  • Wow! I think this is the first time I've actually had someone explain a sport to me and I kind of understand what they are saying

  • Vincent was the best RIP Vincent

  • Best explanation I've ever seen. Now, how do I, as an American, see an actual game, just to see how long it takes before I go to sleep waiting for something to happen - like I do with baseball?

  • an innings is ALWAYS plural motherfukcers

  • This is the single most amazing thing I've ever seen.

  • Love that guy

  • But what about the Duckworth-Lewis method?

  • ich will ne nacht partie schach mit ihm !!

  • Vincent is still the Man.

  • vincent price loves eerie models so much, he would get along with doc brown so well.

  • Vincent Price voice actor writer and reader aka dracula

  • Always so very handsome!

  • I'm not interested in cricket, but Vincent Price has a fantastic way of getting my attention, I could listen to him for hours! Great Clip ~Thank you.

  • I've always wanted to learn how cricket is played. Now I've done so in the BEST WAY POSSIBLE! XD

  • this is the most amazing thing that has happened to me today

  • Vincent is the ShEiit

  • I don't think I've ever been happier than when I watched this

  • What a class act .

  • I got Vincent's autograph on the Hollywood Squares 30 years ago

  • Thats a cool story, way to go!

  • What a wonderfull man ! Outstanding actor, gourmet chef , art collector, author...and, by the words of relatives, actors and others, a kind gentleman with a wicked sense of humor. He has a great legacy! Wish i had the honor to meet him!

  • I'm voting Mr. Price as the coolest person of all time.

  • Seconded.

  • Thirded.

  • Fantastic comeback! Too bad I'm not British or that might actually have hurt my feelings.

  • Vincent Price is American. Get your facts right. So whos the ignorant redneck?

  • um. orchid morphine, Vincent Price was an American. who's ignorant?

  • What am I going to do with this knowledge?!

  • I'm an American who likes Cricket and Baseball. It's an addicting game. Just the positions are confusing

Caught at Square Leg or Silly Mid-Off

  • Did he say "the character" and "members"? The American horror, huh? I had a nice Halloween party last year (2007).

  • lol now it makes scense

  • i still don't fully get this sport... i've seen some footage where the "batter" hits the ball in the stands (homerun in baseball). What happens in this situation?

  • he socres an 6 if the ball dose not bonce if i bounces and rolles to the stands it is 4

  • didnt say about any other ways of being out, lbw and being caught or anything, or about boundaries but it's Price so all is forgiven :)

  • WOW. For an American he knows quiet a bit about cricket. Maybe thats the reason why they called him a class act.

  • this is very strange...

  • good post. cricket is the best game in the world!

  • is he dead yet hes a god

  • He's one of the best and yes, he died in 1993.

  • Wow. Now, where's a video of him explaining parliamentary procedures? Or economics? Or teaching Latin? I think he would have made a great video instructor.

  • Nice try Vincent. Now explain to americans how we catch a rock-hard cricket ball coming straight off the bat with our bare hands and why they need a huge glove to catch a skied baseball.

  • toughen up ;-)

  • To all people saying it sounds rather simple there, they are the basic rules, but you can also be got out via run out, caught, stumped, hit wicket or double hit. Then we go into the word of long off, square leg, deep extra cover and slips. All of which fielding positions. It's a complicated game, but probably the best in the world.

  • the thing is it's probably simpler in most ways than baseball but wankers try and make it sound like it's really complex. most of the rules are very logical, and there are no enforced fielding positions, they're just conventions.

  • Hmm... Apart from the fielding restrictions during power plays and inability to stand more than one fielder behind square leg due to bodyline... oh and if it rains, the new target score is calculated using the formula Z(u, w) = Z0(w)[1 - exp{-b(w)u}] - so yes, I take your point... and yes, i'm being sarcastic.

  • Actually they use a more complicated calculator now, but guess what? You don't need to know it to watch the game! My reply was to a comment that suggested you needed to know all the terms for fielding positions to understand the game, which is untrue. The fielding restrictions in powerplays don't even require you to know the fielding positions, just that you need to know how many men can be outside 30 yards etc. My reply was to a twat who was misrepresenting the game to its detriment.

  • i love the way he says "there" at the end, sort of like sayin thank god thats over lol

  • Thanks for posting! It's so cool to see a genuine rarity like the Mystery! host segements with Price.

  • That was so cool! I loved Mister Price and used to watch "Mystery" every Saturday night at 8 PM. "Doctor Who" would come one right after it. The good old days...

  • I remember as a kid I had an autographed picture of Mr. Price, what ever happened to it I'll never know.

We miss you Mr. Price you have brouht alot of joy and screams to us all.

  • Who. Intreguing clip. Thanks for posting it.

  • great! thank you for posting it.

  • I've always heard cricket is incredibly complicated, yet mister Price makes it sound pretty simple there.

  • way to go Vinnie... if he was still alive I'd vote him for president

  • Howzat?

  • What a class act .

  • wow. I love Vincent Price. : D

  • Vinnie would make for an interesting sports commentator, wouldn't he? lol

We love you, Mr. Price! :)

  • I never understood cricket until Vincent Price explained it in this video. Thanks for uploading it!

  • actually not for the lady vanishes but a forgotten spin-off entitled 'charters and caldicott.' cute litte series that ran on mystery in the mid 80's.

  • what a dandy dude

  • Wow. This is obviously for the movie The Lady Vanishes (ah but which version, 1930's or 1979?). this is rare stuff, you'd never be able to buy this sort of thing. Thank you for uploading!

  • This, Trigger, is the great Vincent Price, mastermind of horror and one of the greats of the acting world. He was one of the best actors this earth has everseen! I miss him (he died in 1993) but we'll remember him. That's who the creepy man is and that's why you like him so much. lol But my description of him is true.

  • Who is this creepy man and why do I like him so much?!

  • 1. He's Vincent Price.

    2. He's Vincent Price.

  • Vincent is the best!

  • One of the best and easiest to follow explanations on how to play cricket. Man, do I miss those Mystery intro and outros.

  • I can't stand cricket, however, I'll watch anything with Vincent Price it it. Much respect for the clip.
