his parachute and will not be happy on landing.

  • The law of supply & demand. In a world where everyone goes to uni' who's left to fix your cars & mend that dripping tap? Who's making the real money here, how long did you have to wait to get that last auto repair & how much did you pay to even get a plumber to come to your house? People need to stop seeing higher education as the answer. I know sitting on your ass in a lab/classroom is easier than getting down & dirty but don't whine if there's lots of others looking for the same gig;-)

  • im actually starting to believe in christianity more and more

when i see what's going on in this country you can just clearly see the way the liberals are just straight up ruining people's lives

  • @walmartian555 and how does it follow that god exists?

  • @walmartian555 Are you for real?

  • 5:07 There are literally thousands of videos on the internet and youtube alone of people destroying the only copies they have of their degrees because they know they are worthless. There used to be more jobs than there were people, now there are more people than there are jobs. Universities sell false promises of instantly getting a job the moment you walk out the door but what you have is the most highly qualified generation of waiters and cashiers.

  • Universities are nothing but re-education centers and they have helped produce this generation of pseudo-intellectual hipsters. They run as businesses, with students being customers, not the best and the brightest meeting the highest standards to be able to go to that university, no, just anyone who is willing to sign on the dotted line and get a high interest loan so they can end up with worthless piece of paper that tells them they are smart.

  • This guy is a clone of Glen Beck. Maybe his son.

  • I believe that part of the reason that such polemics followed Dan's "open letter" is that it is vague and underdeveloped. He dredges up universal topics ....Education...technology....the changes afoot and it's bolstered by his opinion that the internet renders his text outdated. This led to people in whatever camp making assumptions based on the little bit of information offered. A decent liberal arts education might have prevented this.

  • w0w this is one powerful video but to connect it to education is just stupid. fucking thunderb00t!

  • blah blah blah

  • OK I CANT HEAR A SODDIN THING

  • If you can go to college without becoming a debt slave because of a $50,000 loan, then by all means learn what you can. Otherwise get cheaper education from better education systems like Norway, Switzerland and Japan.

  • Again, More bull from FOX news.

  • The smug arrogant smarmy grin on pogobats face makes me want to punch his lights out for his idiotic lecture on the evils of ''education''.

  • V for Vendetta is in my top 5. Swell movie.

  • I just graduated in May and I'm 60k in debt. I haven't been able to get a job at even a small place like Starbucks. I feel that I would have gotten my money's worth by getting a certification of some sort. It seems like more companies care about experience and certification. Uni's are based off of guidelines established by the humanist movement in the Renaissance. It needs an update.

  • @gev2323 Gev, what did you DO in university? Did you go in the liberal arts direction? Because, to be honest, a liberal arts track will get you nowhere. The real world needs skilled specialists. Not liberal artists. Furthermore, if you went to a liberal arts school and PAID ATTENTION, you would've realized that you were required to take courses that emphasize on rational and critical thinking skills, which are essential in society.

  • The reason my dad was able to land a job within three weeks of immigrating to this country is because he acquired an extremely useful skill.

  • @zanderfist That's usually what it takes. You have to be extremely useful or you get nothing at all.

  • godlessness? LOL; And I guess thats why Norway is a bad country to live in, Or Sweden. Oh wait, their are not, they are top ranking, and have a population with % of atheists WAY higher then america.

  • Dan is a classic example of the parasite known as 'The know it all first year'. He couldn't cope with work, he couldn't compete with the others so he throws his toys out of the pram and blames everybody else. And Gates, is the exception that proves the rule.

  • @biggingeryeti Agreed.

  • What got in the way of my education is lack of money and time. I plan to continue after my bachelors when I am able to again. The only part of my education I regret is the crippling debt. It is also the only thing I would change about formal education. I consider it terribly inaccessible to us unwashed masses.

Even in my low totem pole college we are taught to think critically and logically. If anything, it has enriched my learning outside the classroom.

  • I wouldn't be watching this without college.

I chose geology as a major and despite all my pain and suffering with my "disabilities", I'm so glad I'm doing it.

One day it clicked! Geology is the king of disciplines because it encompasses so much of our reality.

