  • i'm sorry to tell you this but this is Digital..... the chip used in this synth is a Hex Schmitt Inverter, and Inverters are infact Digital... for analoge you will have to use and Op Amp for the oscillator... the 74c41 is identical to the 40106 inverter. i love Hex Schmitt Triggers i should know these things... i hope this helps you in your analog endeavor :) nice synth

    5/5

  • can you put a schematic the synth? please

  • it's taken from the nicolas collins hardware hacking book. it uses a 4040 ic and a 74C14 ic. i only used four pins on the 4040, but i don't remember which ones. experiment.

  • nice, this inspires me to finish reading that book, i ran out of money to fund the projects last year and kind of forgot about it.

  • why dont you try putting a keyboard to that box?

  • that's a cool idea, but a little beyond my capabilities. thanks for watching.

  • Because you'd need really tiny hands to play a keyboard 4" wide :D

No, really, you'd need to have a keyboard that sends control voltage out and you'd have to build additional parts into the circuit that would receive the CV. Or a MIDI keyboard and have something that converts MIDI to CV. Either way, tough and time consuming. What the poster has up here is cool. Experiment.

  • i have a midi to cv converter and an old analog synth that sends out cv. eventually i want to add some kind of cv in to my synths, but i haven't had enough time to try. thanks for the comment.
