  • is best do the model and mould,,, before aply you resin and fiber, easy ! the model is in wood !

  • @carbon7665 thanks!

  • THere's just one thing I'd like to know, usually when you see people making CF pars they do it in multiple layers, one by one. You seem to have done it with one layer, or did you just put on all the layers at once and saturated them with resin?

I enjoyed the video, good job and have fun on the snow!

  • @Sebastijanovski i only did one layer because the windshield is just for show - and want it light.

  • @AdighaSreqwash the only way it can really shine is if the finish is good to begin with - you can buff and polish but it only goes so far.

  • @lshobie ok thank you :) good job btw

  • where can i buy the carbon fibre and how much it cost?

  • @MissedByAge really depends on the quality of carbon fiber you want certain grades are only like 50 bucks per square yard and Unidirectional ones can even be as heap as 30 buck per square yard. But the high grades used for racing wheels or anything that requires a heavy workload and lightweight qualities can cost up to 300 bucks per square yard. When I got mine I got it from "fibreglast" a tad expensive, but a decent product. Just google it.

  • THANKS SO MUCH MAN! ive been checking back waiting for this VIDEO! THUMBS UP!!!!

  • how hard is it like lbs to bend it also is there a way to get hardened carbon fiber

  • @themodmancarl you'll have to do a search to find out how strong it is, it is very strong though.

  • @lshobie thanks but i was kinda looking for rigidity like how flexible it is

  • @themodmancarl its very flexible but depends on how you make it, you can make it rigid or so it will take some movement, but continuous movement will just fatigue and crack it - when it does break it is a complete break.

  • @lshobie alright thanks i was trying to see if i could build something from it that needed to be somewhat rigid like plexiglass basically not to bendable but i assume with more layers or different curing solution i could tweak the fragility and rigidity of it

  • Once again a good quality video on how to do things :)

There aren't that much of CF videos so thanks alot :D

And my question was how the song was called at 3:16 ?

  • Awesome. I am going to try and use your vids to make my own.

  • hello nice video learned alot but wear can you get carbon fiber cloth and the hardener and resin?

  • @mugen214 sollercomposites com

  • What kind of cf did u use and how much do i need

also what cn i d0 to shed weight on my indy 500

  • @FearlessRomp you would only need less than a yard to do it, search soller composites on google and you'll find what you need. To shed weight check out my build videos on my elan and polaris XLT - I do alot to shed weight on them.

  • @lshobie thanx

  • @lshobie

what kind of carbon fiber vinyl did you use

also how much should i need to do my indy 500 windshield

  • soller composites com for all my supplies. i got the resin locally at a boat supply shop.

  • i forgot to ask you what is your supplier or where should i look for the carbon fiber cloth and the epoxy/hardener?

  • hey, hope u get to my question....can you use the same on carbon fibre that you use for fibre glass???

  • @21MALACHI22 The same resin? If so I am not sure but I think so.

  • Nice tuto, I will take some trick in mind

  • sweet vid !

  • @TheMckellarboyz Thanks!

  • Sharp lookin cab ,great informational video !

  • @FrankaDith Thanks Frank!

  • Hey, I love your work..I got an RC plane 'wing' that I need to mold up (Its an f-22 tail plane), its basically 1/2 inch thick in the thick part, 1/32 on the trailing edge and just a nice round shape on the front.

I need to make it solid but light, thinking of making a mold, pour in hot wax, and then make the bits over the wax and then melt the wax out....

Got any tips? you can see the tail plane on here:

  • @lolergramCCCP Some guys use extruded foam, very easy to shape and cheap, then make the part and pour in acetone to dissolve the mould - works very well.

  • @lshobie Thanks heaps, that sounds much simpler!!!! :)

  • That turned out sweet!!

  • First comment/view..love you videos man, keep up the good work!!

  • @Bellefeuille66 I'll try, stay tuned!
