One of my very favorite films and one of my very favorite songs...it's like a perfect marriage.

ALMOST FAMOUS will always have such a special place in my heart--it's the film I watched when I was 12 and made me realize that there was a whole world of amazing music that needed to be explored. Today I love Led Zeppelin and Jefferson Airplane and don't listen to Top 40 radio anymore.

Cameron Crowe, if you are reading this, thank you.

I dislike the music...think about it...the "Almost Famous" soundtrack is loaded with great hits...(you know when music actually had a sense of belonging..and yet Im listening to Arcade Fire while we watch "almost Famous" how about a little Led Zeppelin, The Who, Elton John, Cream....I can go on you know...point made.

I had the same misgivings, as I am a total classic rock nut and I adore the soundtrack to the film. But I don't mind the music choice.

Almost Famous is a modern film (albeit, set in the past) and I like to think that the overriding message regarding the impact of music on the individual is still valid today (if music isn't dead). Therefore modern indie music doesn't entirely clash, especially if the sentiment of the song is appropriate.

Besides, at least Arcade Fire isn't Top 40 generic pop..

Probably the best "music video" on YouTube. That song is just beautiful, sad and happy at the same time, kinda like the movie. You really captured the energy and the confusion (emotionally, through William's eyes) of the movie. This music video makes me so happy. Cameron Crowe would be so proud.
