Salam, it appears that will be the way I need to go. all that I have been told, don't do stems at all... Looks like an after the holiday's call. Thank my friend.
@Aharndts No sorry, do you screw the stem into the pipe? if you do then the metal tenon must have a screw thread on it? that makes it hard to replace, but if the sten is just a push fit into the pipe then that is a lot more easy, and I am certain with your wood working skills you will be able to do all the needed work your self, you can do it, yes you can
Good looking pipe. Biting the stem often comes from frustration I would think. As in; THAT KID DID WHAT?!?! (CHOMP). I'll have to kill him!!! LOL Of course I'm drawing on my own life experiences. LOL Take Care, Dale
@Aharndts Yeah, come to think of it, I believe it was MY older brothers that caused the most frustration around the house!... YEP! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it! LOL
Jake HAckert does stem repairs ! And cheap maybe 20 to 25 bucks and your set buddy.

does the metal tenon screw into the shank? if not then just another stem and keep the proper one in a safe place
patrickthepipe 2 months ago
@patrickthepipe well if it does, I cannot grip the two parts tight enough to twist it off..

LOL well since I don't recall my father smoking this pipe, I would have to say it was caused by my older brothers.

pipeheadOR refurbished one of my Hackerts. He does outstanding work. He has a lot of videos of him doing it. Maybe you could give him a try.
