You've probably already applied now, like me, but I think you should go with courses that will help with everything, that you have interests in. I'll be doing maths, further maths and physics - these will help with stuff like engineering, computer science and all that stuff. So I can change my mind for career options if I need. For example, you could go with law, politics, history etc if you want something in that sort of profession. A language helps aswell in pretty much any profession.

You need to think about roughly what it is you would like to do in the futute. Base your Subjects around that because then they are going to be the ones that help you later on. If you are not sure what you want to do then mix it up with things you would like to do and things that you are good at.

I went for A levels originally but absolutely hated it. It was then I realised that it's pointless bothering with subjects you don't enjoy because they're only gunna get you down. A levels got me down so much that I hardly went into college so after a year of A levels i moved to BTEC Software Development. I've now realised I really don't want to do programming as a job and I want to go into editing. I received a place at Uni and am going next year in the subject I want.

I've recently Brought a dvc 100 (dazzle c. card and am using Studio 14 to edit etc my videos. i am a complete noob! :( Basically dude i would pay money to be taught how to edit videos like your Edit for M40A3 Predator! Courses that you enjoy, photography and special effects can lead you down a lot of pathways. For example going into Brand Marketing & Advertising or even 3rd party film design

i personally would do something to do with visual effects because i enjoy doing it even tho im not so good so i would pick something you enjoy because you wouldnt want to get a job you dont like would you :L? but if you decide to pick something that you think is good make sure you are prepared to do it and dont back out at the last minute ! i did and i regret it :L

Don't do subjects like media, photography etc. they may be fun but they have minimal career/ degree prospects that are worth while. Take the computer science degree and build a portfolio of your edits etc, you'd be more likely to be chosen for a company such as the bbc with the later combination, rather than those with a completely useless media degree

Before picking look up what jobs you can beneifit from the degrees. I prefer doing the editing one because its fun and enjoyable and i'm always looking forward to learn more about new editing programs, but i dont know many jobs for media besides movie trailers, movie effects and editing, Then there is machinima though. But totally up to you =)

Hey man. As a young man with a "fun" degree (Theatre Arts), let me say that it's fulfilling to get something enjoyable, and if you can make a living out of that, you're one of the lucky ones. But life catches up. And now I'm looking for a day job that can take care of the bills with benefits, and it's trickier, because I don't have any specialized training. I don't think you have to choose between the two. I think it helps to have a Plan A and a Plan B. My 2p.

actually I use 10 sensitivity in everything even modern warfare 2. It helps you 360 and it is easier to kill multiple people coming from different sides.

Why can't you take both classes that you like and classes that you need? Just major in whatever you think is going to help you in the future, and minor in what you think is fun and what you want to do. That might be a lot of work, but it's the best way to get into the field you want while keeping university from feeling tedious.

James I too am thinking of doing a uni degree in computer science simply because I love computers and my advice to you is do three subjects such as physics maths and biology or somthing then do something you like such as computing photography etc. because then A levels wont kill you as they have so many......
