Because everyone knows that Santa and the Tooth Fairy don't exist. And everyone knows that God DOES exist. The problem is, God gets in the way of humanities evil. Immoral sexuality, lying, greed, lust, earthly pleasures, are all what the devil has to offer. And to get those things, God must be put out of the picture. "Doe as you will" (from the satanic bible) and the evolution theory are perfect for this perverse generation.
Hasn't there already been a second coming of Christ? He showed up a few days after his Crucifixion. 100s saw him. What they are really talking about must be a Third Coming or something.
Does anyone else realize that Huckabee only comments on his beliefs of evolution only when asked by people who want him to have a weak response? It's not like the man shouts out, "Oh my gosh everyone! Believe what I believe and if you don't, you're going to hell!" He's a pretty open-minded person and just because he follows what the bible tells us, does not mean he'd make a bad president. I think people are more comfortable with a religious man in office.
@TbredGrits91 "Does anyone else realize that Huckabee only comments on his beliefs of evolution only when asked by people who want him to have a weak response? "
Good point. Its also a tactic the mainstream media hopes to use; to make Huckabee look like a religious fanatic, since all he talks about is religion. Thats why, Huckabee is smart, if u notice, he always has a comment before he answers the question. Making it clear that THEY are the ones asking him the religious questions.
Do you know that back when our country was founded the bible was esteemed by our government as one of the greatest books of all time. George Washington especailly was a man who constantly read his bible and I wouldn't be surprised if he quoted it alot as well. I'm not saying our founding fathers were all Christian, but there respect for the bible was incredibly high. But maybe you would rather deny history.
are you kidding??? almost all of the founding fathers were deists. only a few were christian and 1 was catholic.
but in the deist section there were : George washington, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin. the three most important founding fathers in terms of influence.
Lincoln, although not a founding father, was also strongly against the bible.
Ok did you actually read what I said? I already stated that I wasn't saying that our founding fathers were all Christian, but their respect for the bible was high. I think you need to do some research. Yes Thomas Jefferson was a diest, yes Franklin was a diest. I don't deny that. I quite frankly don't know what books you study from. But many of them talk highly about the bible. You are totally missing my point
That still doesn't indicate rape... but actually Huckabee did extremely well considering how little money he had, and a lot of people, whether democrat or republican, respect him. He won the states of Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, and Louisiana. I might be wrong but He think he also won the states of Tenessee and Kentucky. That's pretty darn good for some one who at the begining of his campaign was 1% in the polls. I wouldn't be surprised if he does even better if he runs again
But then again that's not really my point. My point is when someone quotes scripture like "God created the heavens and the earth"... who cares? That doesn't mean you have to believe and God... That doesn't mean he's going to force anyone to believe in God... How many times do you hear people quote the "violent" passages of the bible?
Well I have read the bible and bits of the Koran... first of all there is no where in the scriptures where God orders the raping of virgin women... that's bull crap... secondly whole thing on slaughtering tribes is one sided... many of these tribes offered up there children as sacrifices to pagan Gods. There was so much evil that God used the israelites to wipe them out...then the Israelites themselves began to participate in evil parctices like this were also punished by the invasion of babylon
I guess I don't exactly understand the point... Huckabee tried as hard as he could to get not talk about religion during his campaign, however, people often inqured about his faith since he was a former Baptist minister. Because so many people inquired, ofcourse he had a right to say what he believed. Seriously I think your big stink about this whole thing is down right stupid... if you actually read the bible there are alot of good concepts in it that people can respect without being Christian
so basically your saying only athiests can be presidents... what's wrong with quoting the bible- it's just like quoting any other book . Even a non Christian can say that there are good things written in the bible... to love your neigbor as you love your self. To feed and cloth the poor... I mean come on!
If some of you left wing liberals would learn to read, you would know this, Our history is full of men and women of faith who served their country infact James Abram Garfield
20th President of the United States was an ordsined Disciples of Christ Minister, Several men who help establish this nation was ordained ministers, infact church services was held every sunday in the US Capitol building for years, So your so called seperation of Church and State goes right out the window
Thomas Jefferson, one of our greatest political minds and presidents, proposed a separation of church and state because politicians try and wrap themselves in God and say disagreeing with them is heresy. If some people would read a little further back, they'd see that the King of England, and every other Monarch tried to claim divine authority as justification for their tyranny. There's nothing wrong with faith, but many conservatives are using it as a weapon just like Jefferson warned against.
there is no seperation of church and state clause in the constitution nor declaration of independence, infact religion is not mentioned in the orginal part of the constitution. it is mentioned in first amendment to the constitution "Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. this has nothing to do with seperation of church and state it is to protect the church from being taken over by the state.
Dammit people! We know that Santa and the Tooth Fairy exist and we also know that god does not. There is evidence folks. If God existed then conservatives would not, he would have smote them from the face of this planet for besmirching his mighty name.
People took issue with him not believing evolution, not for believing in a god. You may may find that just as outrageous, just don't misrepresent what happened.
I support Huckabee too. Having faith is very important. But he has also proven that he is qualified for the Job. Everyone else sounds like the same old song and dance. Mike already has a plan written in detail and is going to do it right! Check out his site and review his plan. You'll be impressed.
Right On!! Huckabee tells it like it is,and never falters over his views on anything. You people who push the global warming issue are just DRAMA QUEENS.
my economic and political teacher used to joke "who cares about troops dying in Iraq, the trees are dying!" seriously though, Global warming is an important issue, but it should not be the first thing that occupy a president's mind.
Belief in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy doesn't bring about the Apocalypse.
A Christian longs to see the second coming of Christ. The Holy Bible tells us we must experience the Apocalypse before we see the return of Christ. This means, Christians long to see the Apocalypse.
Now do you understand why a non-Christian has reason to fear an extremely devout Christian Commander-in-Chief?
When in our history has this ever been a problem? Many of our Presidents have been Christians, and none of them seem to have operated to bring about the Apocalypse. To not vote for someone based on this fear is irrational given all of the evidence we have to the contrary.
I'm not suggesting one should vote for a non-Christian Presidential candidate, for one does not exist. To suggest none of our Christian Presidents have operated to bring about the Apocalypse is inaccurate.
The US supports Israel. Take away the Christian religion and tell me why we support Israel. The disadvantages of this alliance are well documented, what advantage does Israel offer the US?
btw earth is going down anyway. Sun is burning out. But first people die because global warming, no fuking big deal. through hundreds of millions years different ecosystems have rise and fall. NO FUKING BIG DEAL.
@tnhuck I think if our presidents didn't believe in a magically utopia after death, they wouldn't be as willing to send our soldiers out to die in Afghanistan. We need an atheist president to stop the wars.
Mike Huckabee is an honest guy who is willing to be criticized and face his critics head on. He has destroyed the credibility of th Club for Growth's credibility and they have helped him launch himself past Romney in the polls.

So you compare God to Santa and the tooth fairy? This is either a mock statement or a very poorly contrived fallacious argument.