My knowledge of Darwin allowed me to examine the counter arguments to evolution and has provided me with laughter and nausea ever since.

GET AN EARTH SCIENCE DEGREE. DON'T BE AFRAID OF MATH.

    BTW Thunderf00t is awesome!

    PEACE

  • I like how this guy thinks he's so smart, yet he uses retarded internet memes.

  • Glenn"Buy-Bull"Beck is a neocon lying piece of shit

  • dan brown gave the message 'do what is best for you' not 'drop out of collage because i did'. that was made very clear. stop trying to disprove dan and hve a civil debate with him.

plus: youtube is not reliable enough to use as a job?

thousands of people have been made redundant in wealthy respected companys like coka-cola.

    us

using a animated comedy tv show? thats a pretty flimsy thing to base your points on.

  • My two cents: Even if their degree is unrelated to their career, even if what they are doing now is something they could have done straight post-16, having done a BA and MA myself, living in what is essentially a university town (Sheffield, UK), I know of no individual who went to university and regretted going, who doesnt feel they are a better person for the experience.

I do, however, know several who either missed out on university, or who dropped out - and who bitterly regret this fact.

  • @Zarathustratosphere I think the UK & the US are different, i also think they will become more & more similar in the future. an academic (or similar) career is much more appealing to most people but don't be surprised if you don't get rich nowadays. If it's cash you want get a trade.

  • So I go to college, get a degree, look for a job, can't find one and now I have this massive debt that I won't be able to pay unless there is massive inflation.

You call this good advice? College is ok if the economy is going well. Sadly that's not the case.

  • @agun17 Broaden your horizont, is that bad ? It is good and sound advice to learn and broaden your horizon, it makes you better equipped to face the diverse problems you will encounter in your lifetime. It will help you make you understand the world you live in.

It is not about economy, its about growing as a human being.

BTW i would not hire anyone without the proper education. Sure there are natural talents out there who can do anything 99% of humans are not.

  • @ueks69

It's better to not ave a job and no debt than a job and a massive debt.

I prefer to be free rather than being a slave for the system.

  • @agun17 Of course if that is your life philosofy. Still it is ignorance and stupidity that accounts for much of this world problems, education does not have to be a scholastik one, a good trade helps you feed yourself also. good luck with being free.

  • My post below is referring to children from daycare to high school. I think the universities are still doing a fabulous job.

  • Education does need to change, but Americans are not looking at the countries that are successful and following them. They are doing the exact opposite and we will find ourselves no better in this way. We should be looking at what Finland is doing. Its working. Its the opposite of what we are doing.

  • Some subjects require a university education more than others. If you're aiming for a job in the humanities, arts, or a language rich subject, then I'd say you don't need university for much other than the piece of paper. For the sciences however, you'd be pretty stupid to skip university, both in terms of learning and qualification.

  • @TheCite exactly! For a science education is it is very much nearly impossible to get any of your work published in a journal without even a Bachelor of Science or a good breed of networks with scientists. As I like to say the first portion of what you described for most universities is a lot like "High School round 2" and you could attain the vast majority of that knowledge easily or attain it through common sense. Science on the other hand is a very different story.

  • It's true that Bill Gates dropped out of school, but you have to remember that everybody else at Microsoft have a degree in either computer science, engineering, management or business. The people are Microsoft who innovate, create and build upon the original concepts of Bill Gates, they all have degrees.

  • mmm nat portman

  • Bad comeback. It's not a competition. It wasn't advice, it was opinion. ((Some actually doped out of school based on his video??!!??))

  • I disagree with tfoot on this one.Education needs to change. I'm fifteen i go to school every fucking day to waste 4 out of 5 hours of schooling. I don't know about the education in america but i do know that here in bulgaria it's not about learning it's all about discipline and the fact that they say it's about learning sickens me. “The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education.” Albert Einstein the greatest man ever to walk this earth.

  • @mortuus8 "What if your educating yourself wrong? No one is there to guide you": This only increases my feelings that the job of U.S. schools is to indoctrinate people - like church.

