Thanks a lot for your quick response, I couldn't work it out with the select object, but I found that if I run the velocity output thru a gate's left inlet, and the signal thru the right inlet at the beginning of the signal flow, it does exactly what I was looking for!! And also I can send the velocity outlet to a slider and then to a gain, to manipulate the volume depending on the velocity at the very end of the signal flow, so there we go!!!
Thanks again for your tutorials, they're the best!
Hi,thanks a lot for your tutorials, they saved my life at uni!
1 question,I can play some samples from my keyboard, but when I release the key, the sample will sound again.Am I missing something?I guess that the "players" don't understand velocity messages, and trigger again when they receive a "0" message(key released). Is there a way to avoid this? and even more, is there a way to send velocity messages to the "players" and have them replayed at the corresponding volume? Thanks a LOT in advance.
@franzasensi I suggest you run the velocity through a [select] object ([select 0]), outputting from the right-hand outlet so that 0s are ignored. That will solve the retriggering issue. It will also be sorted out through addressing your second question. I'd refer you to the set of tutorials on 'Polyphony using [poly] & abstractions' which covers exactly this issue!
