Hossa was obviously aware of the sacrifice/trade and all of the effort the penguins put into getting him there and attempting to keep him there. Hossa and Dupuis for Armstrong, Christensen, 1st round prospect and 1st round pick?? Makes perfect sense for a team already loaded with star players and another in need of some serious rebuilding, totally worth it but a trade which they would NEVER have made had they not intended to keep him long term (not for a SINGLE post season run).

He came to Detroit so he could play with men like Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Lidstrom, Franzen, etc. He didnt want to play with little boys like like Crosby and Malkin.

Staal is not expendable, he had an outstanding season as a shut down Center at 19 years old. He's probably too talented to stay on a third line; it'll be very interesting how he is used next year. Hossa is not feasible, unless they trade Geno...and that's not going to happen. Yeah, there's cap room for Hossa next year, but not beyond - and he's not going to sign a one year deal.