"And how does one educate themselves?": How can you be a science grad and not understand this concept? It is what scientists are REQUIRED to do - think outside the box, research, experiment, follow leads, use the internet & library, discuss, etc... there are SO MANY ways to learn independently.

  • Although I may not agree, completely, with what Dan says on this. I just started college and it does appear to have you regurgitate facts. Not all the time by the looks of it, but it does. And I do believe that people, such as myself, who has already learned to apply information, or other who has already memorized the information, they may only look at the other side.

I learned, vary early, how to apply information, so to me institutional education appears to be simply memorizing facts.

  • i think its wrong people say dan brown could just go back to education. because if he NEEDS to go back to education then he wont be in a position to go get educated for a few years.

if he needs to it will likly be because hell be in a job interview and they will ask for something he hasnt got, and hell need it then, not have time to then say ill come back in a few years.

  • WOW I just said he looks like glenn beck LMAO epic.

  • I think it is funny that people are ready to down vote this video not because of the thesis of the video, but rather that he portrayed Glenn Beck in a negative light. His focus is that education should not be cast aside for ventures that may turn out to have as much longevity as gasoline in a Styrofoam cup. 40% of Americans believe dinosaurs and humans lived together. Do we really need less educated people in the world?

  • I've watched dan brown long enough to tell you hes nothing like glen beck.

  • First of all. Be very careful of what you imply. You lost all my trust when you went to compare Dan to Glen beck and then to a fictional character that is trying to promote himself through fear and propaganda.

Second, Education is on a whole a subjective experience. What I might learn will differ from what you will learn.

third, He was not advocating dropping out, but rather that education needs to embrace the technology of the future. Not all colleges do so. My College didn't. I suffered...

  • i loved your quote "success in the field is a fate worse than failure "

  • i loved your quote "success in the field is a fate worse than failure "

  • Great video.

  • When schooling gets in the way of education, you know what you do? You try to reform the school system! Or at least find a better way of educating one's self. Or both, preferably.

  • Can't we flag this video for copyright infringement? 3 counts: Simpsons, Glenn Beck, V for Vendetta. I'm fairly sure that fair use doesn't cover this.

  • @DarkEvilWorm002 Dont be a flaggit.

  • Dude, really? He responded incredibly politely to your last video- this is how you respond?

  • furthermore, you compare yourself to him. which is completely outside of the debate. Get your act together properly.

also, just because you are functioning well with your level of education, doesn't mean everyone else will.

  • you know... you say pogobat has no concrete clear argument. But you know what? You have the same thing. All you do is hate on him and his life choices. So fuck off. If you have anything to say, say it civilly.

  • WOW. He hates YouTube and doesn't like information from the internet. Yet he gets his message out on Youtube and backs up him argument with information from the internet. He also got it from Wikipedia, a place that fifth graders can write whatever they want. Bravo thuderf00t, bravo.

  • If you think YouTube sucks, and that information from the internet sucks, then don't use it as examples and GET OFF YOUTUBE.

  • I disagree with Dan, but it's pretty nasty to compare Dan to Glenn Beck. Dan was polite and he responded to Thunderf00t.

  • Honestly, I agree with both you and pogobat. Our education system IS breaking down horribly. I recently evaluated a friend of mine's university course in geography because his students are having difficulty understanding the material. I discovered his students are LITERALLY functioning on a Middle School education level. He is teaching 300 level courses! I am sickened and APPALLED by this. Pogobat is right, this IS getting in the way of education and something has GOT to change.

  • @longtail4711 I think part of it is because of the highschool system. I dropped out of highschool and did homeschooling because I wasn't getting the proper help I requested. I was just- "passed through". they didn' care about me at all.

At least with homeschool I'm actually learning. Good marks just naturally followed.

  • @firebat42 I agree entirely. I had major problems back then myself, and I dropped out of college to pursue my own education. I built a very successful career without a degree. I'm back in college currently for a change in career as a nontraditional student. I chose online classes this time so I can work at my own pace and learning style without getting dragged back by the rest of the class. I have a 4.0. I'm very glad to hear you are doing well with your education on your own. Keep it up! :)

  • @longtail4711 Will do! =D

And right back at you =)

  • i didnt agree with dan but this guy is insane and insulting

  • the difference between Pogo and Thunder? thunder is a self assured, self centered prick lacking in perspective or consideration. Making personal attacks on someone who clearly asked for responses.

