  • This is so beautiful..... So authentic, so good!!

  • The talents of David Gilmour and Roger Waters is the greatest thing to ever be blessed upon mankind. :)

  • I love love david's voice and talents on the guitar!!

  • if i saw this live i would cry

  • @fl00dsm0k3 I was tearing up just watching this here

  • como e possivel nao gostar desta musica

pink floyd sao uma LENDA VIVA

  • audio and video dont match thats for sure, sounds great tho

  • @agdthatguy The audio quality from the bootleg video isn't very good (and has some feedback) so it was synced with the high quality CD audio from another live show. Other uploads on YouTube have the original audio if you want to hear it.

  • WTF IS GOING ON??? IM SO CONFUSED!!!

  • @OffsideMusic This is a live concert at Earls Court 1980.

Search up a channel called Domokon, and he has a playlist that is the whole concert. :)

  • If Roger is down there singing, then who is playing the bass....

  • @Superwolf1337 They usually had a replacement for all the members in case of someone had to do something extra that the PF werent able to do at the same time

  • @gnr1456 Oh. I kinda figured that.

  • best rhythm to jam over for anyone that likes to play lead

  • David is a perfectionist, period.

  • @brahim119 Gilmore is the best thing that ever happened to floyd,,he can make one note sound like a symphony,,plus his vocals are amazing,,

  • the 80,120 views are the times I heard this song and I'm luvin it!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of my Favorites!!!

  • his son got high on acid and fucked up London, including harassing and vandalizing the royal vehicle. Hes in jail for 16 months.................................

  • that solo doesn't sync up with his hands at all... am i crazy? look at around 6:15 and on

  • @TheEwingTheory maybe the video got outta sync? it happens with youtube a lot

  • @1039SmthdOutSlpyHrs

It's because the audio and video are from two different concerts. Each one is slightly different.

  • @TheEwingTheory Yea the origional audio that was with this concert was terrible quality, so they tried to sync up this video and new remastered audio from another concert in 1980 or 81.

  • @BlowoutBob guess i should have read the description. thanks!

  • i get cold chills every time i hear that solo.

  • i'd give up my guitar hand to go back and see these guys in concert

  • @utubesucksanyway

which is the "guitar hand?" lol

  • So Smooth......... Gilmour Rocks.. Never be another...

  • Greetings from Santa Cruz. I would to thank the UK for sharing their brilliant band with the rest of the world. Bad Ass Band. Peace.

  • Nobody can touch this guys tone, or even come close... ever.

  • @blackstratguy I know...I've tried.lol The people I've performed for say I sound like Bob Dylan though so that's a plus.lol. Not to promote my own stuff here without permission but I have a video on my channel with me trying my damnedest.lol. Peace :)

  • @blackstratguy I understand them. I can.

  • i <3 Pink Floyd :D

  • Maybe the guy that disliked this video was on the other side of the wall...

    Or maybe UNcomfortably numb...

  • Gilmour is an amazing singer and guitarist! He sounds great even nowadays.

  • he was already old here, and it was 1980 imagine him now, oh my god, the pass of the years are horrible

  • @josuneta Old??? The dude was like 37 or 38...you kiddin' me? You think that's old? Heh...

  • @jjobie Actually he was even younger...he was 41 when they went on the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour in 1987....

  • Yea first time I heard this song I fell inlove with it

    Haha

  • Gilmour is God

  • get the one person who disliked this against the wall!

  • just had an Ear-gasam!! GREATEST SOLOS EVER!!

  • @gilmourguitar123

Waters had more fodder for content possibly from a dead father lost fighting facism. Gilmour and Watters made a good team, but once their fortunes hit the idealism faded away. The child is grown the dream is gone.

  • @gilmourguitar123 It wasn't a joke, and it was slightly relevant.

  • @gilmourguitar123 You really couldn't tell that was sarcasm?

  • i hate all these gilmour vs waters arguments. gilmour = better songwriting. waters = better musician. cmon guys L2pinkfloyd!!!!111

  • My comment that Kerry King is way better than Gilmour was merely posted to illustrate that it's totally STUPID to say that "so and so is the greatest guitarist that ever lived". Saying KK is "way better than Gilmour" is hilarious. I chose KK because I was trying to think of a guitarist that was the polar opposite of Gilmour. A total apples and oranges comparison. Some people didn't get the joke. I will try again. Here goes: "Personally, I think Andre Segovia is waaaay better than Gilmour."

