Well it was just a tacky soap opera type program. I would be more surprised by good acting on a program like that.

He can't sing particularly well. Sure, he's probably better than I am, but comparatively, he's mediocre. And none of the lyrics are very well-written, either. Nothing out of the ordinary, nothing experimental, nothing but thoroughly-generic love songs.

That's why Neighbours isn't what it used to be. It's much more serious now. I used to love watching Neighbours because of all the jolly tomfoolery, but now (noticeable since the revamp of '07/'08 when they changed all the lighting effects and made it much less bright and cheery) it is too much of a soap opera.

Same here, completely and utterly. I used to love watching it for the brilliant happy, funny moments. And the long plots, every plot seems to take about a week to be over and done with now. Think about the Plane Crash. It took ages for the culprit to be discovered and his motives. Now it's such a Drama, I hesitate to say Teen Drama but...not too far afield.