Pogo on the other hand, is a bright, positive young man. who has his own opinions and realizes he's allowed to have them, he not only tolerates, but ASKS for people to disagree. because he doesn't need to win, but he sure is interested in improving himself and the people around them.

    try again.

  • @boombangbeep yawn empty criticism...you dont address any points.

  • @boorens18 LMAO! let me Address your address, you have yet to address any points other then trying to sound cool. and I ADDRESSED the point that Thunder disqualifies many of his own observations by hypocritically doing the very things he accuses Pogo of doing. but to a much more severe extent.

And that wasn't a criticism. a criticism states something in such a way that it asks for change. I MADE OBSERVATIONS YOU DUMB ASS.

  • @boombangbeep I second that yawn.

  • @boorens18 I second my LOLs.

  • OMG he drank so much caffeine that he can teleport! After all it's not like his chipmunk brain can only remember one sentence at a time. Let me know how your world without education turns out.

  • Sooooooooooooooooooo... why isn't your channel partnered (spelling?) yet Thunderf00t?

  • @ufikes Damn you beat me too it. As soon as i saw "collage" i couldn't help myself.

  • I dont usually disagree with Thunderf00t. But he sounds like an arrogant douche in this clip. The comparison of Dan with Glen beck is rediculous.

  • Comparing glen becks video to Pogobats made it obvious that they are completely different. Anyway, i do agree with thunderf00t. Pogobat made an alright point but... horrible solution.

  • Pogo kinda sounds like bill clinton. maybe he should get a DNA test. =P

  • That bit right at the end made me fav. this - keep it up man =)

  • You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself. - Galileo Galilei

  • Being a university educated graduate, I somewhat agree with both Thunderf00t and Pogobats. I've been to a few classes that were an UTTER waste of time, I've been to classes that COULD have been good if the teacher had any idea how to teach, and lastly I've been AMAZED by professors with the gift of teaching. I'd agree that you shouldn't waste your time, but dropping out isn't the answer. Find people you respect and ask them what teachers to take.

  • @Embrigh Embrigh, your point is perfect! I would like to add one more thing. Some introdcutory classes I have taken seemed to be an utter waste, but the knowledge that seemed to be a waste of time eventually helped me out in those wonderous classes. I wouldn't have called them an utter waste, but there are better approaches an instructor can take to get the point across.

I don't think Dan attended much university before dropping out. He never was able to give it a try.

  • “My education was interrupted only by my schooling”.

    - Winston Churchill

"The only time my education was interrupted was when I was in school".

    - George Bernard Shaw

"I have never let my schooling interfere with my education".

    - Mark Twain

"It is a miracle that curiosity survives formal education". - Albert Einstein

    Some people agrees with Dan.

  • @Musphaq Yes, but until Dan becomes a country's leader during wartime, an renowned writer, or provides us with an extraordinary physics theory, you can't really compare him to those guys, can you?

  • @Juxtaroberto Well, I'm not comparing. All I'm saying is he has a point that is valid.

  • @Musphaq

I'm lazy and not in the mood for research, but I'm sure if one were to look at those people's early lives, I do have a feeling that the education systems were... lousy by today's standards.

  • @Musphaq you can hardly quote einstein on this, most geniuses like him struggle with the social aspect of schooling and prefer to do it on their own.

  • @bassetts1899 Actually the quote from Einstein refers to all formal education not to his own experience.

  • @Musphaq yes i know, i wasn't doubting that... but his opinion is going to be a bit biased, just like dan's was. "university didn't work for me so it must be bad"

  • @bassetts1899 Well, opinions are always biased.

  • @Musphaq Notice though, how someone like AE still went to the university ANYWAY. It's all about being subjective, and in reality, Dan is right- to a point. Thunderf00t demolishes his argument though that universities are obsolete.

  • @RaybornButtercups He actually got into a polytechnic, with 5 other students. Not being a crowded school, it may have been a great place to learn. Then again, maybe not. I think you are right. Dan is not only exaggerating, he is also pretty much wrong. But, he still has a valid point noting universities are not flawless and that nothing is being done to address those flaws.