  • @WakG60613 Yeah, but Devin Townsend is a better guitarist than Kerry King! ;p

  • 1 Fucking reetard missed the like button

  • 1 Fucking reetard

  • i dont have a problem with dubbing it like this

  • Love this video never gets old

  • Personally I think Kerry King is way better at guitar than David Gilmour.

  • personally i think david is better the kerry king but you know thats my oppinion like around my school people think lil wayn is the best artist of all time O.o

  • @WakG60613 I hope your not serious

  • @WakG60613 Just your opinion. While I wouldn't choose King in my top 10, you may choose him as number 1. Thrash is not as musically diverse as Pink Floyd. Much more nuance in Gilmour's playing. IMHO

  • At the end of the day, the band came by to pick him up and play....pretty soon they just didn't come by anymore. Hard to tell what the effect of Syd would have been, but clearly Waters grew himself as a poet and writer of songs as did the rest. Influence is one thing, but don't discount personal growth of the band itself ---making its OWN progress/growth without Syd. In anyones book they have been very artistic without Syd.

  • Syd showed Pink Floyd the path to success, fame and fortune, gave the band it's style and name. Don't underestimate his influence and greatness you fools. Later he became Roger's inspiration for suffering and dispair which gave pink floyd many of it's best songs including this one above.

  • When a guitarist enters Heaven, they must beg David Gilmour the GOD of Guitar

  • Did gilmour change shirts between solos? :O

  • I heard that Jesus carved Gilmour's guitar!!!

  • Gilmour and Waters are reuniting tonight to a do repeat!

  • I don't really know Dream Theatre, is the lead singer Australian, if not why is he adopting that accent.

  • "My God it's full of ♪♫♪♪♪♫♫♪♪♪"

  • David Gilmour

  • Gilmour is the best slow hand guitar player ever

  • Fuck. It's great

  • David Gilmour at his best.

  • Dear Sir Gilmour, with this solo you knock me out every time..

  • one word GENIUS!!!!!!

  • Gilmour is a GENIUS

  • Asshole don.t waste my time time

  • Gilmour's vocals on this always kick my ass. So smooth and in tune.

  • puto engomado milf

  • Roger Waters is the most fascinating and inspiring lyricist and bassist I've ever known, he'll always mean everything to me when it comes to playing my guitar, whether it be "The Fletcher Memorial" or "Comfortably Numb" I'm always thinking about the way he sings when I try to sing, it's truly amazing how complex he does his performances, we owe him so much for his songwriting.

  • Io amo David.

  • i think this is the best comfortably numb FUCKING AMAZING

  • David Gimour, Nick Mason, Roger Waters and Richard Wright were all necessary for Pink Floyd to be what they were. If you look at any of the albums where one of them wasn't there, it's not as good as when they were all working together.

  • @MrNickbaseball12 You forgot Syd Barrett pal.

  • @CobrazVeNoMx I'm not your pal, buddy. And besides, while Syd Barrett is responsible for pointing them in the right direction and inspiring their greatest work, if he had stayed in the band they wouldn't not be the pink floyd we all know and love. He Is Pink Floyd, but he couldn't create the music they did without him.

  • @MrNickbaseball12 I apologize for trying to be friendly.

  • @CobrazVeNoMx that was obviously a joke when he said, I'm not your pal, buddy, it's a south park reference

  • @MrNickbaseball12 Mellow out man...

  • @Yeaout I point you to the comment right above your's.

  • @MrNickbaseball12 Hey! don`t underrate Syd,buddy! Syd Barret IS Pink floyd. And yes, Pink floyd would maby not be the same if hi didn`t left, but at the other hand early pink floyd was awsome and i think that The piper is one of their best albums. If syd would get more time he would be at least as good as pink floyd is now!

  • @kreaknindjan Thank you for paraphrasing what I said. Just because you capitalized IS doesn't mean it means anything different than when I used it. All it did was emphasize WHAT you were SAYING.

  • @MrNickbaseball12 No, you say "he couldn't create the music they did without him" but hi culd create better music then they culd. And if didn`t left he would still do!

  • @kreaknindjan he put out two albums right after he left Pink Floyd. Both had songs produced by David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Roger Waters. It took them two years to complete the first one. while they are good, they are not as good as what the classic PF line up did. obviously since he did not create as good of music as them, he was completely different in musical style and he basically had a complete breakdown, it was better for both parties for them to part ways. He inspired their greatest

  • @MrNickbaseball12 Ever since Barret quited defected the lyrics in Pink Floyd the lyrics have been weaker, but musically later Pink Floyd is better. And if he hadn`t got totaly mad he would have had time to develop his music together with the other members. And i think he would create incredible music!

btw The madcap laughs and Barret RULES!

