This was the best hardcourt-Nadal, in my opinion. USO '10 Nadal was just smarter. I was amazed that he won this tournament, it really says something about his fitness.
At what cost though? This tournament put so much strain he couldn't defend the French and couldn't even have the attempt to defend Wimbledon.
I like watching him, but I do wish he had a playstyle easier on the body.
@sasook Yea I don't see him winning slams into his late 20's and early 30's...which is the only way he could beat Federer's record. Add to that DJOKOVIC...
you can make the argument that these are the GOATs of tennis. when im older and telling my kids ill tell them that i was lucky enough to witness these two play so many memorable matches against each other. god bless
@kspcool australian open is a medium fast surface, with a higher ball bounce, it´s not as slow, as clay, no way... us open is obviously the fastest hard court slam, with a lower ball bounce, compared to australia, the 2 slam´s probably use, different type of ball´s.
man this IS ridiculous! nobody could get that roger got and played this crazy forehadn slize, then nobody would have ever even run after this one, but rafa got it and fore sure the last one of rafa, also crazy shit!!!!
Nadal needs to play like this again. he cant just keep winning clay and grass. I want to see this in every tourtament. Federer getting pushed and destroyed =)
we are waiting for nadal to comeback at london master and to become the world number 1. he is the best, but he was so unlucky with that period of 2 months in that he tradest his knees.
He wasnt unlucky. Everybody knew his knees would give up sooner or later. Thats how Nadal plays. Its not like it was some accident, he fell off the stairs or whatever, his injuries don't come from nowhere.
Id say he was unlucky cause the major injury came right before the French Open, not that he was injured all in all.
nothing is better than 6-3 6-0

what a tremendous forehand slice Federer had right there, if it was not Nadal and his bull legs, then maybe Fed had had the point after that slice.

Nadal kind of owns Federer, no matter how hard the 'goat' tries.

Then again how Nadal recovered at @0.12 was stunning:)

didn't happen. Federer's game is very easy on his body and if Nadal exerts himself like always he will finish every year injured.

stefanradev 2 years ago
he's actually a righty who's playing left-handed.
sharpasaneraser 2 years ago
like sharpasaneraser said Nadal is naturally a righty who was trained to use his left to become both handed and have an advantage over some players.