  • @Musphaq i think dan would have been better off making an argument of the cost of college vs the real benefits of it. that would have been a better argument.

  • @Musphaq I would agree with this statement if everyone was as smart as Einstein and had the ability to make it without an education. But in this day in age, it is very, very difficult to make it without an education

  • @Musphaq

    Facts:

Winston Churchill went to Catholic school until college.

George Bernard went to Christian school

Mark Twain went to Catholic school

Albert Einstein wend to Catholic school

Do they educate in Religious schools? Don't be a dumbass next time. actually analyze a quote from one of the greatest minds in history instead of being a retard and inferring after one look.

  • @capitandelfuego Yes, but if you look up the history of any of these men, you can see they they had to go to school as a formality, they all found other ways to teach themselves, wether it be Mark Twain and reading books in a library after work, or Albert Einstein trying to teach himself how a compass worked. All these men learned more from teaching themselves outside of school than they did listening to teachers talk at them.

  • @capitandelfuego

Damn son, you ya wanna give that man a bandage from all that hurtin you laid on him~

  • @capitandelfuego "Albert Einstein wend to Catholic school" I'm sure he was Jewish.

  • @Musphaq Schooling is something that some things require. I agree with those guys, but don't tell me you'd let some random jackoff operate on your heart. Or am I missing the point?

  • @Musphaq So what you are saying is.. Bet on being born as smart as Einstein ? sure that seems like a safe bet. No they do not agree with Dan, because they are not from the same time as him, so they are talking about a COMPELTELY diffrent sort of education for the majority of them, with Einstein being closer but still not the same at all. So your "argument" is completely worthless, i have no idea how i got so many thumbs up. A person like Dan would never survive as an autodidact.

  • @Musphaq

Trust me, none of the people above would give up what they learned in school. ( Except Twain, he never went beyond elementary school I think ).

I think the problem is that when you finish highschool it's expected to do a lot yourself. A lot of people don't get this and think college is a more advanced highschool.

  • WOW!!!!! Your BORING!!!!!!

  • thunderfoot if you read ur own video comments and pay attention to dan brown, this is clearly seen, you love facts, im in high school, facts are important especially in my APs, but even then interaction between students, and teachers is essential, it expands one attention span for one to take in information, rather than just take notes endlessly (run on sentence) he dropped out because what he chose in life required him being educated, not him needing a diploma

  • Universities do have their problems, and it is obviously not free. We have a large surplus of highly trained workers, and Obamas "I will get every kid a college education" is only going to lead to disaster.

Public schools on the other hand, are worthless. Every year in every class we were given a book and we spent the whole year going through it even though we could have just read it in a few days, and then trained our short term memory on stuff we'd later forget.

  • Comment removed

  • this dude is a douch

  • Is Thunderf00t a science teacher?

  • .......so u feel like he insulted ur education, and like a man with a pudgy gf whose girl just called fat, u have to avoid the elephant in the room, by attacking his credibility.

Just because the man wears glasses doesnt make ur girl any less of a beached whale....and just because he makes motions like GB does not make education any less impersonal.

People learn best when they feel like the teacher gave a shit. Hes saying education should be more technological, not nonexistent.

    Wake up.

  • That last bit was so true. My favourite video of yours yet. Well done!

  • He's Glenn Beck's bastard child.

  • I don't care what the ratings people said, V for Vendetta was the second best movie I've ever seen. Also, 10,000 points to Thunderf00t for destroying the religious fanatics at all turns.

  • What's your favourite movie?

    Lemme guess...Fight Club?

  • @NKA23 If that question was directed at me, then the answer is, and must be, Battleship Potemkin. Hands down. If it was directed at someone else, well, I don't care. Sergei Eisenstein was the greatest director in human history.

  • Well, I'd rather say Stanley Kubrick was, but that's a question of personal taste.

Battleship Potemkin surely is a timeless piece of art, that we will still be known in annother hundred years.