  • @kreaknindjan You are shitting me right? You are telling me that DSOTM, WishYou Were Here, Animals and The Wall have weaker lyrics than Piper at the Gates of dawn? You must be doing a lot of acid to think that. And stop trying to convince me that Barrett is good. I already know that he is good, but he wasn't a good fit for Pink Floyd after their first two albums. Even saucerful of secrets is pushing it.

  • @MrNickbaseball12 The difference is that Roger Waters writes lyrics and Syd Barrett wrote poetry.

It seems to me that you dont know HOW good Barrett was. You are underrating his art.

  • @kreaknindjan No, the difference is Roger Waters wrote whole albums that told a story. Syd wrote songs. It seems to me you don't know much of anything and so i end this conversation.

  • @MrNickbaseball12 HAHAHAHA !!!!!! sure Barrett didnt wrote whole albums, he wrote poetry!!!!!! I meen, COM ON!!! dont be a fool! And yes, that is the difference. Waters wrote albums that told stories and Barret wrote poetry!

  • @kreaknindjan haha what is the difference between Roger Waters Lyrics and poetry ? NONE

  • @kreaknindjan Im a huge fan on Floyd and I personally think that Pink Floyd Pre Syd Barret was not good at all. More noise, come on See Emily Play really? Dont get me wrong pink floyd is my favorite band ever and is better then faggy led zeppelin but syd was no good

  • @hodogetsmoney You just dont understand. Barrets music wasnt that beautifull that later Pink Floyd, but he wrote something that means something, he wrote poetry. I dont say that Waters Lyrics dont mean something but Barrets music was naiver and yet deeper. He had a whole one gener and noone have ever mad anythinh like his music. When hi left The rest of the band tried to make Barretts kind of music but it failed. The first realy good album after The piper is The Dark Side.

  • @kreaknindjan Gotta disagree. Barrett's music was very, very different than what Floyd did afterwards and to an extent it was of its time. Barrett's solo works decreased in coherence and quality from the first to the second and whether or not it was due to his progressive mental illness, there's a chance that the best thing that happened to the Floyd was to leave him behind.

  • @jjobie You are wrong, in the start pink floyd tried to make their music the same way as Barrett did (Ummagumma and A saucerful of secrets), but later they changed gener. Atom heart mother is their first proggresive album.

Barretts solo albums has realy great songs on them (like octopus) but quality on th albums are very shifting and there are also bad songs. But al in al they are greate even if they are not as good as The piper.

  • @kreaknindjan work, but he couldn't have really contributed to it in the same way the others could.

  • QUE CONCIERTAZO, QUE PODER EN ESTA CANCION

WHEN I WAS A CHILD, I HAVE FEVER

MY HANDS MOVED TO HANDS TWO BALOONS................................

  • @josecastle1 My hands felt just like two balloons

  • ok

    salute from colombia

  • The "hq" sound is just from the Is There Anybody Out There? Live soundtrack, but all in all the music is what counts.

  • Wow... David Gilmour is the true genius behind Pink Floyd. Absolutely exquisite!

  • @krkgak roger waters wrote most of the songs though and created all like the stage ideas and stuff like that he was the producer of his own band so it shard to say.

  • David is not playing the guitar, he is making love to it!

  • song brings a tear to a mans eye, probably the most beautiful song I know of and I don't throw those words around often.

  • Where did you get this video?! Have they releases a video of the 1980-1981 concert?!

  • wish i was where but sadly i wasnt born yet.

  • I like him bcuz his magic play and he is not jumping around like ppl these days they make sick

    Pink Floyd FTW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hehe, that is how my vids of this are!!!

  • EPIC 3"45

  • *looks at clock* Im waiting for this on dvd I've seen what the footage really looks like.....let's get on that roger

  • I remember when I was a we toddler, I got a fever, felt comfortably numb, only my tongue is what felt like a balloon. And me toes. Crazy, man!

  • I've noticed that at certain shots (3:14 - 3:20) That jeff Dunham Kinda looks like him. And if not, than mabey I ate too amy Paint Chips as a young child XP

  • No dislikes

    I guess i'm the first....

    Just Kidding.

  • a real master piece...

the sound and the image at the last solo aren't synchronous :( !

  • Its funny how some people say that there is a better guitarist than Gilmour

When its clear that there is not.

  • @hylian5656 In what genre? There are other guitarists out there who play completely different styles of music who are superb in their respective genres, who are just as amazing. And Gilmour would agree.

