@Varavaken I'm not ignorant, what you are basing your view of him is after he escaped China, at which point he had no power, nor does the rich lords who escaped with him. So at this point, no one is sure how he would of turned out if he was left in charge of Tibet. But what we do know is that it was a terriable socitety before him, and there is no evidence that he was gonna turn all this into paradise in the 1950s.

So at this point, no one is sure how he would of turned out if he was left in charge of Tibet. But what we do know is that it was a terriable socitety before him, and there is no evidence that he was gonna turn all this into paradise in the 1950s.

What does darfur has anything more to do with china than iraq has to do with the US? How many Iraqi civilians died of shooting by private US military contractors, aka. Blackwater. How many Vietnamese civilians died in the Vietnam war killed by US soldiers? Yet the world would never blame the US for crime against humanity? lol, peternanbasten, you are wrong, the west does not like china, not that they are jealous, because they didnt kill all of us chinese in 1840s, and that they regret. We think differently, we have different customs and culture, and we are just not easily convinced by their liberal 'humanistic' ideology. Well, put it simply, we just cant find the faith in our heart to believe that the masters and profiteers of something as inhuman as the slave trade is capable of doing any greater good.

I don't think it matters if it was tibetans rioting or not, or whether the US & EU media lies or if chinese army paid nepali army to do it, tibetans have a right to defend themselves. some of them do it in a bad way, but most people would react violently if the people of their country were tortured, abused, forced to give up their children and have their culture and religion taken from them. especially if they tried for years to peacefully resolve the situation, and everyone just ignored them

There is a lesson for all Xizang ethnic minorities (formerly called Tibetans) that 99.999% of the world's population believed that Xizang province (Tibet in English) is a part of China. The 2008 Beijing Olympics Games had been very, very successful and the Best in History. It made many billions of people in this world Happy.