  • @NKA23 Kubrick was certainly an excellent director, but I've always had something of a grudge against him for messing up The Shining. I know, it's close to blasphemy to say that, but it really butchered the original story, and I'm something of a purist when it comes to making movies based on books.

  • Well, sometimes its bad to change the story if you make a movie based on a novel, sometimes it's better to do so.

Take "Blade Runner" f.e....the book is really good, but the movie is brilliant, even though it differs a lot.

When it comes to "The Shining" I prefer the book as well, but it is probably the weakest movie by Kubrick anyway...still it is a great horror movie and without having CGIs Kubrick could not have shown the moving hedge animals in an adequate way.

  • this guy kinda reminds me of glen beck. his tone of voice when he rants, the way his eyes and nose are positioned, and how he really doesnt fully know what he is talking about and apparently just loves hearing his own voice.

  • I used to have a saying about College while I was a Philosophy undergrad. The difference between most other majors like Business and a Philosophy major is that after four years a Business major knows many more facts but understands nothing. A Philosophy major after four years knows many useless facts but will understand far better anything he or she will come across for the rest of his or her life. Maybe you should have been a Philosophy major instead of complaining.

  • i can understand comparing DB to Beck, only in demeanor. but comparing him to beck otherwise, is just an insult. because we all know that Beck is douche and a bigot.

  • at 5:05 , i have met many people who think their college education was a waste a time

also, if people decide to drop out of college bc a guy on youtube told them to, the education probably wouldn't have done them any good any way

  • Dont know if you read these comments thunderf00t. I would like to thank you. I can not go to university as I can not afford to leave work. I would kill for the chance to go but cant. You, and others (esp andromedaswake) are helping me obtain my physics degree via open university. It will take me 11 years to complete at current fee levels. But I thank you and all others who take the time to do this, i find it priceless! - imagine leaving school if you can afford to go? Does not compute!!

  • he can go back to collage if he needs to.....

  • @mailmanofdeth Yes, "collage", maybe you can go back to "collage", to learn how to spell.

  • @mailmanofdeth lulz

  • @mailmanofdeth

Though I am on your and Dan's side, you're not making a very convincing argument when you spell the word "college" wrong...

  • @mailmanofdeth

    college?

  • Pogobat does remind me of Beck, except less blubbery.

  • Someone needs to have their education spoonfed to them like a child. Maybe you should try community college.

  • I think only Shane,Fred, and maybe Alex and Charlie can make it all the way through they do have something about them they can have experience as well and if they don't become giants they will mingle with them........ Dan Brown he is funny but he has this almost social political agenda bad for the big giants.....

  • i actually thought you said parent too... yeaah...

  • but its irrelavant because you will most likely find some point in the statements dan made 20 years ago, take it out of context and create another video similar to this one. I dont enjoy your videos because of your intellect or education you believe you apply, I enjoy them because you take a stance on what you say and express your opinions justly, JUST AS DAN BROWN DID.*you will also take this comment out of context, that perhaps I missed something, but remember I have only 500 chars. to use

  • Comment removed

  • lol 6:00 give a goat xDD

  • Extremely biased examples.

Please just quote him -exactly- and respond to it, don't insult, don't describe him or his family. It makes you look ignorant and ...wait for it... Stupid!

  • Stupidity is memorisation without understanding.

School can't make you smart, it can only give you fuel.

  • Universities used to be instruments of expansion, but of course as a society or civilization moves forward, it became an institution. That's what this Dan guy is trying to say. I don't like him but he is correct (not entirely).

  • glenn beck is a moron and it's annoying that the kid copies him, subliminal messaging for you

  • @Zachdudeio2 The "education" system (highschool and jr,high primarily) actually do blow dick. Schooling IS NOT education. Schooling is conditioning. Education is Learning (not exactly but you get idea) If you're not attending school right now, you wouldn't know so please piss off if you want to argue and you don't know.

  • I really cant stand this guy, he only cares about himself and he tries to make himself all flashy to appeal to other people.

  • calm down its his opinion don't attack him for it. I respect and enjoy youre videos but...calling a kid a moron is a little rough

  • Could've done without the irrelevant comparisons to other people's mannerisms. Should've just opened with his logical fallacies. I spent a few minutes just thinking to myself "Get to the pointThunderf00t..."