  • @hylian5656 Well, there is Chuck Norris! LOL

  • @hylian5656

No dis-respect to Gilmour. But if you want to listen to some mind-blowing, ball busting, soul-raping guitar. . . then go and stick on a Jimi Hendrix record. Hes red hot

  • @hylian5656 - Dave would be my favorite guitarist of all time however Clapton and Hendrix deserve merit.

  • @hylian5656 : What about Jimi Hendrix? Eric Clapton (back in the day)? Eddie Van Halen? Just to name a few top contenders. I like Gilmour fine, but there have been, and continue to be, some very accomplished and skillful guitarists. Which one is "better" than which other one? Very subjective.

  • @hylian5656 Jimmy Page, arguably.

  • @hylian5656 One of my favs yet, dunno if there really is a best guitarist in the world, its all about the music in the end. As long as its good, right? =)

Probally my favorite band ever.. Then rush... =)

    Rock on!

  • Nice sound with video. I saw this concert in LA at the Forum. Great gig in the sky.

  • THIS IS GREAT TO B ABLE TO SEE THIS STUFF!!

  • Roger is a real genius!!

  • @poussyledzep you do know that this song, the music anyway was all written and composed by david gilmour right?

  • Comment removed

  • every time i hear this song i get chills prob one of the best songs ever made

  • The finest guitar player ever.

  • amazing version.gilmour is the sound of floyd, yet waters was the creator of the songs.looking forward to watchin waters in may 2011 as ive seen gilmours floyd 3 times.if its half as good it will be good.heard a rumour that gilmour is gonna appear for a few tracks.can anyone confirm that.

  • @amdanbfc Gilmour has agreed to perform "Comfortably Numb" with Roger on one night of the tour. So far the exact date he'll be joining Waters is being kept secret.

  • oh my god.

  • It is with out a doubt I say that the heart and soul of Pink Floyd, has been, always will be David Gilmour. Without his lead voice and guitar, there simply wouldn't be a Pink Floyd the way the world knows Pink Floyd today. To his talent I take my hat off.

  • he's crazy... !!!! it's greaaat... !!!

  • Dave for the win

  • Comment removed

  • The greatest song and band of all time.

  • 1:50 You can see who's the one that people love...

  • @lukenioo It was only because he was on top of the stage above the wall.

  • classic tune

  • gilmours vocals are at there best in this preformance

  • David is going to play C.Numb in one of Roger's Wall shows!!!

  • @lene2free Where did you hear that?

  • @jjobie check Roger Waters facebook! David made a deal with Roger to play C.Numb in one of his Wall's shows if he could come and play along in a charity event called Hoping!

  • @lene2free Really? the Rolling Stone Magazine said Gilmour say no to Roger

  • Comment removed

  • His solos could bring a tear to your eye. There is so much emotion, so much soul poured into this song. They are musical geniuses. Pink Floyd is more than music, it is its own feeling.

  • There's such a great divide between Gilmour and Waters. Truth is, neither of them is a fraction as good solo as they are when they work together.

  • I f***in love Gilmour, every performance is perfect and so full of feeling, listening to him makes me so nostalgic.

  • Rolling Stone rated David Gilmour as the 81st greatest guitarist of all time. 81, really? Just in case anyone thought that rag had any credibilty, that should be the end of that.

  • So, who was 80-1? "sigh"

  • @Brocktoon68 Didn't they throw Cobain in the top 5 or something like that? That magazine makes better toilet paper than a Rock magazine.

  • rolling stone SUCKS! read this magazine is a waste of time

  • I think Roger is pen, David is paper, you need both to write.

  • david's amazing :) ...because of him that Pink Floyd went from greatness... to legendary <3

  • Clearest sound on this video I've heard on Youtube. Definitely one of(If not the) best live performances of this song without any doubt.

  • @PinkFloydAreGods The sound is actually taken from the live double CD set called "Is there anybody out there?" Which was released a few years ago. It was dubbed over the original audio that went along with this video.

  • @PinkFloydAreGods It's from the CD.

  • no one will ever do a solo on such an epic scale as he did, this is live and he still blows this new crap from the wimpier nation of todayout of the water, and he also broke a string in the middle of it buck kept on blowing poeples minds. amazing

  • Didn't realize he had broken a string lol.

  • @NotNowJon39 where ? I don't see it ? :) :o

  • who cares it sounds good.

  • Floyd toured with several musicians. See the videos of "Run Like Hell" from this tour. The "faux" Floyd wears masks of the real band ...

  • whos playing bass while roger is singing?
