Contrary to the people who say this isn't ADHD, I think you're mistaken. This definitely is!

1) The ladybug is bored, easily distracted, and not focused on what the rest of the group is doing.

2) The distraction can lead to frustration (flower).

3) Another distraction can lead to trouble (bees).

4) Extremely intense focus when needed (escaping from bees).

5) Creativity in escaping the bees (bicycle).

So, basically ADHD meds slow down, or retard the timing of thought processes in order to be accepted by "normal" people. In my opinion (yes, opinion, I'm no psychiatrist or psychologist) it's probably more like a psychological habit, or pattern of actions. Focus can be trained, and at a later age, it will of course be more difficult to learn - but not impossible. People may encounter all kinds of encouragement to do stuff but it always boils down to choice. Any angry person can choose to behave nicely, and any hyper person can choose to act calmly. I mean, in time the physical aspects would HAVE to follow suit.

I'm one of the many who recognized the importance of paying attention BEFORE being taken to a money-hungry doctor eager to label the anxious with "hyperactivity disorder", or eager to call the heavy set "diabetic". Are these as common as they seem? Of course not. They never were. "He's not ignoring me because he's tired of listening to me, it must be because he has some sort of disorder!" Make sure you know what the meds are actually supposed to do! i never had that explained to me and kept creeping up the milligrams until i was on 32mg Concerta and an irritable zombie. And you are on a very high dosage! The chemistry involved in this type of psychopharmacology shouldn't be considered benign.