  • Im kind of in the middle. they should put in a class or two that caters to Dans ideas. but college is very important. I hope that the rest of Dans viewers realize that he didnt need college as much as the next guy because he already has a job. But using Dans sense of humor as a dig wasn't very successful with me. him putting handsome as a tag is something that would make me watch his videos again. it makes him like-able and popular

  • I understand exactly where your coming from, but the way you handle is, somewhat, imature. You talk to and about Dan Brown like he is an idiot. He thinks differently then you do and just because of this doesnt make him "insain." He is only letting his opionion out there. He's not saying that everyone should drop out of school, just that he felt his money was being waisted. Like he said in his other video, he can always go back if Youtube doesn't work out. Its not the end of the world.

  • It is comical how Beck syncs almost perfectly up to the guy from V's voice.

  • Live and then you die that's all there is to it.

  • 6:07: Oh my god, give him a break, it's just a freaking tag, not meant to be taken seriously..

  • jealous british stupid fucking no life faggot

  • HE DIDNT DROP OUT BECAUSE HE HATED IT AND IT WAS HARD, HE DROPPED OUT CUZ HE DIDNT FEEL LIKE HE WAS LEARNING, BEING EDUCATED.

  • @nintendowiz321 and to add to that, perhaps you THUNDERF00T should be making your quarrel with the quality of education and how they fail to inspire the students to stay in school just as dan suggests.

  • ok i know how important school is but its not for everyone you cant force it on everyone i know if i want to become an oncologist i have to have 8 years of schooling and 5 years residence after that but still dan isn't a glen beck just because he put out his thought you have to criticize him on what he thinks that sounds more glen beckish to me and not the funny side of him.

  • I decided to go to college for a slip of paper. I didn't learn anything there that I couldn't have learned wholly on my own for a lot less money, and, admittedly, in some cases a lot more reading, and possibly a few more failed lab experiments. However, there WERE things that I wanted to learn about that either wasn't offered at school or I didn't want to waste money and credit hours on them, so I learned those on my own. In the end, the slip of paper is worth it.

  • @deltaxcd Can you offer any specific examples of a professor who states in writing that students must memorize their book and ignore all other viewpoints? Or is this just your misinterpretation of the educational system? I've encountered a lot of educators across a lot of disciplines and I've never even come across rumors of behavior like that tolerated at an accredited institution. Put up some evidence for your generalization or kindly withdraw it as unsubstantated assertion.

  • This video was the reason I unsubscribed from Pogobat. I liked some of his earlier stuff, but telling others not to attend post secondary education was too far.

  • @Hashime777222 .....bitch

  • @alexbf41

Really, I voice my opinion and all you can muster is that?

  • This time Thunderf00t is wrong. Education in reality is just a big cult.

Yes they teach more useful stuff than religion, but they use same methods.

all educational programs is nothing else than religious dogma, you are strictly forbidden even to doubt validity of educational facts. If you do, you will be severely punished with bad grades.

Thinking is strictly forbidden, You cannot even use unapproved method to solve given problem

    That is todays education.

  • @deltaxcd Thinking is generally only forbidden when you a) are thinking about something already well-proven b) are not educated enough to really think of something. c) thinking off topic.

This varies on the class, but I wouldn't say Thunderf00t is wrong in most cases. Be honest, what good does doubting the validity of something that's proven do?

  • @XChrisUnknownX

Doubting of validity teaches us to doubt everything, what is essence of science. you must believe nothing no matter how well proven it is. Creationism was well "proven" before evolution too.

Person who believes in what other tell him is just an idiot.

It is not that educational system must teach every alternative, but instead for forcing solution it must give chance to select or find best method which gives right answer.

  • @deltaxcd Okay. Let me rethink what I was trying to say. If someone teaches you something, doubt it. If they give you a clear and solid reason for what they taught you, and you understand it, then don't doubt it. Yes, doubting is the foundation of knowledge, but if you doubt things that are true, you waste time on what's already known instead of inventing what's new. I'm sure you know that, but I was unclear in my first post.
